It's been several days since the incident in the arena, and i've already been discharged in the clinic. The only thing that bothered at that time was the fact that Zyrus never went to visit me once again when he left angrily back then.
That jerk, is he that angry?
I was currently near Delta ground, my mind still deciding if i should train or not. I sat on one of the wooden branches, my eyes wandering around seeing a lot of trainees that had the same thoughts that i had.
Should i train? but what will i do? It's not like Gina can help in physical combat training.
When she didn't respond, I took her silence as a yes.
Well she did tell me that she really never fought with anyone back then.
"There's only one day until the monthly trials, do you think that special examiner is still alive?" a voice reaches into my hearing when i heard my identity.
Alive? of course i'm still alive.
As i located him, i saw that he was with a group of friends, they were circled as they discussed anything. Wanting to listen further, i jumped to a closer tree, hiding my presence with magic.
I finally heard them more clearly.
"What are you talking about? of course she's alive, after all the Alpha King is protecting her." a guy snickered playfully.
"Yeah, i also heard about that. It turned out there's been a huge incident in the Delta arena. Could you believe it? Alpha Damien and the special examiner fought each other."
Alpha Damien?
"What? Why would Alpha Damien join the arena? he graduated Delta not so long ago right?"
That fucker, so he was just messing with me? Why did the administration approve of that fight!
"Yeah, i don't even get why he joined delta when he didn't accept any invitation from any pack in the trials. I thought he was being cocky, guess he really did have alpha blood back then."
"Oh right! he was a rogue back then!"
"Right, i think he finished delta for about 4 years? that's pretty short for an average werewolf."
"I also heard that Alpha Damien has a relationship with the Alpha King." He playfully taunts. "Do you wanna know?"
They all nodded, even i got immersed at the thought.
"Apparently, the AlphaKing taught Alpha Damien while they were both 5th level trainees. Since he was a special examiner, he really didn't need to graduate delta, so only a few knew that they had a close relationship."
What?? So Zyrus taught that motherfucker? no wonder he was so cocky about his abilities. Just the thought of the fight made me shake my hand in anger, remembering the feeling of loss that i had back then.
"ugh, i was planning to show off in the arena but it backfired at me." i sighed before finally leaving the forest.
Since there was only one day left till the monthly trials, i decided to not just train uselessly since i don't even know what i had to do to improve my combat abilities.
Tsk, Zyrus is all talk, he told me he'll train me personally but he never did.
When i entered the CentralCity i was surprised to see the empty streets. Not a single soul wandered but me. When i saw a person, i headed towards her direction.
Since she was facing away from me, i tapped her back.
"Hey, what happened around here?"
"You didn't read the notice?" She asks warily. "All citizen of the red blood moon is to stay inside their houses until the ominous storm passes."
She points towards the skies, my eyes widening in shock after seeing the blood-like color of the clouds. The divine power inside of me howling in fear. It was true, it's been several days since the weather stayed like this, i got too carefree and chose not to mind it.
But it's obviously something bad.
"You shouldn't wander around the city too much rogue, even if you're from delta." She warns before leaving me at my spot.
Well i'm not surprised she warned me, after all rogues are still troublesome werewolves that shouldn't be lurking around.
Heeding her warning, i made my way out of the city. My feet taking me towards the scent of my mate. It didn't stop me going to him even if i realized that he was indeed avoiding me these past few days.
It's not like he can outrun me forever.
My eyes widened when i arrived in a familiar place, Maria.
Using my powers, i concealed my presence to the werewolves that heavily guarded the place, making me able to go inside without breaking a sweat. As i entered, the scary howls of the wolves that were imprisoned sent a shiver down my spine, i became wary all of a sudden.
Thank god he didn't throw me here after discovering my Demi-god presence.
When i step foot, i uncovered my concealment. I walked inside, some of them growling angrily at me.
It was then i heard a loud woman screech that echoed throughout the place, my eyebrow furrowed as the direction was coming where my mate was located. I was about to ran towards it, if it wasn't for a sudden hand that gripped my body.
"What the fuck!" i turned my head toward my right thigh, seeing a man's grip on it. "Let go!"
When he didn't budge, i was about to break his arm if it wasn't for me seeing his face. He was the guy i fought in the arena, Alpha Damien.
"I knew it! It's you bitch!" He sneered at me, gripping my thighs tighter.
"Let go you freak! what's with you!" I said before elbowing his arm, he immediately retreats it after. "Aren't you an Alpha? what the hell are you doing here?"
He grunts in pain. "It's because of you," he says, a tone of hurt in his voice.
I chuckled. "Huh, is this because you bribed Delta?" I leaned in towards the bar, making sure i was not too close since it may raise suspicion. "You deserve it for trying to mess with me."
"Mess with you?! you were the one who threw me in the dumpsters!"
I tilted my head in confusion. not understanding a word he said. "What? what kind of shit are you talking about now?"
"You pretended to be Athena at that time!"
I still couldn't remember so i tried pondering about it more, closing my eyes to make it look like i was trying my best to remember. Unexpectedly, an image in my mind appears, and i regained my memory of it, i snickered at his presence. (see chapter 6)
"So you were that horny guy? So what if i did throw you? you were the one who had evil intentions." I stuck my tongue out like a kid, teasing him more. "If you didn't try to flirt with me, then i didn't have to use minimal strength to beat you."
I shrugged my shoulder, my pride going back to its place after realizing that the person whom i lost with in the arena was beaten by me i the past. It's not much, but i could still use it against him in a lot of ways.
"Ugh i hate you." He pouts, making me laugh.
Rolling my eyes, i was about to leave but he stops me once again. "Wait! You gotta talk to brother Zyrus for me."
Brother Zyrus?
"Why should he fix your problem? You should just stay here and wait for punishment for bribing Delta."
"What? I'm not here for that small matter," He says in annoyance. "I was put here because of you! i don't know what kind of relationship you have with my brother Zyrus. But i don't approve of it!"
Look at him talking like a child, i can't believe he beat me in the arena.
I sighed. "You say you're here because of me? Why would he do that then huh?"
"I don't know, even when i told him you used nasty tricks in the arena, he still blamed me for everything. He was clearly being biased."
I laughed.
That's Zyrus for you, he still really hasn't changed.
"What's your relationship with him huh," He asks, squinting his eyes in suspicion.
"What do you think?" I arched an eyebrow.
"You're fucking him, aren't you?"
I couldn't hold it anymore, so i burst out of laughter. My voice echoing around the place, i wiped the tears away after laughing for a while. "Well, you're not completely wrong."
His jaw drops. "I knew it! so that's why he beat me up after the fight, he was so merciless. He didn't even give my wound a time to rest."
He places a hand in his forehead. "If i knew this, i would have never challenged you. I value my life after all." He sighs, his back leaning against the cold wall.
"How long have you been here?"
"After the duel, i've been here."
"Pft." I laugh hard once again, "Is he even planning to let you out? You're an alpha after all. Does your pack know this?"
He turns his head in annoyance. "He faked a report using my signature, the pack must probably think that i had pack business with RedBloodMoon."
I looked at him with pathetic eyes.
"The future is doomed for having alphas like you."
