Chapter 164

How problematic!
Alpha King Zyrus sighs. "She already lost her sanity, i doubt she'll let you see her memories so easily."
It's true, if a person becomes determined to block any memories, anyone could actually do it. Doing so will make it harder for us to find any information about the current problems we are facing right now.
But still!
"Even so! we could just use other methods to do it! Killing her right now is not giving us any advantages." I said in a low voice, careful that i don't aggravate him too much.
"Killing her is indeed a disadvantage. But i can't see her state any longer, call it guilt or whatever but i hate seeing werewolves losing their mates."
Guilt? he's the reason why she's even like that in the first place.
He must've noticed my expression because as we stared at each other, he chuckles bitterly. "I know what you're thinking. I killed her mate so who the hell am i to even feel guilt? It useless anyway, if i have to loom about every person i killed then i wouldn't be standing here before you with a stable mind."
I lowered my head, guilty that he confirmed my accusations.
"More than guilt, i feel afraid." He frowns. "I feel like i'm being pushed to that state each time Christal walks away from me."
Both Jaxon and i just looked at him with worry. I even remembered how he disregarded his tears, just to stabilize himself, since if he surrenders to any of his emotions right now- it would end their story in an instant.
and he's not prepared to see that.
"Forgive me for overstepping my boundaries. i can only hope that you have another plan in mind to overcome the situation right now."
He nods, "Of course, I'm not so irrational after all."
Jaxon and i looked at each other, confusion plastered on our faces. "Alpha King? what do we do now?" Jaxon asks.
"We go to the other criminal, i'm sure she's connected to what's happening right now." He replies in a stern voice before turning away to leave the cell.
Naturally, we just followed silently behind him.
As soon as he stops in front of another cell. We immediately recognize the person he was talking about. Her famous red-hair that was known to almost all of the werewolf, and most importantly her eyes always seemed to hold a certain grudge.
Amber of Stone pack.
"Zyrus!" She cries, standing up as she tried to reach him yet was unable to due to the chains that lock her ankle in place.
Only a steel bar between them, the alpha king growls. "Amber, still not gonna admit anything?"
He's not gonna enter the cell?
I arched an eyebrow, realizing why.
Looks like he's not planning on getting more closer than he already is due to the fact that his body still recognizes her as his mate.
"You can't do this to me! i'm your mate!" She shot back, her eyes still filled with hope.
"Stop your lies, i've already confirmed that the liquid inside his highness system right now is also running through your veins. It's too late to deny it!" I replied in menace.
Just as expected, even though i said all those things, she still refused to back down. Not a pint of realization seen in her eyes, as she continued to glare towards me.
"It's you." She huffs out. "You're the one who caused a rift between us!"
"A rift?" I laughed. "Pardon my rudeness but aren't you going too ahead of yourself? just because you have fooled him for a second, doesn't mean you can fool him forever. Have you ever thought that whatever liquid you ingested, would be soon excreted? A liquid type of spell has always time limit so it's not a good method to use it as a disguise."
Her eyes widened.
Finally, she started to realize her own doom, the constant fear instantly showing through her emotions as she quickly changed her usual cold expression to a face of guilt.
"I-I... didn't know that!"
"My my, this is why you shouldn't trust anyone so easily. You just walked straight into a trap without knowing it, look at you." I smirked.
"You!-"
"Amber." The Alpha King interrupts us. "You better tell the truth, or else."
She chuckles. "Or else what? you'll kill me like how you killed Brianna?"
So she knew.
The Alpha King just sighs in frustration, placing a hand on his forehead, he stares back to her with the same intensity she was giving him. "Why are you doing this? you haven't met your mate yet, so why would you sacrifice the thought of being with your mate and choosing to be killed by me?"
Her eyes opened in shock as if she didn't know it herself. "I don't need my mate, he already rejected me so worrying about that stupid thing doesn't concern me anymore!"
She cries.
It was an expected answer, after all she really did sacrifice herself to the most dangerous position in the enemies' plans. So anyone would think why? why would she go that far?
"Who ordered you to do this?"
She stops, choking slightly. "Order? No, i was given this opportunity."
Opportunity? like a bargain?
The Alpha King's eyebrow furrowed in irritation, impatience glooming over his aura. "For what? what would you gain by doing this ridiculous deed?"
Since he looked so impatient, i leaned closer to the Alpha king;s ear. "Alpha King, why do we need to interrogate her like this? we can just extort her memories?" I whispered.
"I'm giving her a chance," he whispered back.
A chance?
"If she tells the truth, i'll lessen her sentence to exile. But if she lies again, she'll die personally in my hands." He said, loud enough this time so that Amber could hear it.
Amber gasps, her chains producing sounds as she moves back in fear.
Is she kidding me? is she so stupid to jump into a ridiculous plan without the thought that she could actually lose her life? is she really that stupid?
"You'll kill me?! but i haven't done anything yet!"
"Yet?" The Alpha king's eye burned in anger, making her more frightened.
She kneels immediately, her head touching the ground as her red-hair falls in effect. Her body trembled continuously. "P-Please! i just wanted my sister's weapon!"
Weapon?
She's trying to harm Christal because of a weapo- Wait.
I remember!
I turned to the Alpha King, who in return looks like he also remembered the things that i could recall. "I remember, Amber is the one who keeps pestering luna Christal to hand over the bow and arrow." i said.
"I remember now." He nods, "So you're doing this just for that petty reason?"
"It's not petty!" She sits up, her eyes filled with years. "As i told them a lot of times, it's the only thing she left behind! So how could i just let other people claim it?! it's my sister's object!"
i don't even know what to say, she's doesn't make sense. Although i do understand that she's still hanging onto that purpose even after all the time has passed, it's dumb how she thought she can succeed by doing this.
"Your sister handed the weapon willingly. Even after knowing that, do you still insist on angering me?"
"W-Willingly?"
"Your sister died by trespassing, she gave out a note for Christal. She insisted on passing the weapon to her so i did." The Alpha King says, his face filled with expecting a reaction.
"No.." She shook her head. "How does my sister even know her? is it because of that divination again?"
Her face was filled with utter confusion, she immediately believed the words of the alpha king even after knowing that her sister died by his hands, is it simply ignorance? or she knows something after all?
Like she already knew it in the first place.
I stepped in the conversation again, "You ask such questions yet you know it don't you? you know the answers yourself."
She bites her lower lip as her tears started to fall.
I knew it, she's simply just rejecting the truth.
"My sister.. my sister is an oracle." She cries. "At first, i never believed a word she said whenever she told me something about the future. Even telling me some stories of the past. I would laugh it off whenever she talked to some demi-god-"
"What?!" I exclaimed as soon as i heard the word, my hand gripping the bars. "Demi-god? what demi-god?!"
The word made me so uneasy that i was itching to get into the cell myself, yet stopped myself whenever i think that the Alpha king is still beside me.
She sobs. "She called her.. Gina."
