Chapter 127

  Alpha King's POV

"What the hell is this?" I said irritated as I looked at the report in my hands.

  "Pardon?" Beta Jaxon anxiously sweats.

"Giving independence? after allying with a traitor, they still dare to ask for such a presumptuous request?"

I almost slammed my fist on the desk when I finished reading the report about the request that Crescentine pack requested. It clearly stated what negotiable terms they could exchange with me in exchange for their own freedom. It was a concise and clear detailed list of what they could offer me yet the thought that even though they recently betrayed my pack, makes me sick that they even thought of having the audacity to request such thing.

I placed both my elbow on the desk, my hands held together.

"It was a request? i thought it'll be a monthly report?" He asks confused at my reaction.

"tsk" I threw the papers away from me, disgusted by my own suspicions. "I was already merciful enough to let them handle their pack with their own hands yet this is how they want to repay me? Already having thoughts to rebel again?!"

"Really? this is unexpected. The Crescentine had never acted like this before, sure they did ally but that was only because they had a close relative in Bluestone, they weren't really involved in the war at all."

"Doesn't change the fact that they take orders from that trash pack." I seethe, remembering the war that ended long ago.

"Hmm now that i think about it, didn't the oldest Alpha's son took over the Alpha position? it was a month ago i think, i read it in a report."

My eyebrow arched. "Pick up the last page."

He nods, giving the paper i requested to my hands. I scanned over it and finally saw the signature, namely Alpha Damien of Crescentine pack.

I smirked. "I thought wrongly, looks like i should've finished reading the report."

"..?" Beta Jaxon tilts his head.

Looking at it, i finally remembered this kid. He was one of my people when i started Delta, i was sure he was a rogue back then, so he also had his own share of secrets huh? Just look at this arrogant tone of his.

  I laughed, reading the paper.

Jaxon gives me a 'Have you finally lost it Alpha King?' look, making me laugh even more. Covering my face, i felt a sense of relief knowing that the kid was alive.

"I know this kid, i trained him when i was just a trainee in Delta."

He gasps, his eyes filled with excitement. "You taught Alpha Damien?! so that's why he's been so cocky when we received that request."

I looked at him confused. "You know him?"

"Well Crescentine isn't a famous pack, but after he ascended the position of Alpha they've been progressing fast as a pack. There were bad rumors about him, saying that he was branded as a rogue before becoming alpha."

"He really was a rogue back then, but i respect that kid." I said solemnly. "After all, he remained benevolent towards his own pack even when they threw him away."

"I never thought you taught him though, i didn't even know it even though i was the closest to you." he pouts, his eyes glistening with pity.

"Shut your face." I said in irritation.

"Yes alpha." he gulps. "So what's your decision regarding the request?"

"Looks like he was just inviting me to come after all." I sighed.

  "When? I'll schedule it."

"Notify them first that I'll be coming, then we'll discuss this later."

  He nods.

"Oh right alpha King, mind telling me what has gotten you so edgy all day?"

I frowned. "Tsk thinking about just gives me a headache."

  "Is it about the she-wolf?"

  She's not even a she-wolf.

Feeling uncomfortable, I glared at him, making him raise his hand in surrender.

"Woah there, it's just a question."

I sighed. "I think I've gone completely insane after meeting that woman." I placed my hand on my forehead due to frustration.

I've always known my own temperament with dealing with things, believing that i won't ever get swayed so easily like i did back then when my parents died. Because of the incident at the basement, and the report I've read about me missing for a few weeks, i clearly know I've lost my memories.

i don't remember how i got my name back.

It was surely not me who did it, seeing i can't enter the heavens. So just how? I've pondered about it a lot of time but i always arrived in an empty answer. After escaping from that basement, i decided to leave it alone, since i regarded the pack's business more important than anything after all.

  {"Ugh!" she gasps for air. "Z-Zyrus!"}

  {"How did you know my name."}

Ah why did i remember that? She was indeed the first person i saw after waking up from that place, that's why i wanted to kill her. She was the most suspicious one. I told myself that believing any words that she'll say is a trap, when she said she saved my life with those look in her eyes, i almost believed her.

  {"I saved you life didn't i? shouldn't you be at least thankful?"}

At that time, i could only remember how i wanted to spare her life by running away from her.

Even when she appeared in front of me, following me in my pack, i still didn't kill her. I even let her live even when i discovered her fake identity.

"Just what the hell is happening to me." I said in disbelief, looking over the window.

  "AlphaKing? Did you hear me?"

I looked at him. "Repeat it."

  "Yes." He says, troubled.

"What? you don't like repeating yourself?"

"No Alpha King! i just repeated myself three times even though i knew you were not listening.." His voice loudness fading consistently.

  I glared at him.

"M-Moving on! Some warriors mind linked me about a situation in Delta, there was a slight commotion since the arena was increasing in number. It could only accommodate 50 000, but there is currently 70000 werewolves from around the continent appearing just 30 minutes ago. The report isn't that detailed since the one who called me suddenly got ran over a pack of mob that wanted to watch the fight." he said, making an exhausted face.

"What's so fun watching two werewolves fight?- Perhaps.." I said, realizing something. "A pair of talented individuals has appeared."

"There's no way- oh wait a minute." He stops, receiving a message from someone, his eyes widened. "What?! yes yes, I'll tell him right away."

"AlphaKIng, it has seemed that the reason that the arena is packed with werewolves is because Alpha Damien entered the stage.." He said, his face filled with horror. "And.."

"Really? Just what is that kid doing playing around in Delta? Just because he's alpha did he think he could do whatever he wants?" I said annoyed.

  "A-AlphaKing.."

"I mean people could've realized his identity already, what's the big deal? He's just probably there to let off some steam, i doubt he'll kill some trainee."

  That's right, he's a good kid.

"That's not it.. He purposely bribed the administrator to fight with the special examiner."

My eyes widened, standing up. "WHAT?!"

The demi-god?! fighting in the arena?! is she insane?!

"Just as i said Alpha, it also looked like the she-wolf voluntarily participated too."

I slammed my fist in the table, i posted her profile so that she'll become warier of people, she was supposed to hide until the monthly trials! Did she not feel threatened?! i should've just locked her up!

No wait. i can't do that, It'll make things worst.

"I'm going insane." I groaned in frustration.

And just what is that damn Damien kid thinking? Why would she want to challenge her? do they know each other?

As i started to overthink countless situations, my eyes darkening at the thought of those countless nightmares of her getting hurt from that kid. Accepting the fact that i am worried for her, i left the room hastily.

"Alpha? Where are you going?" Jaxon follows behind me.

  "Arena."

  He sighs.

We arrived earlier as i expected since i ran all the way to Delta in full speed, my beta almost getting lost due to my speed, my eyes searched for the entrance of the arena when we arrived in Delta.

"AlphaKing?" A trainee passes by, but i just shoved him away.

"Move." I said with a dominant voice, he flinches in fear, immediately complying with my orders.

As the report did say, the arena was overflowing with a huge number of werewolves all around the continent, just to spectate the battle. We were in the last rows, but it was enough for me to see the battle since i have a stronger heightened sense among any werewolves.

  My eyes landed on her.

  The Demi-god, Christal.
