Chapter 114

1007words
After catching up with the guys, they suddenly had to leave since they still have training in Delta. Leaving me behind, i decided to take a walk further away from the kingdom.

Far from the detection of Zyrus.

I followed the scent of the ocean and gone along with it.

When i realized that i arrived at a cliff, i sat at the edge of it. The cold breeze, immediately calming my nerves, i looked up ahead the skies and closed my eyes.

I felt sad remembering the moments i spent with my best friend.

A memory flashed through my mind.

  {"Good Morning." She smiles.}

  {"Not a good one."}

  {"Oh, it's your brother isn't it?" She chuckles. "You of all people should be used to his behavior Christal."}

  Is she dead?

  No.

She's too stubborn to die so early...Right?

A tear fell on my cheek.

I grieved at the thought of it, i knew it was wrong to mourn for someone knowing that there's still a possibility. But realizing that i was also the one who pushed my family to death made me able to accept the fact that i buried this guilt along with them.

It was cruel of me, i know.

'Christal' Gina tries to comfort me.

i chuckled bitterly. "Who am i to feel sad? just how the fuck can i?"

As if the heavens knew that my heart was screaming in agony, droplets of water started to pour at my location. The skies darkened, as i felt the heavy weight my heart was feeling at the moment.

I'm such a piece of shit.

"Mourning for my family? I'm not even worthy." i cried silently.

  ALPHAKING ZYRUS's POV

After going through some observation patrols and meetings around the borders, i went back to my office, inmedietely seeing a pile of documents already laid at me desk.

I sat at the chair, continuing work.

I sensed Beta Jaxon arriving at door, he knocks and opens the door.

"Alpha, this is.." Jaxon exhaustedly places the folders at my desk. "the 34th report about the issue with Helios' identity."

"Throw it away." i said, not looking back at him.

He sighs heavily before throwing it in a bin. i "I don't get it, why do you keep protecting that rogue. She's clearly suspicious, i even reported to you about the incident in 5th level right? she used magic! Not just that, some servants reported to me that she got another alias!"

  "Oh? What was her name?"

"They said it's Christal." He replies

I looked at him. "Regarding the ogre incident, she was possessed at that time, according to my written report."

"Alpha." I heard Jaxon facepalm himself. "That's what's more suspicious, you clearly told me you couldn't remember that you even wrote a report."

I sighed, dropping the pen to think about it.

He was right, the day i read the report that i had written in the past, i can hardly remember anything at all. I'm sure that i should've remembered something since it was such a big incident that even made me run to the site.

  I can't remember.

"Shut up, you also don't remember." I shot back.

He finally gives up, raising his hands in surrender. "I give up, i should just be die."

I arched an eyebrow. "If you wish so."

  "What."

"You want to rest right? Then i'll send you to the far northern border, you can rest all you want." I smirked.

A sweat rolls down at the side of his face. "How could you betray me Alpha King, i've been your beta since your coronation as an AlphaKing." He said, acting hurt.

"I've helped you through ups and downs, whenever you disappear all of a sudden, i cover your work for you, i even bring your drinks every hour-"

  I glared at him.

"-that's why i'm very motivated everyday to take on my tasks as a beta of this very powerful pack. I feel like i can do every work from now on, thank you sir." He says with a twist, he places his knuckle close to his chest, as if he was mocking me about his loyalty.

I sighed, when did Jaxon become so talkative all of a sudden?

"Tell me, what exactly is your problem." I bluntly said.

He immedietely sits down. "Alpha King about the issue regarding that 5th level trainee, we should-"

"No." I said, picking my pen once again and scanning the documents.

"i haven't even finished yet." He cries. "You ignored every report by other packs so i'm the one getting all the pressure, the Alphas won't stop contacting my office about their complaints."

"I clearly told them my intentions at the meeting." I replied sternly.

"Meeting? AlphaKing, that wasn't a meeting. You just threatened every Alpha in the continent to accept your conditions." Beta Jaxon slams his head.

"So .. is there a problem?" I stared at him, making him uneasy.

"For you.. there isn't. But alphaking, who knows what kind of shit those packs are gonna throw at us again? Do you remember disappearing for months? Killing elders? They also complained about that. There has been a lot of complaints." He says with a heavy voice.

"Then? Do we have any disturbances report about other packs that complained?" I asked.

  "Why?"

"I just needed an excuse to annihilate them, so they'll stop pestering me right?" My eyes darkens in disatisfaction.

"No! Enough annihilations! We can't take any more refugees in CenterCity, the administration has constantly been giving ceremonies for oath taking, we cant take any more work." Beta Jaxon says, stressed.

"Then shouldn't we just send some warriors to take out their leaders secretly?" I think seriously.

"ALPHAKING!!" Beta Jaxon screams in frustrations.

  "You dare raise your voice."

He clasp his hands together. "Alpha, think about it, if we just reveal Helios' identity, the workload will decrease."

"Why do you keep begging me even if you know it's futile to do so?" I chuckled. "Only i can target that she-wolf."

  I smirked.
