Chapter 41 That's Enough
924words
The man groaned in pain as he stands up unsteadily.
"That's enough, Keith."
Keith looked up when he heard footsteps stepping into the room.
"What now? I swear if it's nothing imp-"
"You might want to see what we've found." Dylan interrupted.
"Have you found her?" he asked, dismissing the newbie as his feet sped up out of the room.
His heart pumped hard as the long hallway made him want to destroy it for taking his time.
"Kind of," Dylan answered as his face hardened.
Keith stepped into the meeting room and saw the others surrounding Jack, who was typing on the keyboard with his fast fingers.
The others stepped back when he approached Jack.
"How is it?" he asked.
Jake looked at him, hesitantly, "I can tell you where she is, but you've got to behave."
"And why would I?" Keith tilted his head a bit watching him intensely.
"I found something but uh...it seems bad, but at the same time, it looks...fine."
His brain spins at the information. If it was something terrible and good at the same time, then they have to be careful.
"Fine. Tell me, where is she?"
"Its a mall at the end of the city. End Malls."
Keith was out of the room in a blink of an eye.
‘Wherever you are, I'm gonna find you and when I found you...'
He smirked.

Dylan gripped the steering wheel tightly as his stomach knotted uncomfortably. He cursed when the traffic light turns red.
His fingers tapped impatiently on the steering wheels. Letting out a ragged sigh, he swiped his fingers across his face.
He had been racking his brain, thinking of what Jenny told him five minutes ago.
Flashback
Dylan's phone rang just as Keith vanished to the garage.
"Hello?"
"Dyl..." hearing Jenny's sobs made his whole body alerted instantly.
"Jen? What's wrong?" he asked her as he walks out of the room.
"My mom..." his heart constricted at the pain in her voice.
"Where are you?" he rushed over to the garage and picked his Ford.
"Mylennia Hospital..."
"Wait for me. I'll be right there," he said before hanging up and starting his car.
End of Flashback
His thoughts immediately flew away when he heard a few honks behind him.
Dylan pressed on the pedal and zoomed past the heavy traffic, ignoring multiple honks of the cars around.
After what felt like one-hour rides, which in reality, only 10 minutes, he finally arrives at the hospital, parking his car near the entrance.
He stepped out of the car, closing the door before running into the hospital.
"I'm looking for Theresa Willis."
"She's in room 34W," the receptionist said as she batted her eyelashes at him.
Dylan ignored her as he dashed out to the lift and press the lift button. He gripped his hair in frustration at how slow the elevator is going.
He was so gonna make a complaint after this.
When the elevator door opened, he walks out and strides along the corridor searching for the room number. He knocked on the door after he finds it.
The sight in front of him tugged at his heart. Jenny was holding her mom's hand with her head on the bed.
He closed the door behind him before walking towards them. Jenny's soft snore could be heard from where he was standing.
Her hair was a mess, and her face was stained with tears making him frown more than he already did. He doesn't like seeing her in tears.
"Jen..." he tapped her shoulder to wake her up.
She stirred up and squinted her eyes at him. She blinked a few more times, trying to figure out who woke her up.
"Dyl...?" she stood up abruptly and leapt on him, making Dylan stumble a bit.
Her scent flared up to her nose. He hugged her back after gaining his composure as he inhaled her scent as much as he can. It smells sweet, and it was addicting.
"Its okay, baby..." he kissed her forehead and rubbed her back.
She stayed on his embrace as she sobs on his chest.
"You're strong, Jen. You know that right?" he asked her as he sat on the chair beside the hospital bed.
Dylan pulled her to him and sat Jenny gently on his lap as she snuggled on his neck. Her sobs gradually stopped into a sniff.
He stared at her sleeping mother on the bed. She was connected to wires all around her, to make her stay alive.
"How is she?" he asked Jenny.
She was playing with his fingers, trying to distract herself.
"Not good...she fainted...again..." she mumbles with a forlorn look.
A knock from the door startled them as a middle-aged woman walks into the room.
"Hi, I'm Dr Mai, and I am Theresa Willis attending doctor," she said as she walks to the other side of the bed.
"Nice to meet you, Dr Mai. I am Dylan, and this is my fiancee, Dr Jenny." he gave her a tiny smile.
"Oh, it's nice that I finally meet Dr-Crazy Workaholic-Jenny's fiancee." her face lit up as a grin appeared on her face.
"Crazy workaholic?" he asked, an amused smile appeared on his face.
She was about to open her mouth when Jenny interrupted her, "Dr Mia, if you spout nonsense like this again, I'll be glad to have a chat with Dr Robert." she said while frowning.
Base on the tone of Jenny's voice, it looks like she was more superior to Dr Mai.
