Keith shook his head.
"No, it's not. If I hadn't put up the silly rules of mine, you would not be in this condition. I felt bad." he kissed her temple.
"Keith shut it. If I had known that they were luring me, I could run if I wanted to. Don't take the blame on you. I don't like it." she narrowed her eyes at him.
He hesitated and seems like he wanted to argue more but ended up sighing.
"Fine. How are you feeling?"
"I'm fine." she leaned more into his embrace and sighed in contentment.
Gotta enjoy this as much as she can while it lasts.
"Vale, I need to tell you something,"
"What?" she lifted her head.
"It's-" he sighed and rub his temple.
"Can you walk?" he asked out of the blue.
"Keith," Vale narrowed her eyes at him.
"Not now, Vale. Now, tell me. Can you walk?"
Vale moved, and he helped her to stand up. She tried walking but not without grimacing a lot.
He must of grow impatient when he picked her up bridal style, making her bit her cheeks to stop herself from blushing. His heart is beating so fast, and she can't help but chuckle at him.
"What's so funny, princess?" he glared at her.
"Your heart is beating so fast. Careful, don't let it jump. I can't catch it for you." she joked.
"Aww. But, I'm ready to catch yours, princess," he smirked.
Vale rolled her eyes at him.
He walked into the hallway and was about to step upstairs when they heard footsteps running at towards them.
"Vale!"
"Baby girl!" I heard a smack and Brett groaning.
"Hot chick!"
"Babe!"
Keith turned around, and she saw all of them smiling at her.
"Vale, how are you?"
She heard Lexy's voice. She stood on her tiptoe behind Brett trying to take a look at her.
"I'm fine. Thank you." she smiled at her.
"Your welcome! How about going to the club after you healed?" she asked.
Vale's eyes lit up at her idea.
"No! She's not going anywhere!" Keith growled as her face fell.
"Why not?" she whined.
Yes, she-fucking-whined.
"No and that's final," he stated before walking back upstairs.
The guys murmur downstairs as Vale glared at Keith hatefully. He brought me to his room.
She rolled her eyes at him, "I have my own room here, Keith." she scoffed.
"Feel special. You're the first girl that I ever bring in my room." he retorted back.
Vale's eyes went wide in shock. She didn't expect the rumours to be true.
He put her down on his bathroom.
She walked around slowly and look at her face on the mirror.
Damn! Her appearance is truly ghastly.
She wonders how they still recognize her, though.
"Can you shower by yourself? I can help if you want." he offers smirking.
"Dream off. I can shower by myself." Vale shot Keith a glare.
Only now did she noticed the dark eye bag and the tired face he wears.
She was about to ask him when he walks out, closing the door behind him as he laughs.
Vale stripped and shower, ignoring the pain on her body. She walked out from the shower and grabbed a towel that was prepared on the sink and dried herself. She walked out of the bathroom with the towel strapped on her body.
He was sitting on the bed. His elbows on his legs and his fingers rubbing his temple with his eyes closed, thinking.
"Keith?" she called out.
His head shot up, and his eyes darken at the sight of her. His Adam apple bobbled up and down.
Though she felt insecure about her body that was full of scars and bruise, she still blushed.
"Stay," he said before standing up and enter the bathroom.
Vale walked towards his closet and pick up his shirt and his boxers. The shirt was large, so it reached her mid-thigh.
She walked towards the bed and sat leaning on the headboard. Closing her eyes.
After a few minutes, he came back with a towel hanging low on his waist. she gulped and quickly closed her eyes back.
Her mind wanders on that night's event. She wonders what would happen if Lance decided to kill her right after torturing her on the alley.
Would she be left to die alone and helpless on the road?
"Vale?"
The bed shifted beside her.
Vale open her eyes, "Y-yeah?"
"I need to tell you something but promise me you won't get mad." his tone was serious.
"I can't promise you." she answered honestly.
"You have to." his face grows hard.
"Fine, I promise." she gave up, shrugging his shoulders.
"You're not going to work at that company anymore," he stated.
"What? No!" Vale immediately fumed.
Her parents are gonna kill her.
"I already told Nancy to gave your resignation letter to the boss."
Vale clenched her fist in anger.
"And you're going to stay in this mansion until you're fully healed. That's final," he added.
Vale gritted her teeth.
She just wanted to shout at him right now.
She closed her eyes and exhale loudly, trying to calm down.
"My parents are gonna kill me." she whispered.
He inched closer and lifted her on his lap, hugging her close to his body.
She remains stilled.
"I'm sorry, but your safety comes first to me," he whispers to her ear.
Vale huffed.
Why would Keith suddenly care?
"Why do you care?"
"I care for you, princess. I'm not going to lie," he confessed.
"This is nonsense, Keith. What are we? I decided my action on my own. I decided what happen to me. I can only care for me. You have nothing to do with my life." she bit back her lip feeling a bit guilty on her harsh words.
He stiffened on her words and his hold on Vale was starting to hurt her.
"Oh, trust me, princess. I played a big part in your life," he said to her in a warning tone.
