Breaking off her gaze, Anastasia smiled sheepishly at Draco who was looking at her with amusement. They'd been training all morning and apparently, she couldn't take her eyes off Draco's sweaty upper body. He was half-naked and wore only pants. All throughout the morning, he'd been guiding her on exercising her arms and torso so that she would have more stamina and strength.
She had to admit, she wasn't the strong type of woman. But she sure wished to be like one. The mansion was filled with men and women in uniform to serve them. She wondered if the women were strong as the guys. Anastasia could really use some inspiration. But for now, she should finish what she started.
"Oh, sorry," she apologized, looking up at Draco with guilty eyes. "Let's try again."
"Alright try to punch me again," he replied with more seriousness. "Think that I'm your enemy."
Anastasia took a deep breath. She couldn't possibly think of Draco as her enemy but she had to try. Draco was wearing blockers and she was wearing boxing gloves. As soon as she began punching, Draco kept pushing her to her limits. "Keep punching, baby. Hit me harder!"
Anastasia groaned, hitting him with all her strength. She knew it would take some time until she'd learn to fight but she vowed she'd learn one way or another.
"That's it!" Draco continued, urging her to give her best. A few more punches landed until she heard movements from behind her. She heard men's gasps and a few more murmurs from women. But she focused on hitting her Alpha, not wasting a second.
Draco grinned, giving her a sign to take a break. "Good job, little mate." Then he took a towel from Jenny who went straight to his side. "We'll resume after a few minutes."
Anastasia nodded, feeling her whole body sweating. Jenny gave her a face towel. "Thanks, Jenny."
"My pleasure, Luna."
"It's good to see you training, Luna," someone spoke up from behind Jenny. Beta Edward came up from behind and bowed down in greeting. "Are you ready for a match?"
"Uh, I just started," Anastasia reasoned and he gave her a chuckle.
"I'll be here when you're ready."
"Don't get ahead of yourself, Edward," Alpha Draco spoke from behind him. He quickly moved aside. "Once she's ready, I'll make sure she still won't have to fight with someone else. Only me."
"Well, that seems selfish," Amanda, who came out of nowhere, commented. Everyone, even the other guys, turned to look at her. "I believe she should know who she's dealing with. So she could prepare. Instead of waiting for something she's unaware of."
"But who am I dealing with? Who's trying to kill me?" Anastasia questioned. Everyone had been hiding a lot of things from her since the beginning. Amanda was right. She had a right to know.
"We don't speak his name," Edward said. "But he's become stronger. He's a long time enemy to the pack."
"Well.. this werewolf killer might find me in the future and I might as well know something about him."
"The pack had a long history with him and we'd rather not talk about the past," Edward explained. "Some of us choose to forget."
"Our Luna should know our past if she ought to be our Luna," Amanda spoke up, trying to make sense.
"But this isn't the right time."
"Stop," the Alpha's deep voice boomed and everyone fell silent. "No one's taking my little mate and no one's going to hurt her." Then he looked down at her, his eyes painted with so much sincerity. "I'll protect her."
Anastasia sighed. "I know you will, but this is my life we're talking about. Don't you think I have a right to do what I want?"
Draco took one last look at her and sighed. "Fine."
Anastasia smiled. She couldn't believe this was the same man that was cold to her from the past. "Thank you."
"You'll be training with the guys and Jenny can help too," Edward stated with new motivation.
"Jenny?" Anastasia asked. She hadn't ever seen Jenny train and it seemed all she did was serve her and buy her clothes. Was she a fighter too?
Jenny smiled at her. "You might have known me a long time, Luna, but there's so much more I can do that you haven't seen yet."
Anastasia looked at everyone with awe. Even Amanda was smiling. "Of course, all of you are fighters! Werewolves are known to be great fighters. You fight with enhanced strength and heightened senses."
"How do you know that?" Draco asked, amused.
"I've read some of your books." Anastasia chuckled. Everyone seemed to have lived longer than she could ever imagine. She knew, for sure, they had seen and known so much that she couldn't know through 18 years of her life. Man, she was ready to be a fighter. She was ready to be a werewolf.
But she couldn't help but wonder, was she truly a werewolf? She hadn't felt anything different. Not even a sign that she could be a werewolf. What if she was human? What if she couldn't produce pups with Alpha Draco? She might as well be called the worst Luna ever.
All throughout the day, Anastasia trained together with Draco. All the other werewolves sat by to watch them. Anastasia felt the pressure but she knew they were just there to encourage and help her. They taught her different tactics and ways to get the best of her opponent. It just happened that her opponent was the great Alpha Draco.
"He's the best there is," Oliver had told her.
However, Edward said, "He took all of us in one fight once."
"Oh, I remember that!" John laughed.
"When was that?" Anastasia asked, confused.
"When you've tried to reject him," Jacob answered.
"Even when he's hurt and blinded with anger, he could use it to become stronger," Thomas said. "That's a rare talent."
"If he could take all of you in one fight, how can I ever take him on a match?" Anastasia questioned.
"Don't worry, you have something we don't," Edward replied, knowingly.
Anastasia resisted the urge to roll her eyes. "And what's that?"
"His heart."
