Della’s POV

No one can say no to gossip, not even the princess.

Although my main purpose was to find out the “important person” of Mr. K, so as to facilitate our future cooperation, seeing Mr. K's state, I couldn't help but have a great curiosity about that person.

My heart accelerated with anticipation, and my eyes focused on his eyes, waiting for every syllable of words to come out of his mouth.

“…she’s…”

I swallowed. This was it. Who was it?

That’s weird. I never felt so enticed to know something before.

‘What are you doing, Della? You’re not a gossiper!’ I scolded myself.

My eyes narrowed, but then he suddenly let out an amused smile and continued, to my dismay, “But I can’t tell you that. It’s my privacy.”

Despite the disappointment, I nodded and replied, “Of course, I understand.”

After clearing my throat and straightening my back, I returned to the topic: “Okay, but can I know what your plans are with the ores?”

“To clear your doubts, I’ll be very transparent with you.” He leaned forward, put his elbows on his parted knees, and stared at me. “I also get ores from the Dark Moon Pack, but it's not enough.”

How many unwanted gems like this does he need?

Skeptical, I said, “Then…”

“I want to get as much as I can, hence why I’m hoping the Wakeland can sell me more ores. I’ll be selling it to the White Bear Pack.”

White Bear Pack?! Did I hear it right?

“This Mr. K really has some guts!” Trisha commented as well, feeling as shocked as I was.

“You actually want to do business with the White Bear Pack? Are you insane?” I asked in utter shock, no longer being able to control myself.

I mean, it’s THE White Bear Pack.

Seeing his eyes void of a hint of witticism, Trisha said, “He must be really crazy! That is a dangerous pack!”

Tilting my head a little, I narrowed my eyes and stared at him with scrutiny.

The White Bear Pack was a savage pack that didn’t move forward with the modernization. They were the only pack still living with the caveman, thinking violence would solve everything. Hence, they were isolated from the society.

After countless confrontations with them, the Lycan King finally issued a memorandum advising that no pack should get close to the White Bear Pack as they were extreme dangerous.

They wouldn’t think twice about killing those who trespassed their land, but they never went out of their territory to cause chaos for the other packs, so they were just left alone with their own beliefs.

And now… here with me was a man who was mysterious in many ways, telling me he was doing business with them.

I watched Mr.K confidently taking a sip from his glass, with no sense of any fear or trouble.

Later, I smiled and nodded in admiration. “I see... You’ve gained my respect and admiration, Mr. K. I’ll be willing to sell you the ruby mine, but heed my words; that pack is dangerous, and partnering with them is a very risky move. Be cautious.”

He let out a smug smirk as he put down his glass before confidently pushing a document in front of me. He tapped his fingers on it and stared at me so deeply like he was sucking a part of my soul. “It’s business, Princess. Risking and playing my cards is what I’m best at.”

Taking a deep breath, I willed myself to grab the file and focus my eyes on it instead, but when I did, I got even more surprised.

“This is…” My eyes ventured to every word on the file, admiring him more and more.

“Yup!” he nodded confidently.

Flipping every page of the file, I spoke, “You already did it?”

It’s a signed document regarding the agreement between Deadtails and the White Bear Pack to sell Ruby Ores.

I blinked countless times out of disbelief. “How did you do it?”

I’m not complaining or anything; I was just really surprised. In fact, this was a huge advantage on my part.

The entire Wakeland belonged to the royal family. If I could sell the ruby mine at a very great price, I’d be able to increase the way of living of the members of Wakeland. Not to mention, we don’t even need those resources so much.

This was beyond excellent! But I still couldn’t help but wonder how he managed to negotiate with the most notorious pack in the kingdom.

Would this also mean, though, that he was just as scary as those packs for him to be able to handle that pack like that?

I stared back at him, waiting for his detailed explanation, and I met his eyes that were still lingering on me.

Something in me was moved. I couldn’t help but notice that he really liked staring at me. Though he was masked, I could feel his stare, which almost felt filled with desires.

But then again, I could just imagine it.

I thought he would answer me, but instead, he let out a smirk and moved his hand closer to mine, intentionally letting his pinky finger rub on mine. With his head leaned closer to me, he huskily but mysteriously said, “As long as you let me stay by your side, I’ll promise that this deal will last forever."

A lump was formed in my throat as I felt butterflies in my stomach. What did he mean? Is it a threat or negotiation?

“What do you think is hidden in his words?” Trisha voiced out my thoughts, but I just pushed it away and stood up.

Extending my hand, I smiled and happily said, “It’s a pleasure working with you, Mr. K.”

These three labels are not what a trustworthy partner should have, but even so, I have to cooperate with him. Cooperating with him is one of the best ways I can establish a footing in this place.

Mr.K let out a seemingly victorious smile as he extended his hand to accept mine. I thought he’d go for a handshake, but he grabbed my hand and pulled it toward his lips instead.

My eyes widened, mainly when he laid a soft kiss on the top of my hand with his eyes gazing at mine.

My heart went wild, and my breathing hitch.

With his soft lips still lingering in there, he whispered, “The pleasure is mine, my Princess.”
