Vale hissed at the pain.

His loosens his hold on her.

What's wrong with him?

"I'm hungry," she said.

She's not going to listen to him anymore. It makes her shiver in a bad way.

"Me too," he said and picked her up bridal style again.

"I can walk." she pouted.

"And I'm starving." he pouted back and she rolled her eyes.

It was surprising how the tensions in the room slowly subsided.

They arrive at the kitchen, and he sat her on the barstool. He walks towards the fridge and started making food.

"You cooks?" her eyebrows shot in surprise and awe.

It was the first time she saw him cooking.

"Yeah. How do I live if I can't cook?" he asked with amusement in his eyes.

"You can eat outside." she pursed her lips.

"I don't trust them. They might poison or drug my meals." he stated.

"Or you could've hired a maid."

"Can't trust them either." he shrugged.

"What about me?" she chuckled.

He suddenly turns around, meeting her eyes.

"I trust you."

She gulped down her saliva, "B-but... "

Taken aback, she suddenly can't form any word on her mouth. It was like her tongue was tied up.

She was shaken, to be honest.

"Don't break my trust," he said before turning his back to her.

Why would he trust her?

Vale's heart began to speed up in nervousness.

This is not supposed to happen!

'Why would he trust me?'

He shouldn't.

He knows that she hated him for blackmailing her.

Plus, she's a gang leader now!

She had betrayed the gang!

'Oh, I'm in deep shit.'

She knew how betrayals feel like and she doesn't like it at all.

Now, she was torn inside.

She can't choose between responsibility and love!

'Do I love him?'

"You have a serious trust issue," she stated the obvious, gulping the sting in her heart.

"I know," he replies.

He finished cooking and put the meals on the table. They started eating. It doesn't taste bad.

They finish eating, and he stood up to put the plate on the sink and wash them.

As if possessed, Vale slowly stood up and walk towards him.

She hugged him from behind, closing her eyes.

'See?'

The attraction was too much to control. They were bound by a magnetic force.

He chuckles at her.

"What's with the hug?" he mocked her.

"Shut up!" she blushed.

She sighed before hugging him tighter. She literally can feel his abs.

"I'm scared," she confessed all of a sudden.

He finished washing the dishes and he grabs a towel to wipes his hands before turning to her.

"Don't worry. I'll protect you." he hugged her back.

"Why would you trust me, Keith? You shouldn't believe me. You know that I h-hate you. You're scaring the hell out of me." she looked up at his face.

'Can I ever trust him too? Or have I started trusting him? I've let him take care of me.'

"Too late. I already trust you, and you don't hate me. You don't hug and kiss the person you hate, am I right?" he said.

"Why?" she was frustrated.

She can't let him trust her.

He doesn't answer as he only leaned in and kissed her softly.

Vale froze.

'No, he can't do this to me! It's too much to take in!'

He pulled away and smiled at her.

Vale wanted to cry. Because it was too much.

He hugged me as tears slipped away and rolled down her cheeks.

Heck! She was scared as hell right now. She can't even think straight.

'What am I gonna do?'

"It's too much to take in." she sobbed.

"I'm sorry, princess. You have to know this. I can't stop this feeling for you. My heart yearned to be with you."

'W-what?!'

'He can't develop feelings for me. He can't!'

They stayed in this position for a while until he picks her up and heads back to his room. He laid beside her and pulled the covers on them before they drifted off to sleep.

Her dreams were full of frustration on what she will choose.
