Chapter 245

Sapphire's sudden intrusion sobered me up a bit. But my head was still dizzy, and all kinds of smells were surrounding me.
The soreness of my joints and muscles reminded me that what happened between me and Mr.K just now.
In those broken memories, I didn't seem to reject the man's intimacy. What’s worse, on the contrary, I actually catered to him. Damn, how could I do this?
I furrowed my brows and looked up at Sapphire in confusion while I kept clenching Mr. K’s coat around my naked body.
Sapphire sighed as she urged me to grab the white bathrobe she was handing over seconds after she went into the bathroom.
“It’s good that this VIP lounge was a guestroom before it was renovated. Or else we’ll have a harder time.”
I whimpered as a nerve-wracking pain stung my head. I kept my eyes closed while I wore the bathrobe before I sat back down and massaged my temples.
Damn! I’ll never drink again!
A knock on the door was heard. Sapphire placed her finger against her lips and motioned me to keep quiet and stay still as she went to the door.
She only ajar the door and used his body as a blocker. I heard her whispering to someone before she closed it.
“Here, this will help you, Princess.” She handed me a bottle of water and a brown bead-looking medicine.
When she saw me looking at it weirdly, she clarified, “It’s for your hangover.”
Hearing that, I hastily snatched it from her hand and drank it as relief rushed through my body in seconds. Though there was still pain, it’s much bearable now.
I glared at the empty bottles on the table and shifted my gaze to Sapphire as I stated my explanation, “I got overdrunk from the alcohol.”
Sapphire’s brows furrowed as she bent down and grabbed the emptied Black label bottle. “You’ve drunk tons of liquor before. It never affected you.”
I shrugged and shook my head, feeling a bit disappointed in myself.
Slowly, I watched as she brought the mouth of the bottle close to her nose and took a deep whiff. “Is it possible that something was added to it?”
I shook my head immediately. “I doubt it. It’s probably just because its alcohol level is too high, and I drank a lot.”
My eyes lingered on the empty bottles on the table as I remembered what happened.
I was in complete shock when everything rushed back into my mind. Suddenly, I had this tremendous urge to slap my head hard. How could I be so stupid to have sex with a man I don’t know?!
For goodness sake, I didn’t even know what he looked like!
Although I was so drunk, I didn’t black out enough to lose my entire memory. My heart beat fast the second I recalled the time I spent with Mr. K.
I wouldn’t lie, it’s… it’s an amazing night. He sure knows how to pleasure a woman.
His touches and kisses, though perhaps a bit rough, still lingered in my skin. I could still feel the jolt and excitement they gave my body and those explosive sparks that formed in my stomach.
I couldn’t pinpoint the feeling, but there was this indescribable and strange emotion that enveloped me as I had sex with Mr. K.
It seemed almost familiar.
Though his voice, physique, and even actions were different from Kylian's, those deep eyes behind his mask keen to a predator were similar to Kylian’s. So much so that it felt like it was pulling me in. And with the kick of the liquor’s spirit in my body, every part of me moved on its own as I got enticed with the feelings and felt so powerless to refuse Mr. K’s kisses.
What’s more frustrating was that I got excited and looked forward to more as we did it.
I let out a sigh of disappointment as I went back to reality, only to see Sapphire remain silent, her eyes lingering on me as though she were observing me.
After a while, she cleared her throat and reported, “I didn’t let any servants in. So be rest assured that aside from the two of us and Mr. K, no one else no what happened here.”
I nodded my head, happy that she was quick to take action.
“But…” she hesitated for a while.
I kept my eyes on her and nodded, encouraging her to continue.
“As your Beta, I have to remind you, Princess, that Sir Albert had an exceptional reputation here in Wakeland when he fought against the Rogues.”
Hearing Albert’s name jolted the blood in me, making me cold with guilt and pain. What have I done?
Albert has always been supportive and understanding of me. No matter how many times I rejected his intimate advances, he reminded me of his understanding, and yet… I gave that one thing he had always looked from me to another man who was a stranger to me.
I’m a fool!
My hands turned into a fist with anger, anger for myself.
I heard Sapphire’s worried sigh as she continued, “More importantly, the editor-in-chief of the Wakeland Times is on Krendell’s side. They are just waiting on the sidelines, looking for an opportunity to ruin your image more than it already is.”
She looked at me deeply and said, “Once they know what happened here, the people of Wakeland will likely lose trust in you more than they already did, and things will get much worse.”
It’s like I’ve been struck with a sharp knife twice from her words. Everything she said was true. I was so foolish to lose control and jeopardize what we had been working so hard for.
We haven’t even gained the trust of the people here yet, and there’s already another problem that I created myself.
Calming myself, I sighed and stood up. Pointing at the table, I commanded in a deep and demanding tone, “Don’t ever serve this drink ever again.”
“Duly noted, Princess.”
With that, I walked to the side and picked up my clothes. I wore them with Sapphire’s help. But after I wore them, I saw the water stain on them when I looked down and let out a deep breath.
“I won’t return to the house tonight. Inform Diana about it.”
Sapphire nodded and didn’t ask more.
“And…” I said, taking her attention. “I need to discuss something with you.”
“What is it, Princess?” she asked, standing correctly in front of me, face filled with seriousness.
I grabbed the empty glass on the table and poured water on it. As I raised it up and swirled it, the light reflected on the glass and water. I watched it move smoothly in waves as a man’s face covered in a mask seemingly reflected on the curve of the glass.
Cautiously, I told her, “Mr. K is not an ordinary ally of ours. He’s ambitious and has a strong personality.”
I looked at her and continued, “We have to be cautious and carefully observe how our cooperation with him should go.”
Sapphire’s eyes widened in surprise.
After the night I had with him, I’m sure that there’s more that he wanted than just a Ruby Ore…
But for what it was… I ought to find out.
