Then the kids had started arguing and they wasted a lot of time trying to let them make peace with each other, they went away a few minutes earlier and they were still at odds with each other, Sapphire guessed that she would let Alexander deal with it, since the man seems to be the one who knows them the best nowadays.
'Don't touch me, Mr. Aldine. I would appreciate it very much if you get your hands off me before I cut it off with a knife," She told him leisurely and he raised a surprise brow at her.
'Don't tell me that you are still grumpy about what happened yesterday night," he told her but she only focused on washing the plate. 'That wasn't even my fault. The kids had a nightmare and they came to our room when we were about to …"
'I dare you to say that word, Mr. Aldine," She threatened.
'Okay, I get that you were frustrated, but shouldn't you be glad that we are there when they have such a nightmare?" he asked but she only sighed.
He opened the faucet and let the clean water rinse her hand.
'You…" she yelled but swallowed her words when he suddenly grabbed her by her shoulder and turned her to face him, her back resting on the cabinet.
She stared up at him breathlessly, the man's eyes told her all what his mouth wasn't saying and she understood it all, so when his lips descended on her, she met it with the same level of brute force.
Clasping her hand behind his neck and using it to draw him closer to her while they ravished each other, his hand was still resting on her waist and they just kissed, glued to each other and none of them ready to move back.
He raised her lips from his and stared at her face, his hand raised to her face and his finger caressed her cheeks, she could see the lust, adoration, care but mostly love, it was written all over his face.
She knows when a man is in love with a woman, heck, she once played the role of a matchmaker back then when she was still in high school, she had seen what your eyes look like when you are in love with someone, she once saw that Oliver was in love with her.
But this man…
Alexander was head over heels for her and he doesn't hesitate to show it, even though he talks to her and her kids often, and playfully, he is still a man of few words.
'I love you Sapphire," he told her and she smiled at him, closing her hand and raising her hand to take his and intertwining it.
'I know," she told him with a small but sweet smile. 'And I love you too, I would always do and be here as long as you would have me too. I would never leave you," She promised.
'I would always do, I..." he said, but trailed off, he didn't seem to be finding the perfect words he needed. 'I don't know how to…" he said and she tightened their hands, resting her head on his chest.
'Don't worry Alexander, I understand. The deepest of feelings have no description, there would be no words that would be perfect to describe it," she told him and he nodded, raising his free hand to pat her head.
Alicia, Claire and Luci who were standing at the top of the stairs which had a direct view to the kitchen, looked at one another's face and smiled happily.
'God, they are so perfect for each other," Alicia said and Claire nodded in agreement, a smile on her lips.
'I am so happy that after it all, Sapphire found her home," Luci said and Claire nodded once again, a thoughtful glint in their eyes.
They were the most happy about their relationship, after all, they were the ones who knew most about her pain.
Alicia was glad that Alexander was able to move from the doubt Shirley buried in his heart and bare his heart to Sapphire, after all, she is the one that knew most about the angry nights and the one when he suffered from the pain of betrayal.
'I hope nothing breaks them," Claire said, raising her phone to snap a picture, she smiled at it and showed it to other.
'That came out pretty good," Luci said.
'Now, let's give them their own privacy," Alicia said, dragging a reluctant Luci with her while Claire followed with a small chuckle.
'No…no. Let me have a clearer look on this cute moment, I don't happen to see it often. How about another picture?" She asked and they both rolled their eyes at her as they walked away.
'But, God, I wish you know what I feel anytime you are and aren't with me," he groaned in frustration, pulling to stare at her face, paying attention to the smallest of details.
'I know.. I have got the rest of my life to know more, why should we rush it?" She told him.
'Let's have a wedding," he told her and she stared at him with wide eyes.
'What?"
'We haven't had our wedding, I want our wedding picture everywhere in this big house, I want it on our bedside table and when you are not there when I wake up, I would still see you first."
'Alexander..."
'What day should we have it? Friday? Monday? Where would you want us to go for our honeymoon? Just name anywhere. Where should we have the wedding? Should we fly out of the country and have it somewhere you have always dreamed of? What theme would you prefer?" He asked seriously, and Sapphire stared at him with wide eyes, she leaned up and used her lips to silence him, amusement playing in her eyes.
'Calm down Xander, I just told you that I would be here as long as you would have me. We have forever ahead of us, the entirety of our lives," she told him and he nodded, a small smile appearing on his lips, he nodded firmly.
He raised her head to plant a kiss on her lips and it was almost touching when her phone rang, he held her to the spot when she tried to move.
'Alexander, the phone is ringing," she told him but he shook her head.
'Don't mind it," he replied, trying to really kiss her but she held him off.
'Nope, I would mind it, it must be important if they come this late at night," she told him and got out of his embrace which made a pout form on his lips, Sapphire chuckled, she wondered if he knew that he did that.
'Hi," She said, picking up the phone.
'Who the hell calls a woman this late at night without fearing being murdered by their husband," he said, turning to fold the sleeve of his shirt and went to continue washing the dish left by her, she raised a brow at him surprise but he didn't see her gesture because he was busy muttering what asshole the person.
'Hello Sapphire," A manly voice said on the other side and she furrowed her brow in surprise, the voice sounded oddly familiar.
'Excuse me, but who is this?" she asked.
'Sapphire. This is Theo," he said but she still didn't remember knowing anyone named Gray.
'Theo…"
'Theo Gray, Oliver's Grandfather," He said and Sapphire eyes widened a fraction in surprise, she stared at Alexander who raised a brow at her when she didn't talk.
'I must be pretty special if the old Mr. Gray, who likes to only deal with matters during the day, calls me late at night.
Why are you calling me, Mr. Gray?" she asked, her voice turning icy, she wasn't a big fan of her ex in-law, sh
e still isn't and judging by the frown that was on Alexander's face, he didn't like him too.
