Chapter 219

Della’s POV

I furrowed my brows, and stared at Fae with confusion.

What was she talking about? One in a million chance? What’s that about?

It’s a strange thing to say. I mean if Jackson really find his fate, how could she describe that as something that rare? Even if she’s an omega or a slave, that’s actually already more common that one could think about these days. It wasn’t strange anymore.

Observing her more, I saw how Fae’s eyes were filled with pain, but there’s that glint of confusion and shock in her face. What it was about though, I couldn’t pinpoint.

Cautiously, I asked, “Do… Do you know who it was?”

I was curious. Not only because she’s my brother’s fated mate, but because of what Fae said. But I didn’t want to hurt her by pushing the topic so much.

Taking a deep breath, she momentarily looked away as she wiped her tears clean from her face. With a hoarse voice, she said, “I...I followed Jackson once and found that he went to a place where humans lives... and I saw Jackson’s dating with a human girl.”

Staring in my eyes, she sadly smiled. “His fated mate is a human girl.”

Human girl?

Not only my jaw dropped and my eyes widened, but I also dropped my glass on the ground, totally shocked. The stuttering sound echoed in the room as small bits of shard around.

Now, that’s a real rare occurrences.

It took me a moment before processing it properly and getting unfazed. But once I did, I had the instant urge to confirm if what she said was true.

I mean… A human… That’s even beyond rare for a werewolf to have a human fated mate. She’s right about it being one in a million chances. Since I was born, I only heard three mates like that, and that happened long ago.

“A… A human mate, you said?” I asked again.

She slowly nodded her head, feeling hopeless. “I followed that girl before and tried to contact her.”

“Did you learn something?”

Shrugging, she replied, “Yeah, well, her name is Quinne and she’s currently studying at Evergreen Academy.”

She momentarily paused as a wave of sadness flashed in her face. No, it’s more than that. There’s even a hint of envy when she smiled. “Quinne’s very kind and all that. But, she’s human, Della. There’s no way she can feel that same bond a fated mate have.”

Fisting her hand on her clothes, she looked at me with pain and worry. “And...Della… she has a human boyfriend! She doesn't want Jackson like I do!”

And that information brought a deafening silence between us as we stared at each other, calculating the revelation that just fall between us.

My heart clenched in pain seeing her in that condition. Fae had always been very optimistic and motivated. Yes, she could be quite impulsive, but that’s only because she care and love so much.

And that’s the very reason why she’s also looking very envious toward Quinne. It’s because she deeply love Jackson. But despite that, she remained the kind woman that she was. She’s not even insulting or badmouthing Quinne. She’s being honest.

Her fingers were fidgeting as she tried to calm herself and control her negative feelings.

Reaching out, I held her hand in mind and gave it a squeeze.

She looked at me.

“Why didn’t you tell me sooner?” I whispehred, keeping my focus on her.

She shrugged. “Jackson seems to be intentionally hiding it. You know. He has been discreetly trying to go in humanitarian areas to find oopportunies to see and meet Quinne.”

“Della, I never saw him like that.” She shook her head. “He’s Jackson. He’s that proud prince that’s always been pursued by women and never cared. But now… he’s there. He’s the one maing moves and he looked exceptionally happy whenever Quinne show kindness to him.”

“They met?” I asked, just so she could continue telling me things and lessen the heaviness in her heart.

“Jackson would occasionally follow her secretly when she’s walking back and to her school to keep her safe since she walked around a small alley sometimes. He never got mad at her when she’s doing some silly things…”

Looking up at me, she added in pain, “Della… he was never that tender and caring toward me.”

Couldn’t handle to see the pain in her anymore, I pulled her closer to me and embrace her as tight as I could, letting her feel that she’s not alone. That she had someone who love her so much.

I understand her pain. It’s vivid how deeply in love she was in Jackson… It’s almost the same love I had once for Kylian. And its the same pain I felt whenever I saw Kylian and flora being intimate with each other.

It’s like my heart was being ripped apart.

“You’re hearting… I can feel it. Della…” Trisha called softly before continuing to ask, “Do you still like him? Do you still love Kylian?”

Then, her voice became restrain as a hint of anger was added in her voice as she asked, “Are you still obsessed with that asshole?”

I took a deep breath. “Give me some time, okay? It’s not to easy to forget! Don’t worry though. As long as Kylian doesn’t show up in front of me again, I’ll compeltely forget him soon enough.”

“And if you see him?” she accusingly asked.

“It won’t happen. I already ordered everyone that I didn’t want to see anyone from the Dark Moon Pack,” I firmly said.

After a moment of silence, she finally answered, “Well, I hope that’s true. Because somehow, I always have this feeling that it won’t be that simple.”

Upon hearing that, I ended the ocnverssation and momentarily blocked her. Right now, Fae’s more important.

I held her closer, comforting her and leeting her cry to ease all her pain. After a while, I wshipehred, “It will be difficult of Jackson to be with Quinne.”

She stopped moving for a while, before asking, “Why? That can’t be. I saw it with my own eyes. Jackson is pursuing Quinne. It won’t be long before it happens, you know?”

I shocked my head and laugh a bit before speaking seriously. “No, it won’t. BEcasue he’s not merely a werewolf. He’s the Lycan Prince.
