Chapter 224

Kylian’s POV

“Mr. K, are you sure you want to attend Princess Della’s inauguration dinner in Wakeland?” Roger tried to clarify.

The monotonous voice of a warrior echoed from the other end of the call. Swiveling my chair away from my window, I smiled with confidence. “Of course.”

I’ve never been more sure in my life.

Roger was one of the great warriors whom I encountered at one battle I’ve been in. I saved his life from being a rogue, and in return, he vowed to be my agent even when he only saw my wolf and never my human form.

Right now, he’s in the Wakeland, acting as my right hand and my speaker in Wakeland. If there’s something anyone wanted to talk to me about – the head of Deadtails – it’s Roger they would face. Despite not being aware that I was also the Alpha of the Dark Moon Pack, he remained loyal to me for the past two years.

“But – Are you really sure, Mr. K? I mean… you’ll really reveal who you are and show yourself in the party?” he asked for the nth time, sounding totally confused.

Well, I couldn’t blame him. For the past years, I deliberately hid my identity and remained a mysterious influential man in Wakeland whom everyone was curious about.

“But you didn’t even attend the party of the former manager of Wakeland after he invited you personally; why now?” Roger asked again.

After Della left, I managed to form a strong foothold at Wakeland by leading the Deadtails to provide medicine to children in Wakeland. And despite the influence I managed to form there, I remained hidden, so much so that not anyone could bring me out… because it’s only Della I was there for.

I cleared my throat and firmly replied, “You have way too many questions, Roger. Just follow my damn orders.”

Possibly hearing the strain in my voice, his line became silent for a while before he cautiously replied, “Yes, of course, I’m sorry, Mr. K.”

Pulling himself together, he formally reported, “The accommodation and masks for the inauguration of Princess Della are all prepared.”

“Great.” That’s the only thing I said before nodding and hanging up the phone.

Putting the phone down on the table and leaning my back on my seat, I raised an eyebrow at Henry, who was sitting opposite me and skeptically looking at me. “What?”

“Why aren’t you telling Roger who you really are?” he asked with furrowed brows, confused.

I shook my head while playing with my phone and using it as a spinner. “There’s no need.”

“Why?”

Suddenly, I sighed in frustration. Why was everyone questioning everything right now?

Tapping my phone to stop it, I answered Henry, “I need to hide who I am until Della falls in love with me again. She still hates me now, and my rival in love is her fated mate.”

Suddenly, gloominess rushed over me. I shrugged and continued, “If I appear in her life again as her ex-husband, she’ll surely run away in a matter of seconds.”

Henry scoffed, looking puzzled. “If that’s the case, why even bother going to the party? That event will be flooded by guests. Aren’t you putting yourself at greater risk of exposure?”

“I did this for Della, to get her back…” I looked back at him, seriousness glinting in my eyes. “I got reports that the former manager of Wakeland made some backhanded comments about Della, so I need to make some moves.”

“Comments?” Henry huffed. “Della’s already announced as a princess three years ago. Now, it is just a formality. Who will dare to make negative comments against her?”

“Apparently, he is. He’s spreading words that Della was an omega and is not worthy of leading them,” I explained with gritted teeth.

The second I heard about that, I wanted to come at him and wring his neck!

Della gave up her princess identity and disguised herself as an omega for me! Those despicable guys used this incident to try to attack Della. It is undoubtedly a mockery of our love!

I will not let them go, and I will not let anyone who hurts Della go.

But that time would come… soon.

“Aren’t those leaders appointed by the Lycan King himself? How can they got the guts to speak like that to the princess?” Sarcastically, he continued, “What? Do they really think they’re the masters of Wakeland?”

I could see Henry clenching his jaws as well. Though he and Della had misunderstandings before, he had come to really like her just before she left the pack.

In fact, he officially already saw her as our pack’s Luna. It’s just a shame that things ended up the way they did.

I smirked. “Wakeland can no longer live without Deadtails. And as the leader of it, I’ll stand up for Della. I’ll make sure to slap in his face that Della is the real head of Wakeland.”

“If Luna Della learns about everything you’re doing for her, I’m sure she’ll be moved.” Henry smiled with anticipation, mirroring the hope I had in my heart. “Especially by the fact that you are willing to accept Albert’s son as your own.”

“Once she learns all that, she’ll surely return to you,” he said with confidence, encouraging me.

All of that was nice to hear, but I could only let out a deep sigh because all I could do was wish upon the moon goddess that things would go as I wished.

A bitter smile formed on my lips. “I hope so. I hope you’re right.”

Flashes of memories of all the pain I brought to Della lingered in my mind. No one could imagine the pain she had been through.

That damage I did to Della… It’s not something I could patch up by just doing one or two things. Not to mention that Albert also sacrificed a whole lot of things for Della’s sake. Like me, he was also willing to die for her – something I admired him for before when I was still clueless about who he really was in her life.

I swallowed a lump in my throat, realizing that my rivalry against Albert for Della’s heart would be a long, complicated war.

But no matter what the cost, I’ll make sure to win her back because she’s my life. Without her, I’m lost.

I was still lost in my thoughts when a knock suddenly pulled me back into reality. The door opened, and a maid came in.

After bowing a bit for respect, she reported, “Alpha, Miss Flora woke up. She’s crying again after seeing that you are not there. She’s asking for you.”
