Chapter 117

I was cooped up in my office for a whole day due to the numerous documents that i had to finish. Just because of the issue regarding Helios, i have been working to the bone.
if i could just kill all those packs to shut up.
I almost smiled at the thought of it.
"Finally done!" Beta Jaxon stretches his arm out, yawning. "Alpha, i've done my reports."
i coughed uncomfortably, "Jaxon, are there no more reports from other packs?"
He looks at me with disbelief. "Alpha, even if there were, you would've told me to throw it all out."
"Right," I said, completely agreeing to myself. "Then you're dismissed for today."
He nods.
Before he left, i turned my head to the direction of the window, droplets of water started to form around the glass. The rain going steadily heavy in time, i had no choice but to stand up and close the window.
But something caught my eyes. It was Brianna going in the building, my frustration once again builds up. 'Just why did i even agree to this marriage' i thought before finally closing it.
I waited for that she-wolf to come barging in the room again, and when she finally did.
She calls me. "Zyrus! are you done with work? let's get dinner." Coming in without knocking.
"Brianna." I sighed. "Didn't i warn you about barging in here without permission?"
"But it's just dinner, i'm not here to interrupt your work just like last time." She said, a bit pushy.
"Precisely its because it's dinner. I won't ever plan to spend my leisure time with someone like you." I said with venom, looking at her with contempt.
Just because i respect her father, how dare she become so insolent infront of me?
Her eyes widened, obviously being overwhelmed with emotion. "S-Someone like me? We're engaged! it's normal to spend some time together!"
There was something with her eyes, it wasn't because she was heartbroken.
My suspicions and doubts started to surface when i saw her eyes, filled with desperation, i could only judge her right now by how she looked at me.
"There's a limit to how shameless you can be. We may be engaged but that doesn't particularly require you to take care of me." i said, crossing my arms.
Just what is this she-wolf aiming for?
"I wouldn't be doing this if it weren't for you! If you just acted that i was a bit significant in front of others then they wouldn't have laughed at me!" She snapped.
So that's what's been putting her on edge, i sighed.
"Brianna, what are you being desperate for? I already agreed to the marriage, more so who would dare laugh at you?"
"It's good that you still remember." She growls. "Don't forget who helped you when you almost got dragged to the heavens."
I couldn't help the irritation that finally exploded within me. I quickly appeared in front of her, and gripped her face in anger. My canines, barely showing.
I lowly growled. "DON'T PUSH IT."
Yet she still had the audacity to laugh. "If you didn't corner me this much, you wouldn't have to be so irritated right? you should've established my title with the respect it needed when i asked for it. You forced me to be this shameful."
If it weren't for her father, i would have killed this bitch in an instant.
Not wanting to hold her disgusting skin any further, i let go of her.
"You know, you remind me of clara." I smirked.
She immediately flinches at the mention of her name.
"That's right, you're well aware of what happened to her right? She's also full of herself like you, thinking that she can control me, you probably know what happened next." i said.
She chuckles. "Clara was a fool, you think i even want your love? AlphaKing you already know love is something i would not dare to approach again. This is just business after all, but i hope you conduct yourself like how a marriage partner would have."
That's true, as i've been told, her mate already died years ago. Her mate wasn't an alpha or anything maybe that's why he died so early. Well it's to be expected, she wasn't a white wolf so there's no reason for her mate to be an alpha.
"Finally showing your true colors huh?" i said, leaning on my table.
"I almost died, if i didn't tell you my intention then i wouldn't have the chance ever again."
"I was never planning to kill you." I replied bluntly.
She laughs hard in disbelief. "You think i don't know what bloodlust feel? i'm definitely sure you wanted to kill me earlier."
Tsk, was it too obvious?
"Go back to your pack, if you want your respect then i'll give it to you tomorrow."
"Tomorrow? do you really have to be so specific? why not treat me with respect right now?"
I looked at the window. "If i were to treat you with respect at this moment, then i would've let you stay the night since it's raining so heavily. But i don't want to, get out from my sight."
"Make sure you don't remember what you just said, tomorrow it is." She said in anger.
She slams the door closed after leaving.
I sighed in frustration.
Why are she-wolves so aggressive nowadays? well i guess nothing really beats being mated with a white wolf. If she was a white wolf then this would've been easier.
i placed my hand on my forehead, but why does her behavior feels so familiar?
That Helios is also insolent, but that what's more confusing. Helios' is a rogue, yet she's so open about her hatred toward me.
"What am i even thinking? Why do i care so much about how she treats me. She's just a rogue." I argued to myself.
I should make things clear to her before she misunderstands me more. She's becoming more and more insolent as day passes.
"Should i just scold her right now?" I said, finally agreeing to my judgments. "That's right i need to scold her right now, if i don't do it right now, she might just think i'm a pushover."
That's right this is the perfect reason to go see her right now.
As i noticed how the rain still heavily poured, i pulled my shirt off and finally left my office.
