She climbed onto his back as he ran back to the mansion. Being on his back felt like she was flying. He was fast. She had to hold him tightly. When they reached the gates, Anastasia could still hear the sound of music from the pool. Draco shifted back to his human form and looked as if he was ready to pounce on her. She quickly covered him again with her shawl.
With a laugh, he pinched her cheek.
Even in the darkness, she could see him taking something from beside the gate. It was his shorts. Blushing, she looked away as he wore them.
"Why are you embarrassed? You've seen it before."
From her side, she glared at him. "Doesn't mean I should just look at it."
"Oh, baby doll, you can look at it all you want. No one's stopping you."
He was just so good at teasing her, wasn't he? "No, thanks," she replied, rolling her eyes. "Besides, I've never seen a naked guy before."
"I know," he answered knowingly, as if he knew all her secrets. Right then, she couldn't help but look at him. He seemed different all of a sudden. How come she'd never seen this side of him before? Perhaps he was right. If she had met him before, things would've been different.
It wasn't like she had something or someone to compare him to. Well, she had a few crushes back then but she'd never gotten close to being in a relationship.
"You must be tired," he spoke as he looked down at her.
Anastasia blinked her eyes, her thoughts fading away. She really was starting to feel sleepy. "So tired," she replied with a pout.
He turned his back to her and crouched down in front of her. Anastasia frowned in confusion.
"Hop on my back," he told her and she was just too weak to refuse him. With a sigh, she hugged his back and he carried her towards the pool where everyone was still partying.
"Alpha Draco," someone called and when she saw who it was, her sight completely had darkened. Before her was the girl who's talking to Draco in the pool earlier.
The woman flipped her hair as she saw him. "Everything's ready," she said so sweetly.
Ready for what? Anastasia wondered. Did they have some secret thing to do together? Why did she even worry? She seemed like a sweet woman. She had dark blonde hair and she was tanned. Not to mention sexy too.
"Good," he responded.
Without another word, he walked past her and she couldn't see his reaction at all. But the woman continued on smiling. Anastasia couldn't bother to smile back. Everyone watched as they left the pool party. Normally, she would feel embarrassed but right now it just felt like she didn't even care.
Draco walked long strides and took her towards the bedroom. He let her stand on her feet and she walked towards the bathroom. Anastasia saw him sitting on the bed as she closed the bathroom door. Brushing all her thoughts away, she quickly washed herself and wore some comfy clothes.
Once she was done, she walked out and saw him reading a book. Anastasia laid herself down on the soft bed and feel so sleepy all of a sudden. Draco finally put down the book and walked over to her.
"So who is she?" she couldn't help but ask, breaking the ice of silence between them. He looked confused for a moment. She couldn't help but roll her eyes.
When he still pretended he didn't know what she was talking about, she said, "The girl you just talked to? I saw you with her in the pool earlier too and you seem to be having fun together."
"What? Wendy?" he asked in disbelief. "Is something wrong?"
"No, nothing's wrong," she answered nonchalantly. "I'm glad you're having fun with her."
"I don't—Wait, are you jealous?"
