Chapter 25

My eyes opened as i stared at the endless darkness above. My body laid back in a lake made me wonder, how the hell could i float? There were no currents in the water not even a single creature can be found because even the water was tinted black.
I sat up, turning my head from a different direction to find something, a light. I need a guide or maybe someone that will explain me why i am here or why i cannot speak.
I held my throat as i glared downwards, what kind or sorcery is this? Sudden pain from the head and illusion? Someone must be playing with me.
Clank!
I flinched, did i just hear a metal sound? From this pitch-black dimension?
Clank! Clank!
I don't know why, but i followed the sound, my ear slowly picking up the direction even though there were no signs that it was leading me into something. But i know one thing for sure, i was getting closer.
My head turned sidewards when my eyes caught something. A lantern? I slightly kneeled and held it up, giving no care why a lantern is there at all. This must be a trap, a guide leading me somewhere.
CLANK! CLANK! CLANK!
Or to something.
I gulped, the sounds were like chains that bind a wild animal. But is it? I cannot hear anything beside its chain so i'm not yet so sure about this, that's why i continued.
"Christal." A petite voice says coming from behind.
Shit, that sounded familiar.
I wanted to speak, but it's no use. My voice was chained by a spell or something.
Slowly as i can, i turned my head. I had a bad feeling about trying to peak into that voice. My guts told me to NEVER turn my back. But as curiosity kills me, i did it only to see a floating woman with silver hair smiling towards me.
She looked young and pure, but the darkness that covered her made her something else. I don't exactly know.
She says something, but i cannot hear a thing. She laughs, giggles but i cannot hear a thing. Why is it that the only things that i could hear are the chains that move? Finally, she raises her right hand to point something towards me.
Me?
Or something behind me?
I turned away from her once again and stared shockingly at the sight behind of me. I didn't saw this earlier.. how can a huge cage come unnoticed by me? I hadn't moved an inch earlier so how?
Metal bars were planted into the water and it stretched upwards endlessly just like the darkness, only the light of the lantern guiding me. There were no currents and when i turned my head, the floating girl had disappeared.
CLANK! CLANK! CLANK! CLANK! CLANK!
I gulped, what the hell? The sounds were coming from the cage. But i still cannot see what's in there. I must get closer so i can see what this illusion is leading me into.
Slowly, as i laid footprints into the water. My heart raced a little bit faster, and my fear sped a little bit further. Why am i scared? Is it because of the darkness? Or because i don't know what i've gotten myself into?
The wild noise that it burst a while ago suddenly stopped when i reached towards the metal bars. I raised the lantern only to see a long chain. I followed how long it went and saw a human, i am not sure but she appears to be so.
She had a long brown hair, bruises all over her body and her arms and legs were chained into a heavy metal. Her back towards me as i studied her, why is she caged up into this humungous cage?
And why did she stop moving?
"Why- " i abruptly stopped when i realized that i can speak again. She must've heard me because she tilted her head a little bit.
I gulped, this is fucking scary.
Maybe i should talk to her? I think she needs help.
"A-Are you okay? Why are you here?"
No answer, after a few minutes. I was surprised to see her insane. She laughed and at the same time i felt her crying from the inside. From the looks at her appearance, she didn't get through life pretty well.
"Why? Why is a death too cruel.." she says, the tone of her voice slightly familiar to me.
Death? Is it a name? Or literally Death?
"He takes everything from me.. why does he take him but not me? WHY!"
CLANK CLANK! CLANK! CLANK! CLANK!
"Ahhhhhhh!!! AHHHHH!!" She screamed while trying to escape from the clutches of the chains.
I shivered in fear, this is torture. Seeing a person exist in a vast dimension like this. If i were in here place. I too would lose my sanity. I stepped backward, but as i did that she instantly disappeared.
Where is she?
My heart raced faster because fear got me. This is no joke, this is some horror movie shit that i shouldn't be in! I held the lantern closely as i searched for her around me. There's no way in hell she'-
In just seconds, i gasped when two hands tightly wrap its way into my neck. I stood frozen at my feet, not even guessing anymore who was behind me.
"W-What a-are you?!" I said while she choked me to death.
"Die! DIE! If you do, we can forget."
"We?"
~•~
"Christal!"
My eyes opened quickly as i heard that voice. Looking around, i noticed that i was out from that dark illusion. And there was no crazy woman to be found that tried to kill me. I held my throat.
"Are you okay? You look like you were struggling with breathing." Syrena says as she examines me.
"I'm fine."
"Doesn't look like it."
"I said it okay? I'm fine so leave me alone." I glared at her, she stinks coz she's a witch. "How dare you pretend to care for me."
"What do you mean?"
"What do i mean?" I laughed bitterly. "Witch, i know your habits, you like to put people into nightmares and laugh at their fear. You stink of darkness Syrena. Why the hell did you did that?" I spat furiously.
I thought she was somewhat pure but maybe i was wrong.
She's the only one i'm blaming, since she was beside me and she's literally a Dark Witch. Who else would i blame for that realistic nightmare?
"I don't know what're you talking about. Maybe you can tell me more about the nightmare you're speaking of." She asks, not affected by my insults.
"You know what you did." I glared at her.
"I am honestly saying that i had nothing to do with the nightmare you're speaking of." She says, slightly annoyed.
Bitch, she keeps lying. That nightmare a while ago freaked me out. I really thought i was near death. I couldn't do anything i felt weak and pathetic. I wondered, why did i feel like that?
Maybe she's not the one who made me see that. I can see that she was sincere but was that enough to prove it?
"What did you see? Tell me." She asks.
"Why? Why should i."
"Christal, i am trying to help you. You are our Luna-"
"No, i am no Luna." I shake my head, that was not gonna happen. "We both know that this place isn't the pack house yet. It's a hut far away from his kingdom right?"
She frowns. " i think you have misunderstood the situation."
"What? But it's true right? Maybe i'm too shameful for him to present infront of his pack. They even called me a rogue-"
"That was practical, you are still not part of this pack. You refuse to mate with him and you refuse to be in his pack. What do you expect?" She says kindly.
Well that's true but- ugh. I can't get anything anymore. My mind is so jumbled that it makes me want to reset everything.
She sighs. "Don't be too harsh on him. He cares for you even though he's a little bit strict."
"A little bit? He's stricter than a father." I let out a bitter cough.
"Still he's your mate." She smirks.
I blushed, why am i blushing?! "Stop making me think delusions woman!"
"What? Are you happy that you have such a handsome mate?" She chuckled.
"Ha ha how old are you exactly? You sound like a 13-year-old." I rolled my eyes.
"Admit it, Christal, you're angry at him because you think he doesn't care for you. He does, a lot i tell you." She said.
I raised an eyebrow. "You two seem close?"
"Don't be jealous Luna he's all yours!" She laughs.
"You little-"
We stopped talking when the door opened, it was not rush but it made us hush. He appeared suddenly, my cheeks grew red as i thought of him hearing our conversation.
I hope i can facepalm myself in this kind of situation.
Syrena stood up and bowed with respect towards me and him. She says. "Luna, Alpha King." And she leaves.
