She turned to look at her sister and uncle and her lips turned up in an arrogant smirk.
'I don't want to be anywhere near all these people, working in the same space as them would suffocate them, I am afraid most people would see my potential and say I deserve their position better than they do," she finalized condescendingly, staring Melissa down.
'You must think that you are the shit because of Alexander, don't forget that the union is a result of an arranged marriage, what husband?" Melissa said, staring into Sapphire's eyes and scoffed at the ridiculous words she was spewing.
'You guys are not even married yet!" she told her and Sapphire nodded, she dusted her hands and carried her bag that she had placed on the table when she sat to eat.
It is clear that she was getting ready to leave.
'Yep! You are right, I know that I am the shit but you can tell all the rest of those theories of yours to the man that calls me his wife and grins whenever I call him husband and my children call him daddy," Sapphire replied, before walking past her, hitting her shoulder on hers deliberately.
'Come here kids," Sapphire told her children, walking to her grandmother who still had his eyes trained on, she glanced at her mother who stared at her in disgust, she smiled at the woman and Marylynne grimaced.
'I am going to visit you privately, grandma, thanks so much for inviting me for dinner, I really enjoyed the meal," She said with a smile that genuinely reached her eyes, she bent down and hugged her grandmother.
'Thank you for having us ma'am" Andrea said and Emiliana smiled at her grandchildren.
'You can visit us at the Aldine's mansion or we can meet at Grandpa's house," Andrew added.
'I would make sure to invite you over and we would catch up on a lot of issues. I do want you to reconsider your thoughts about my proposal, I thought about it a lot before offering it to you," she pleaded and Sapphire sighed. 'Please."
Sapphire couldn't let her beg her any longer, she was staring at her with those hopeful eyes and she didn't have any other option than to nod.
'Okay, I would make sure I think about it," She replied, reluctantly. 'Make sure to come over sometimes Max and Matt, the door is always open for you guys and thanks for the gift Matt. Claire just gave them to me before I came here, said she forgot about it or something," Sapphire added, referring to the beautiful bracelet Claire had given her earlier.
It is a cute little thing but it is expensive though, anyone would be able to guess that.
'Saw it and thought that it would fit you, send a picture of it to me when you use it," Matthew said with a smile and Sapphire chuckled.
'Just tell her that you are finding excuses to get her picture on your phone," Andrea teased and the five of them laughed, even Emiliana chuckled.
'You know how to fish them all out, go, go, Detective Andrea," Maxwell said and she faked a serious expression.
'Well, as much as I would like to bask in all the glory, I must say that Andrew also helped me," Andrea said with a fake British accent, pointing to Andrew who was chatting with Ruby, they were saying their goodbyes to her and they all laughed.
Melissa stared at them as they all laughed and talked comfortably among themselves, she couldn't remember the last time the corners of her grandmother's eyes crinkled in happiness but here she was with a full grin on her lips.
They made her feel like a stranger in her own house, she wondered if they were doing it on purpose or not, she remembered that this is the way they used to leave Sapphire out of conversations five years ago, they told her not to butt in and made her feel so uncomfortable that she would feel awkward if she even utter a single word.
'Didn't your parents teach you to say greetings to your elders when you are leaving?" Felix asked Sapphire who was walking to the exit with her kid, Ruby and Maxwell was trailing behind them.
'My parents never taught me, you got amnesia?" Sapphire said, sarcastically.
'Don't talk to me the way you talk to others, Sapphire, know your place," he told her menacingly and she chuckled.
'No, you should know your place and stay put in one place, I am doing my absolute best to ignore your damn pathetic existence, why don't you do me a favor and make it mutual? I promise that you won't like it if I give you my full attention" Sapphire replied and didn't wait for his response before exiting the dining room.

'Why would the baby end up in a small orphanage in the smallest city in France? I thought they were registered at a boarding school," Alexander asked, a frown on his face and Nate nodded his head in agreement.
'The principal of the school said that she came one afternoon and withdrew the baby from the school, not giving them any reason which was the first red flag and then she was acting suspicious, she was very jumpy and it seems like she was trying to hide them.
She told us that the nanny that was in charge of her baby at that time also tried to greet her and hug the babies for the last time but she screamed at her to get lost and ran away.
The nanny thought that there must be something wrong with the woman and the way she was trying to hide the kids, so she trailed her, it became easier for her to keep track of her because they happened to be neighbors.
She used to come and live in the house whenever she was in France, many people from the neighborhood speculated that she usually comes when she has business in town," he explained.
'So the nanny kept track of her movement and saw her drop the baby off at the orphanage?" Alexander asked and Nate shook his head.
'Not exactly that. Ms. Shirley went to the orphanage and spoke to the ones in charge, got out of the place like she went to have a chat with them and without the baby. A month later, a delivery woman came to the house and they never heard the cries of the kids again.
The nanny was worried and finally summoned courage to go to her house to ask about it only to discover that Ms. Shirley was not around, our further investigation told us that she also came back to NY that day.
The nanny had to pick up a kid from the orphanage to send to the boarding school, the kid would be sponsored by a rich couple that came from the city and that's where she saw the baby being taken care of by the orphanage, we did further investigation on our own since it was dead end for the nanny, she never heard of the kids again.
We discovered the woman who went to Ms. Shirley's house that day was just employed by the orphanage, she was disguised as a delivery woman in order to get the baby away without arousing suspicion from the neighbors, she dropped all the goodies she brought in her house and took the kids away to the orphanage, she left the orphanage shortly after for personal reasons.
The nanny started asking questions about the baby and how she got into the orphanage, where her mother is and how they ended up here because she was sure she never saw the woman carry the baby there. The director of the orphanage informed Ms. Shirley of the woman who kept asking questions, Ms. Shirley came in person, and made sure the nanny saw her take her baby and flew away from France."
'Then?" He asked when his assistant was too quiet for too long, he did not appreciate the fact that he is trailing off now.
'She board a plane to New Zealand and we lost track of her once again," he answered and Alexander slammed his hand on the table in front of him, he stood up and insert his hand in the pockets of his pants, staring at the view of the city, a frown was on his face and he looked so angry that he would kill someone.
'Damn it!" He cursed.

Oliver opened the door and stared at Heather who was sitting on the bed and exhaled, she had a bandage wrapped around her hair and her phone was in her hand, a small smile on her face.
'Heather," he called her name and she smiled at him.
'Hi, darling," she said, beaming at him, the adoration with which she used to stare at him was back in her eyes and showing glaringly, the horror she felt when she realized that Oliver was going to abandon her was gone.
'How is your head?" He asked, he just finished having a discussion with an investor who is concerned about the bad news spreading like wildfire and slowly affecting Sparkle and he did his best to assure him, he had to ground himself from yelling at the damn man, he went to him straight after he took Venita back to the Conrad mansion.
'I was feeling a bit under the weather but now that my sweetheart is here, I feel good!" She exclaimed with a grin.
