Della’s POV

Suddenly, it felt like air was being sucked out from my lung. My heartbeat accelerated, sweats formed in my palms, and my chest started feeling heavy.

The time seemed to slow down as my gaze focused on my son, Aaden.

“I heard I look like the Alpha of Dark Moon Pack instead?”

I swallowed the lump in my throat while I stared at my son’s features. His deep brown eyes, his soft pinkish lips forming in a frown, and those cute puffed cheeks. He’s annoyed and curious.

With his arms crossed over his chest, he arrogantly questioned again, “That’s not true though, I’m way more handsome than whoever that is!”

Hearing my son’s follow-up words, I heave a sigh, letting out the breathe I didn’t know I was holding as his cute respond lighten up the room a bit.

Feeling much at ease, I stared back at Albert who remained silent.

For the past three years, he had been good and caring to me like he promise. Like he always had been, and so did to Aaden since the second he was born.

He’s always kind and caring toward him that I could vouch he would never get angry at Aaden like he had to the others when he heard them say such thing.

But the fear in me couldn’t stop from resurfacing whenever that topic was being opened. I was afraid he’d tell Aaden the truth. If not, I fear that it might slip out sooner or later.

Though he could be willful, stubborn, and arrogant sometimes, Aaden was a smart, kind, and sweet child.

He’s still innocent and so pure. He’s still young… He grew up knowing his father was Albert. Hence, he likes Albert so much and he looked up to him. If one day came when he learned he’s not really his father, I knew for sure that he’d be devastated.

And I don’t think I’d ever be ready to see my child in such situation – in such pain.

“Dad?” Aaden called out.

After his long silence, Albert finally smiled and tenderly messed Aaden’s head. “Silly! Of course, you’re my son.”

A glint of stren swiftly glinted in his eyes as he asked, “Which made said that to you?”

“I knew it! There’s no way, what’s they’re saying were true!” Aaden were so delighted by the news, and even waved his hand up in the air.

Albert kept a smile on his face, but this time, it was a bit forced. “Who was it, Aaden?” he asked again.

Aaden stopped and titled his head at Albert, thinking for a while. “It’s Lily.”

“Good boy!” He patted his head. “Now go and play with yout Aunt Diana first. Your Mommy and I have something to talk about.”

He placed Aaden back to the floor, who immediately happily ran toward Diana, pulling her back to his room where more of his toys were place.

Fae, on the othe hand, quietly followed them to give us privacy.

I sighed in relief once we were left alone. The secret remained hidden.

As soon as they came out of our sight now, a huge tender smile formed in Albert’s lips. Swiftly, he extended his arm, wrapped it around my waist, and pulled me close to him. Leaning down, he met my lips, kissing me gently.

Pulling away a bit, he whispered, “I’ll never let our child get hurt. Not in any way.”

Automatically, a huge smile formed in my lips. I knew I didn’t made a wrong choice in entrusting myself and my son to Albert.

I nodded. “I know, thank you.”

Holding my hand, with me leaning on his shoulder, he asked, “We are going to Wakeland next month, are you ready?”

Right… It’s been three years, and we already ran out of time of the vacation I asked for. It’s time to go back.

“As ready as I’ll ever be.” Smiling, I leaned up and gave him a peck on the lips.

Since the day I left, I’ve been preparing for this day. The day I’d come back and face everything.

“I’ll be holding a masked bouquet in Wakeland on the seventh of the month.” He stared at me, continuing, “You’ll have to meet with the previous managers of Wakeland and get familiar with them.”

“Of course, it’s the right thing to do.” I’ve been gone long enough, and I knew many things had changed then.

Suddenly remembering something important, I flicked my finger. “Oh! And please prepare the guest list for me.”

“You mean this?” he asked teasingly, revealing a maroon clipped documented folder with a “Guest List” label on the side of it.

I narrowed my eyes and laughed. “You know me so well.”

As soon as he handed it over, I started scanning inside, and my eyes immediately fell on a strange name among the guests’ names. “Mr.K”

Pointing a finger on it, I confusingly asked, “Who’s this? I don’t think I’ve ever heard of him before.”

He tapped his finger on the folder. “That, my princess, is the boss behind the Deadtails.”

“Deadtails?”

“Yes, Deadtails. Wakeland is surrounded by ocean, which I know you are well aware of. Hence, there’s only a small land area where a few forest were located. That environmental property caused the development of werewolves in smaller areas to be slower,” he started.

“Then that means, they’re also weaker than average werewolves,” I concluded.

Nodidng, he continued, “Exactly. Because of that, they’ve become a common target and had frequent attacks. But two years ago, Deadtails arised and they developed the Comfrey Serum which alleviate all the symptom and help them develop in normal phase.”

“Is it effective?”

“Actually, yes. After they conducted a test and ensure it’s safety, it’s been promoted in Wakeland this year. It’s so effective and some folk even said Wakeland could no longer be without it,” he finished.

After processing that much information, I only let out a small laugh. “Well, Mr.K seemed very mysterious,” I said while looking at his file. “He didn’t even showed up at the signing for the supply contract. Will he be willing to come out now just to attend the party?”

“Without a doubt,” he arrogantly started. “I mean, you’re the most popular princess in the kingdom, who had disappreaad from the public’s eyes for three years. Mr.K, like everyone eles, is surely looking forward to your comeback.”

Shrugging, he added, “Besides, it’s a masked banquet. Everyone will be wearing a mask, including Mr.K. He got nothing to worried about if he didn’t want to be recognized.”

“Well, no matter who he is or what he looks like, as long as he does a good job being Wakeland’s supplier, he’ll be the Wakeland’s guest of honor,” I nonchalantly said, closing the document.

Deep in me, I couldn’t help but admire whoever Mr.K was. He manage to solve the thorny problem in Wakeland, which was very thankful off.

Seeing as he was also single, I knew every unmated she-wolf in Wakeland already heart about it and was eager to be Mr.K’s chosen mate. Thinking of that, a smile naturally formed in my lips.

“Why are you smiling?” he stared at me with wonder.

I shook my head. “It’s nothing.”

“Oh, right, before I forgot. You remember the Rogue King?”
