SPLASH!
Salvatore woke up startled by a man voice and shivering at the cold water that was splashed onto his head. The water dripped down his body as his teeth chattered at the water's coldness.
'It's as cold as fucking ice!'
He opened his busted eyelid with force and try to stand up and failed. He looked around and found that his hands and legs were tied to a chair.
A hanging lamp above his head and he noticed how dry the place are.
'Fuck! I must've been held in a fucking basement.'
The thing with a dry place is that you feel like you can't breathe properly and you feel suffocated. It makes you want to run outside where, there is fresh air everywhere, and you can breathe without feeling suffocated.
"I asked you a fucking question!"
Sal groaned when the man in front of him, Keith, he guessed, punched his face.
"Who sent you?"
Sal looked at him and smirked, "You'll be terrified if you know...buddy..." he said, provoking him.
With one last punch on Sal's beaten face, Keith left.
Sal groaned in pain before spitting up the blood in his mouth to the floor.
They've been beating him up in the last few days in different places.
Every time they left, he was knocked out before being he was moved to a new place. Interrogation room or torturing room.
Either they chain him on the wall or put him on the torture table, or they just left him on the floor.
Sal was given no food and no water. The men are purely cruel and he doesn't know how Vale could live with them. Or should he say, T?
She's supposed to babysit the kids the day he walks into their mansion, and he has to use the venomous gang tracker to find where she lives.
She never missed babysitting the kids, and when she did, James and Sal got worried.
She didn't even leave a message so that they would know she's not coming.
They tracked her phone and failed. So, they tracked her house, and Sal falls into trouble.
He didn't know what happens to her, he doesn't know if she is safe but he's gonna find out what happened.
But, first, he need to get out of this suffocating basement.
After his first meeting with Keith at the End Mall, and T saw Sal tucking his tails between his legs upon seeing Keith, she scolded him and kept track of his training.
Sal felt like she was holding a gun on his head every time she calls to make sure he tripled his training every day and, she got some girl to watch over him.
He doesn't even remember her name.
'Cassie or Cally?'
Never mind. He felt like a joke.
"Yes!" Sal shouted lowly when he finally broke off from the rope.
He stood up and stretch his limbs before sprinting towards the door.
Of course, they locked it from the outside.
He went back to take the chair and lifted it up before crashing it on the hard cemented floor. He doubts the men will hear the voice and plus, they didn't plug in a CCTV down here.
Taking the arms of the broken wooden chair, he went back to the glass-window door and break the glass before turning the doorknob outside.
He grunted as he walks up the stairs for what felt like an hour.
Sal finally found the door, but the problem is someone is guarding it, and he's armed. He inhaled deeply and huffed before he landed on the floor and pretended to groan in pain. That catches the guard attention.
"Hey! Stop there!"
'I'm stopping, buddy!'
He continued to groan as his heart thumped inside his chest. Sal heard the guard's footsteps, and before long, he was standing before him with his gun aimed at Sal's head.
Turning a bit, Sal groaned before sweeping his leg hard, causing the guard to fall down the floor with a thud and his gun to slide far away. Taking that opportunity, Sal got up and punched him unconscious.
Taking the gun and the access card from the guard, he went to the door and opened it before eyeing the empty corridor. He walks out cautiously and kept his eyes open for CCTV's.
Sal found another door at the same level, and he looked across the windowed door to see a lot of cells and peoples inside them.
Sal opened the door and walked by the cells when he heard someone calling his names.
"Is that you Sal? Get me outta here!"
Sal turn around and immediately shakes his head.
Did they drug him? He felt like he was hallucinating.
His dead best friend, Moscol, is down here, in a cell?
"No, this can't be. You died, I saw you..." Sal said, his voice cracking.
"No! I didn't! Lance lied to you!"
"Impossible! I saw you getting shot, right in your fucking head!" Sal ran his hands down his face.
"I'll tell you how that's possible, but right now I need you to get me out of my cell." he looks at Sal with hopes.
Getting him out would be a plus so that Sal could find her faster. But it would attract too much attention.
"I'm sorry, Mos. I can't." Sal shakes his head and heads down the door.
"No! Sal, please..." his face dropped.
"But, I promise I will get you out of here," Sal said to him, opening the door.
Turning his head to look at him once more, Sal gave him the news,
"...and Lance is dead..."
He kept going upstairs, which is tiring him out. But, he finally reached one door that could lead him inside the house. Using the access card one last time and exhaling slowly, Sal opened the door and grinned when he realized he succeeds.
Now, he needs to find her. Fast.
There are two stories of this house and he's on the first one. Sal guessed she would be held in one of the rooms here.
Few men are walking here and there doing their own business. He was sure she will not be held on the first floor where these men are staying. He had to go to the second floor.
Sal has to distract these men first.
He saw a red button beside the door he just walked out from, and without hesitation, he pressed the button before hiding behind the pile of boxes as the siren wailed out.
Sal heard a commotion at the background and men running here and there shouting. He slipped between them and went upstairs and checked every room casually like he was one of them.
He finally comes to the emergency room, but a guy was guarding the door, and he was holding a gun as he looks around.
"Yo, buddy! You are needed downstairs. The leader sent me up here to take over you." Sal said, hoping that he doesn't know who he is.
"Okay," he said before he moved towards Sal, and they passed by.
"Wait." he stopped.
Sal stiffened and turn back around slowly, holding the gun tight in his hand.
"Are you a newbie? I've never seen you before," he said as he looks at Sal up and down.
"Yes, I'm new, and I just came out of the training room. My opponent is quite wild." Sal said and grinned, hoping he would buy the lies he just told him about the beaten-up look of him.
"Oh, I bet it was Gregor again. He likes playing dirty," he said before disappearing behind the wall going downstairs.
Sal blew out the breath he was holding and open the door of the emergency room, and there she is.
He gasped seeing her current state. The visible parts of her body show the sign of bruises and cuts.
Closing the door, Sal went to her side in a trance and sat down on the chair taking her hand in his.
"What happened to you?"
Her hand is a bit cold, and it made his eyes burn hot. He wanted to shed tears seeing her condition.
"You're strong. How could this happen to you? Who did this?" he asked her as lone tears dripped down his cheeks and onto her hand.
He cares for her like a little brother.
Spending time with her in a short time made him like her more and more. She looks like a scared girl the first time he saw her and he was shocked seeing her defying Lance, killing him and even pull out an intimidating power against them that night.
She didn't even waver after killing Lance. A person like that must've had an experience.
'Who is she? Where did she learn to fight?'
There are too many questions and he wanted to know her more.
"We need you, vodca..."
For a moment, he thought he felt her finger's twitch.
"I need you..." he whispers in a low voice.
"I thought you forgot to check up on me that day and I was thinking of getting away from the training. But, Lisa called and told me that you didn't come to babysit the kid. I tracked your house, and they locked me and asked me a few questions..."
Sal put her hand back on the bed with his hand still holding it, "I remember the tricks you told me, and I escaped. Man, I thought I would get caught and die, failing to find you..." he chuckled.
"On my way here, I found my supposed to-be-dead best friend, Moscol. He's one of us, you know, and he's in a cell somewhere in the basement downstairs..."
He stopped before letting out a ragged breath.
"He begged me to let him out of the cell. I wanted too, but I wanted to find you first. I promised him I would get him out. But, I don't know...how..."
Sal lay his head on the bed and lifted her hand to his cheeks.
He felt his heart ached more when her cold skin met his cheeks.
"But, I know you do," Sal said, closing his eyes.
Something moved on his cheeks, rubbing it gently, making Sal catch it and open his eyes with a surprise.
"I do, Sal. I do,"
