The alphas and betas also hurried out from the Driscus manor, each of us returning to our packs since the whole society was on high alert due to the recent ongoing feud with the vampires.
After finally reaching his pace, i immediately complained. "What was that about knowing the location of Mist territory? that was never in the plan?!"
"He's right!" Syrena steps in. "Just what were you thinking when you said that? we already agreed to let her take all the blame right? doing so will lessen their suspicious towards us- it's not like she'll be hurt anyway, she's got that vampire on her side!"
The Alpha King stops, so we stopped too.
"I can't take it." He sighs, "I don't want the whole werewolf society to hunt my mate down. That was the only way that i could think of to divert their attention away from her, if i didn't say that then they would've pushed the matter even further-"
The Alpha king suddenly gasps, losing his balance, we quickly headed to his side to support him.
He held his chest in pain, "W-What was that?"
"What is it?" I asked, worried as to why he suddenly lost his own standing,
"My wolf is crying." He clenched his jaw, "damn it, something must've happened to her."
He was panting pretty hard, and just by the look of his muscles that was bulging out from anger. It was no mistake to think that he won't lose control and try to find luna Christal helplessly even without any clue where she is the first place.
I nudged Syrena, calling her for help.
"Calm down." Syrena panics, placing her hand on the alpha king.
Alpha King Zyrus abruptly growls angrily at her action, "Don't fucking touch me!"
"Alpha King please! this is not the time to be foolishly acting on instinct! didn't i tell you?!"
"Fuck!" He curses, stomping away from us.
Still, i was thankful that it ended just with that. We both let out a sigh in relief before following along behind him towards back to the Red Blood Moon. We went straight ahead to his office since it was a protocol that we had to follow whenever a meeting was adjourned.
Since he went ahead of us, we were a bit worried as we waited patiently on the door even after knocking a few times.
"He's not answering."
"He's there," Syrena says bluntly.
I sighed, "What is taking him so long? we already fixed that damned hole he made last time right? don't tell me he escaped by blasting another wall?"
"Be patient, he must have his reasons."
"You're unbelievably patient despite being a dark witch?" I asked, giving her a skeptical look.
"I also have my reasons." She smirks.
"I see."
After a while, the door finally opens.
As soon as he let us in, i quickly roamed around the office to see any damage that must've happened while we weren't there. Thankfully there wasn't as i finished observing, i give out a sigh, placing a palm on my chest.
Thank god i don't have to call another human to fix the damages in this chaotic days.
"What are you doing."
I turned behind me, a displeased alpha king giving me a 'Do you want to die?' look.
I gulped, "W-Well i was just worried that i have to do extra work so i was just making sure."
Shit, that came out wrong.
"What?" He says annoyed, Syrena holding her laughter.
"I mean! i was just checking for intruders, you never know!"
Then they both give me a 'Are you an idiot? who would dare intrude in the alpha king's office?' look.

Just by seeing how their expression became sync made me slouch in dismay, my soul leaving out my body as i felt exhausted dealing with the problems in the pack.
I mean who wouldn't? a beta is a second in command, which obliges rule and attends to the pack's needs in replacement of the alpha. But ever since i got designated to this position, i've been dealing with house chores, work, and even babysitting this alpha who has temper issues-
I face-palmed myself.
"Being a beta sure is tiring," I mumbled.
"Stop complaining, we have tons to talk about." Syrena scolds me, using her hand to call me back to his desk. I just nodded and followed along.
After the Alpha king sits down, he speaks up nonchalantly. "Don't worry, i won't be acting recklessly like last time."
We both sighed in relief.
"That's good alpha King, that's the first step you should take if you really want to be with her this time." Syrena says.
"It's just.." He places a palm on his forehead, "I've been getting this bad feeling that something bad is happening to her. My instincts are screaming at me to go to her side."
"But if you go there, you'll end up getting everyone killed. Although i'm not aware just how much do werewolves prioritize their mates, i think that's not enough of a reason to give up everything that you have taken responsibility for. Atleast, if you're trying to get yourself killed like a fool, might as well plan things to ensure the pack won't easily fall after your disappearance."
My jaw drops in disbelief, i was so shocked that Syrena has been speaking her mind lately without any fear to the alpha king. I mean i knew she was older than any of us, but it still shocks me that she could change so suddenly after luna Christal's disappearance. She was even eager to accept her death in the hands of the Alpha king.
As if she already made up her mind about something.
"I know, stop your scolding, I have already heard enough." Alpha king Zyrus growls lowly.
"We have lots to talk about my king, including what you just said in the meeting earlier. What's with when you said we know that location of Mist territory?"
"We will know where it is." he says confidently.
Both me and Syrena jaws drops, "What?!" I exclaimed in panic. "Wait a minute! you're saying we'll know where that myth place is!!? no one have every discovered where it is after so many years, so how can you be sure we'll find it?!"
Is our Alpha king insane?! he wants us to find the Mist territory that was only mentioned in books and some dry records?
I must've heard it wrong!
"Because she's there, so we'll find her. Whenever she is, I'm sure i'll find her eventually." He says with determined eyes, his mouth curling into amusement. "After all, we're both tangled in a shitty curse."
I frowned.
It hasn't been long after the Alpha king read the report from Syrena about her findings of the curse that luna Christal was aiming for, it's mostly thanks to Amber of Stone pack that we were able to get hands on such an important piece of information.
What's more, she even revealed that some of the recorded documents were stored in the Alpha king's private library.
It was perplexing.
Seeing his expression, he must've read all of it already.
Syrena sighs, "There's one more thing, Amber gave me a diary- numerous diaries from past vessels of the curse."
My eyes widened.
"It was hard to read at first due to the text fading from old age, but since it was also sustained by some kind of magic, i was able to decipher some parts of it." She nervously says.
"What does it say?"
"It says.." She frowns, "It says that every vessel that was involved in the curse was subjected to be killed or to kill. There was no other way, even if you try running away from each other, fate will eventually bring them together again just to accomplish the end of their cursed lives. The one who always leaves unscathed is the one holding Alpha king Yasha's soul, and in the end of their statements, they always said that they see a golden bow and arrow appearing before the cursed moment."
"Gandiva?" Alpha King Zyrus mumbles in thought.
"Yes, the demi-god's weapon. I have researched about this weapon. There wasn't much about it since demi-gods were the rarest creatures to be ever found in this land, still, i managed to find some interesting piece of information about it."
"What is it?" His eyebrow furrowing in curiosity.
"The gods and goddess, allowed the demi-god Gina to live as a living weapon to destroy Alpha King Yasha."
