Chapter 188

"I asked, what are you doing in my room beta Jaxon? at this time really?" I scoffed, pulling my blanket and covering myself with it. "Do you not know how to respect your elders?"
I'm over 600 years old for pete's sake yet I'm still getting embarrassed by this kid in front of me!
After an awkward silence, he said with a solemn expression. "The Alpha king.. he left already."
Hmm.
So that's it.
But It was weird. He was unfazed at how i was being flustered and he just continued to frown by sitting at my window. His head down, that's when i realized that this was the first time I've seen him so defenseless.
He looked like a lost puppy.
"But he said he'll come back right?" I said, trying to reassure him to lift his spirits up
"Do you really believe that?" He chuckles bitterly. "He's infiltrating mist by himself, do you think he'll really come back?"
"He's not called an Alpha King for nothing." I said with confidence and sat on my bed. "So what are you doing in my room? did you want a shoulder to cry to Beta Jaxon?"
I was just teasing him but to my surprise, he took it seriously. He walks towards me and sat by my side. I was too shocked that i didn't notice that his head was already resting on my shoulder.
I flinched when he started talking.
"I can't sense any dark magic in you anymore. This is the first time i felt so comfortable being beside you like this." He mumbles.
"Oh really?" I said, unsure if i should be delighted or insulted.
"But seeing that you often have nightmares like this, i should've really killed that leech when i had the chance." He said, a tone of irritation in his voice.
I chuckled. "Even if you wanted to, I'll stop you."
"Why? Is he important to you?"
Important?
I shook my head. "He's useful. That's all there is. You know how hectic these days are. We shouldn't be picky and use everything within our reach."
It was the truth, i don't have any reason to refuse such a tempting offer. Although i may not be able to use my magic freely from now on, it's not that great compared to getting information about the exact location of Mist territory.
He chuckles bitterly. "Everyone is laying down their lives right now, and i would also gladly do so. But the thought that Alpha King Zyrus is also risking his life right now scares me."
He sits up straight. "The Alpha King saved me, if it wasn't for him. I wouldn't be standing here right now."
At that time, i wanted to ask him just how did they meet but since i thought that we're not really that close to be discussing things like that. So I just let it be, respecting his privacy by patting his back. "Everyone of us is grateful to him just like you said, and that's more the reason why we should trust him."
That's right, Even the Alpha King saved me before. He provided for me a place to stay when i just escaped from the Magnus family. If it weren't for his protection, unfortunate Dark witches like me would be continued to be butchered like animals.
He stares at me. "I'm just curious.. but how did you become a dark witch?"
"Curiosity kills the cat." I smiled, my eyes telling him that it's a subject i don't want to talk about.
"Nevermind." He sighs. "Well, since the Alpha King handed the Pack to us for the meantime, let's discuss about more things."
"Fine." I sighed. He's down already, if i say something to irritate him he might just throw me out in my on room. "Let's do that, but just for a while okay? After all, the vampires will be attacking today."
He nods.
♛ CHARLES POV ♛
It's time.
I smirked, seeing all my men lined up in front of me. I inspected each of their physical health and their current state of my mind to see how far they could take. Since i provided them with enough demon energy inside of them, i was assured that it would be a piece of cake.
To infiltrate RedBloodMoon that is.
"At Midnight, we rise," I said. "Today is the day we strike fear to the Alpha King's people! I shall not forgive anyone who dares to make such feeble mistake at my sight! Got it?"
"Yes Milord!"
"Good."
I opened the Mist's portal in front of them, large enough to house 500 people at once. As soon as it finished expanding, i turned towards them and ushered them to go inside the portal that leads directly to the CenterCity.
They all ran towards inside.
After a process of them entering, it was only me left to go now. but something stops me. At the corner of my eyes, i was surprised to see someone from the Magnus family striding towards me.
Ramuel.
"Greetings Milord!" He smiles as soon as he steps in front of me. "Looks like everything is in place?"
"Yes, what brings you here?" I raised an eyebrow. "Last time i checked, shouldn't the head of the families stationed at their designated places?"
I made sure to tell them twice now, so what the hell is this idiot doing in front of me?
"Yes.. about that." He tilts his head playfully. "I think i need more men!"
"What?" I hissed in anger.
Need more men? The Magnus family houses about 1/3 of the Vampire's population. Is he fucking kidding me right now?
I grabbed his collar, "I don't have time to joke around with you."
He smirks. "I'm not either Milord. i just want to inform you that When we arrived at our designated places, the werewolves were already expecting us."
What?
There was something in his eyes that i couldn't understand. It wasn't hostility nor desperation about the current situation but only utter amusement. Seeing his expression, i was left with no choice but to believe him.
"What are you trying to say?" I let go of him.
"It's just what you heard." He shrugged his shoulder. "Multiple witches and werewolves were waiting at the opposite side to ambush us. Going as far as to close the portal forcefully, some of the heads haven't been able to go back yet."
"No." I mumbled in disbelief.
I looked towards the portal and hastily ran towards inside of it. Once i did, my eyes widened when i saw huge flames around the city and my men running amok around me.
That's when dark magic started to chain my limbs, i turned towards my side and saw hundreds of Dark witches stationed around me. My anger overwhelmed me when they started to close the portal.
"How dare you!" I screamed, releasing a monstrous amount of demon energy to kill the Dark witches around me. They all flew in different directions and i could care less even when some of my men got caught in it.
I clenched my jaw.
It was annoying enough that someone leaked our plans, to think that they even dare to boldly close the portal while i was standing beside it is unforgivable!
Tsk, the whole city was in flames, did they already abandon the Center City?
But why?
Wait a minute.
I looked behind me and saw that the portal had close down already after seeing the werewolves and witches that started to fall back. As if they never intentioned to attack us in the first place.
They.. they did all of this just to close the damn portal?
That's when i finally realized.
"The mist.. Christal!"
♔ CHRISTAL's POV ♔
I'm bored.
I got up from my bed after hours of sleeping once again. It was the only thing i could do since i was deprived from any entertainment in this room. Although Charles did change the interior into a more lively once, it still lacks vitality just like in Red Blood Moon.
I laid on my soft bed after feeling i have no energy to do anything right now. I placed an arm on top of my eyes and muttered. "I don't have the right to go back now."
It's today.
Today they'll kill hundreds of people in Red Blood Moon, and i? I'm an accomplice that caused their deaths.
I chuckled, do i even have the privilege to worry about others now? I can't even save myself. I only have half a soul left, and Gina won't respond to anything i say.
See?
Pathetic.
Suddenly, the ground started to vibrate violently. Making me jolt up from my laying position to inspect what was happening, the chandelier above me was swinging back and forth and i was starting to hear screams all around the castle
"What the hell?" I said in disbelief when the vibration finally stops, but the voices didn't.
I got up and slowly opened the door. Even though i don't have any power to fight anyone right now, my feet eventually led me to the front entrance of the castle, my nightgown reaching the ground, i almost slipped when i caught a glimpse of a horrifying scene in front of me.
A tower of dead servants and the one who was standing on top was no other than my mate, his back facing me. I couldn't help but take a step back in panic.
But just like how stupid I am, I slipped because of the dress and let out a low scream.
I quickly covered my mouth.
