Chapter 58 Don't Touch Her

1541words
Peter burst open the door before entering the room with his gun pointed towards Salvatore. Vale felt her heart jump out of her heart, seeing his brother holding a gun like he'd done it so many times.

Aware of the danger Sal is facing, she screamed at her brother.

"Peter! What the hell are you doing?!" She sat up abruptly and tried to stand up with fail attempt.

Sal immediately came to her aid, holding her steady with his hand on her waist.

However, his actions just made Peter all the more eager to put a bullet right through his brain.

"Don't touch her!" He looked at his prisoner with murderous intent.

"Don't you dare touch him, brother! He's mine!"

Vale raised her weak hands and pushed Sal behind her, even when the latter protested. He is the one who should be protecting her.

Though, his heart jumped in joy, hearing what she said just now. She said he was hers!

"Vale, don't worry. I will not let anything happen to you, okay?"

Peter seemed to turn a deaf ear to her words as he approached them like approaching a wounded animal.

"Peter! Have you gone insane? Why are you holding a gun?" Vale asked, even though she already knows the answer.

Before Peter could say another word, another man entered the room with long strides.

Vale swallowed the lump in her throat upon seeing him. Her eyes swelled up with tears, but she holds it back as much as she could.

Keith...

She calls for him, longingly, inside the depth of her heart. She wants to run into his arms and savour the feeling of secureness from him.

However, she wouldn't let them hurt Sal no matter what. She's got to do what she's got to do.

"Vale..." Keith was speechless when he saw that she's awake.

He had been worried sick over her for the last few days. He even went to so many troubles just for her.

For example, joining alliances with The Blood Brothers Gang. His drastic decisions made his members fidget, but they knew better than to question to him.

His friends could only guess what made him pull such moves. It must be because of the woman he loved so much.

He had even requested to see the person who tormented his lover down the dungeon. But, Peter was reluctant to do so and also suggested that they wait until Vale wakes up from her coma.

Keith, who is impatient and unmerciful towards his victim, felt like Peter was being ridiculous.

If it were him, he would kill anyone who as much touches the hair of his sister.

His focus came back to reality and landed on the hand belonging to the man behind Vale.

His brows furrowed in confusion but upon seeing Vale putting up a protective front for the man behind her, Keith's face immediately turns sour.

"Vale, what are you doing?" He asked before attempting to approach her.

Her next move causes him to stop with confusion and hurt. She had stepped back and gave him a piercing look.

"I'm not gonna let you hurt him. Brother, if you still want to fire the shots, you might as well aim where I wouldn't be able to stop you from killing him," She gave Peter a sharp look.

A bead of sweat rolled down her forehead and down her neck. She felt like the room temperature has gone over the limit, and she felt light-headed.

Seeing that Peter won't drop his gun anytime soon, Keith put his hand on Peter's gun and lowered it to the ground.

Peter looked at him like he'd grown two heads.

"Keith, what are you doing? That man is dangerous!" He hissed.

"Peter, does that mean you don't mind putting a bullet to your own sister? Have you gone insane?" Keith tried to reason with him.

"Then, what do you suggest we do? Let him keep her hostages?" Peter was furious.

"He's my friend!" Vale gritted her teeth upon hearing Peter calling her hostages.

"No, you don't understand, Vale! That man is in a gang! How could you possibly be a friend with someone like him?" Peter spat.

"What gang?" Vale pretended to be confused.

Her confused and curious face caught Peter off guard. He hadn't meant to expose what he really do to his sister.

"I-I didn't say he is in a gang! I-I said he is a bad guy!" Peter stammered trying to cover up his slip up.

All the while, Keith stand aside, watching with a curl on his lips. She was a good liar but not with him. Her eyes had flicked up for a split second.

He's curious as to why Vale seemed to be protecting the man behind her. The man who had been their prisoner for the last few days.

"No, I'm his friend. I know who he is and he's not a bad guy either. Are you saying that I didn't know how to choose my friends, brother? How old do you think I am?"

Vale gave her brother an incredulous look, her temper rise. Immediately ignoring the presence of another two audiences in the room.

Feeling defeated, Peter let out an aggravated shout before storming out of the room.

Salvatore felt like following Peter out from the room. The awkwardness is suffocating. However, he had to make sure Vale is safe before he makes an escape.

His first intention was to escape together with her. Now that he learned who the men around Vale were, he's sure nothing would happen to her. Her brother won't happen to hurt her while he was gone, right?

Plus, Keith was giving him a burning stare causing chills to run down his back.

"What are you doing here, Keith?" She asked, not looking at him before she sat down on the bed, staggering a bit.

"Is it a crime to visit my girlfriend?" He asked, feeling distasteful.

Vale shut her mouth right after hearing his unpleasant tone.

"I want to go home," She said after a few minutes of awkward silences.

Not only she knows that Peter is a gang leader, Keith even showed up along when his brother pointed a gun to Sal.

Had Keith been lying to her all along?

She had thought of the possibilities, but she couldn't help but feel like there's more to it.

Not only that, but she had also been lying to her brother again. Well, it can't be called lying since her brother didn't know the truth. But, still.

Now, Sal even got a peek of her life. She trusted him to keep what had happened as a secret. But, he would be curious and might even doubt her.

He knows her brother is a gang leader, Keith is a gang leader, and she was pretending like she doesn't know a thing about being in a gang.

Those facts pointed out that she was a liar all along.

She can't even lift her face to look at either of the men inside the room. She felt so embarrassed.

"I'll give you a ride," Keith offered.

"He's going with us," Vale pointed to Sal.

Sal opened his mouth to protest but immediately shut up seeing the death glare Vale was giving him.

Keith's eyes glaze over with jealousy all over again.

Why is it always this guy?

"Fine," He grumbled.

They followed him all along to his car that was parked on the vast parking space. Vale pursed her lips, seeing the luxurious life her brother is having.

It was such a waste that Landon's last base had to be abandoned. Now, they have to start building their own wealth and reputation again.

Sal immediately understands what she was thinking when he saw how her face frowned while scanning the area.

He put his arm around her shoulder and gave her a comforting smile.

His action didn't go unnoticed by Keith's sharp gaze. He gritted his teeth and could only watch in pure agony.

All the while, he had imagined breaking his arms and killing him over and over again in his head.

What could he do? His lover even goes as far as to sacrifice herself for him—a glooming cloud formed over his head as he opens his car door.

However, he hadn't expected her to sit behind with her little pet. He ignored them as he drove out of the area towards his base house.

The two passengers were whispering things he couldn't hear.

However, what he heard next made his frown deepened even more.

"Ah, you can drop me at The Lemon Park," His lover's little pet said.

He didn't say anything, but he was secretly rejoicing that the little pet will finally be gone.

He dropped him at the park and watched as her lover also got out of the car. He felt like his heart had been ripped to pieces when her lover hugged her little pet with a smile.

"Thank you for tracking me down, Sal. I promise I'll get Moscol out of there soon," Vale whispered into Sal's ear.

Unbeknownst to her, her lover had been watching their interaction with more than a pissed of look.

He was outraged.
