Chapter 227

Della’s POV

“Princess, we’ve arrived,” Sapphire reported.

I’ve already changed into more appropriate clothes. I wore combat boots paired in my brown faux leather and black princess coat. With my hair tied in a ponytail, I let Sapphire and hundreds of warriors toward the newly built manor.

It’s quite a scene, I must say.

Though I didn’t announce my arrival, the news probably spread fast because there were already many people waiting for me outside the manor. They didn’t dare to bother, but they were sure lurking around to see what was happening.

As soon as I stepped on the threshold of the manor, the gigantic ornamental metallic gates opened, and the two warriors posted at each side bowed in respect.

After acknowledging them, I continued walking inside. The main manor was about a few feet away from the main gate. There was a paver pathway in the middle that led to the main manor, and the surrounding grass was perfect for training.

The manor was three stories high and mixed with ancient and contemporary designs. At the front, many warriors and omegas were waiting for my arrival; in the middle of them was Albert, who was carrying Aaden in his arms. Both men wore huge smiles and glinting eyes.

Instantly, my worried heart eased, and a smile naturally formed on my lips.

“Mommy!” Aaden immediately shouted, squirming from Albert’s arm until Albert gave up and placed him down with a small laugh.

I stopped midday and bent with open arms to welcome him as he ran fast toward me with wide arms open. His cheeks were chubby and flashed red, probably from playing all day.

His smile was so wide, I think his cheeks would tear any second.

When he was about a foot away from me, he suddenly jumped toward my arms, making my eyes wide open, but I still managed to catch him. “Woah! I missed you too, baby!”

He dipped his head in my neck and hugged me as tight as he could.

“I miss you too, sweetheart,” Albert said as he followed suit to Aaden. He gave me a quick peck on the lips before he engulfed both Aaden and me in his arms.

Now, this was a safe haven. What else could I wish for when I got the two of them with me?

“Come on, let’s go,” Albert suggested after he let go of us.

Letting go of Aaden, I let him walk before I turned to look at Sapphire. “You can all tour the place first and rest on your respective places.”

“He’ll be with you,” Albert added as he motioned for one of the warriors to accompany them since it was their first day here.

“Thank you, Princess and Prince.”

With that, we let them adapt to the place first and walk inside.

While we walked, Albert briefed me, “The entire manor is done. The training grounds are in the backyard, which leads to both forest and sea. Everything is also designed based on your preferences. I’ve checked everyone working here, ensuring all have undergone background checks and everything.”

I halted, letting Aaden run first toward the dining room, where the meal was being prepared, as Albert had instructed.

“What? Everything okay?” he asked in worry.

I shook my head, feeling overly touched. Indeed, all the decorations and interior design were to my liking. Not only did he prepare my people, the manor, and the training, but he was also very detailed, down to the designs of the place.

“Thank you… These are all perfect,” I lovingly said before I tiptoed and warped my arms around his neck, holding him close to mine. Seconds later, I felt his arms wrapping around my waist.

Leaning down, he whispered, “Anything for you, Della. I’ll do anything for you. I’ll bend heaven and hell if it means making you happy.”

As touch as I was, I couldn’t help but let out a small laugh. Pulling away a bit, I teasingly slapped his muscular chest. “That’s too much.”

He shrugged, playing it cool. “Only telling the truth.”

“Princess, the meal is prepared.” Diana enthusiastically peek from the kitchen, looking extremely excited about my arrival.

“Mommy, come on! There’s waffles and chicken!” Aaden excitedly said, running toward me so he could hold my hand and pull me.

I laughed. “Wait for a while, Aaden. I need to talk to Diana.”

“Come, buddy, let’s head to the dining first.” Happily, Aaden held Albert’s hand.

“I missed you too, Diana. How’s everything here?” I asked though I knew everything was perfect by how it all looked.

She smiled. “Yes, Princess. All are well prepared by the prince.”

Then she looked around and tried to open her mouth, but she kept being hesitant. I narrowed my eyes.

“Is there something you want to tell me?” I pushed.

She swallowed, making me see a hint of fear in her.

Discreetly, she looked toward the kitchen where Albert and Aaden were looking at us, waiting. They’re probably already hungry.

Clearing her throat, Diana shook her head. “Nothing, Princess. Everything is perfect and as it should be.”

After having a meal and arranging my luggage, I went straight to my office.

Sitting on the swivel chair, I relaxed, already feeling exhausted from the long list of guests placed on my desk. Everyone was attending my inauguration tomorrow night, and I should at least look into it so I know what to expect.

Unsurprisingly, I saw Mason’ name together with his two daughters, Tracy and Carla.

And next to their names was that mysterious name again… Mr. K.

My eyes lingered in there for a while until the door opened, and Albert came in.

“Everything good?” he asked as he sat on the chair in front of my desk.

Curious, I asked, “Are you sure Mr. K sent his confirmation to attend the party?”

Mr. K remained mysterious, and no one had ever seen his face, nor did he ever attend any public gatherings, not even Krendell’s events.

He nodded. “Yes, his agent Roger sent a formal confirmation saying that Mr. K will attend. But as far as I know, even Roger hasn’t seen him yet. He also advised that since Mr. K didn’t want his face and identity known, he’d be wearing a mask the entire party.”

“A mask?” I repeated.

He shrugged. “Yes, and since it’s the first time he’ll attend something and he’s influential here… We made an exception and changed the party theme to masquerade. This way, the others won’t think we favor him by letting him wear a mask while the others are not.”

“That’s understandable. He’s important enough to make a small change.” I smiled, still feeling stunned. “But I’m still surprised he’s willing to come. After all, he stayed in the background for the past years.”

Though I am the princess, Mr. K brought a huge help to this place, and it's the first time he’ll show up to something, so there’s no harm in doing that.

Albert laughed and stood, going around the desk so he could come and hug me. “Maybe he came specially for you. After all, not only are you the princess, but you’re also very beautiful!”

“Stop it!” I laughed but hugged him back. “I’m already a mother. He probably came to make his position clear. It’s a smart choice of him to stand with the heir of the kingdom.”

In fact, his attendance was beneficial for us. Mr. K would benefit from being on my side, and so would I from his influence. This would prove that the Deadtails, an influential organization, was on my side.

Albert pulled me up and hugged me tighter. “Even if he comes for you, I won’t let him take you away.”

After he said that, he started trailing feathery kisses from my lips down to my neck while his hand caressed my waist and hips.

Then, he started backing away while pulling me. Sitting down, he pulled me on his lap, my arms around his nape while his hands were on my legs. His lips nibbled mine, tongue slowly teasing his way in.

“Princess, oh my… I…” Diana suddenly came in with Sapphire, shocked by what she had seen. Diana turned around and walked back and forth toward the door, unsure whether to leave or not. While Sapphire just remained static on the side.

Albert shook his head. “I’ll see you tonight.” He gave me a swift kiss before he stood and left, sending Diana a quick glance.

Meanwhile, my face was still red from being busted in such a situation. I cleared my throat and called her in.

“Princess…” she said but didn’t speak further.

“What’s happening?” I asked. “Several times today, you hesitated to tell me something. What is it?”

Diana glanced at Sapphire and once again looked hesitant.

I sighed and uttered with confidence, “She’s my Beta. You can trust her, Diana. You can speak freely in front of her. Go on.”
