Chapter 205

1530words
Della’s POV

In my entire life, I never thought I’d come to a time when I was utterly lost, confused, and, most of all, scared. I was so scared that I didn’t even have a second to worry if I’d live the next minute or not.

“What happened? Is the princess alright?”

“No! Is that blood on her dress?”

“A lot of it!”

“That fucking scumbag!”

“Did that asshole hurt the princess?”

“What? Alpha Kylian hurt her? He’ll pay big time!

Blood and screams of terror and worry enveloped the hall… Lying down on the ground, feeling cold and stone, I did my best to look down, which brought more tears streaming down my cheeks – tears that could create a river.

My baby…

There I was, lying on the stage in my own pool of fresh red blood. The stinky metal scent lingered in my nostrils, and my heartbeat, which was beating wildly earlier, started becoming shallow and weak.

“No… This can’t happen…” I whispered in denial of the painful truth that I might actually lose my child.

“I… Della… What’s happening? Are you okay?” Kylian tried to come to my aid, but I had enough of him.

In an ear-piercing voice, I shouted, “Don’t fucking touch me!”

My scream echoed in the entire hall, carrying all my pain.

“Get off of her!” I heard Albert shouting, followed by a loud falling sound when he pushed Kylian aside.

“I’m here, Della. You’ll be fine,” Albert worriedly whispered to me before he slid his arms beneath my legs and back to carry me in a bridal style.

Leaning my head on his chest, I cried my heart out while listening to his heartbeat, finding warmth and calmness in it.

When we got a bit far from Kylian, I placed my palm on his chest to get his attention. He halted for a while and looked at me. “Please…”

Staring at Albert with red and teary eyes, I begged with the last straw of my strength and sanity, “Please save my puppy. Please…”

No one else knew about my pregnancy except for Jackson and his beta. Everyone was just making assumptions about what happened to me, but they were all clueless about the truth.

Albert was the only one I can turn to now.

“Please...” I repeated, staring at his eyes in a pleading way while gasping from the pain.

Albert hold on me tightened, staring utterly shocked at me. His breathing became heavy and fast, and his jaws tightened.

“Are you stupid? Our pup is Kylian’s! There is no way Albert will save our pup!” Trisha reminded me, pain evident in her voice.

Oh goddess...She’s right…

It’s so selfish and stupid of me to ask my fated mate to save my pup from another man. What was I thinking?

But what else could I do… It’s my pup… My own blood and flesh. And among everyone else right now, he’s the only one I could trust besides me.

“Agh…” I whimpered again when a sharp pain cursed in me again.

As if cold water was thrown at me, I swallowed a lump as I cried and let go of Albert, shifting my eyes away from him as guilt surged in me. “I’m sorry for asking…” I whispered.

“Don’t be,” he replied, making my eyes wide.

Before I could say anything more, he shifted the way he was carrying me so there wouldn’t be much pressure on my belly before shouting in a frantic voice, “Call the doctor this instant! The princess is in danger!”

Albert ran, pushing through the group of guests blocking our path to the door. I looked up, and my chin shivered as I saw how focused and genuine he was.

Albert was looking straight ahead, so focused on getting out of the hall and bringing me to the doctor as soon as possible. There wasn’t even a hint of anger in him. It’s all… worry and love.

What did I do to deserve a man like him?

Before we went out of the hall, I heard the tapping of the mic followed by Jackson’s dominating voice, “I’m sorry, ladies and gentlemen, but due to an emergency, I officially announce that this banquet is canceled.”

His rushed footsteps followed after that. Looking past Albert’s shoulders, I saw Jackson hurriedly following behind us with his warriors pushing way for us. His eyebrows were furrowed, his eyes were red, and his chest was rising and falling in panic.

“Y-you’ll be fine… I swear you’ll be fine…” Jackson was running beside us, momentarily able to hold my head as he spoke those words with gloom.

I never thought I’d ever see Jackson like that. It almost looks like he was in a wreck.

Even people who don’t know much about medicine know that bleeding in pregnant women is a sign of miscarriage.

Jackson probably didn't expect that this incident would have such a big impact on me and his dear little nephew. He looked so flustered and remorseful.

But thinking about the past few days, I could understand his reaction. He really likes my pup. Despite how much he hated Kylian, it showed that he was excited about his future niece or nephew, and he couldn’t care less who the father was.

Once we went out of the door, Jackson unexpectedly blocked Albert. Standing dominatingly in front of him, he extended his arms. “I’ll carry her.”

He was staring threateningly at Albert.

Narrowing my eyes, I stared at Jackson.

“I won’t hurt Della… and her puppy. Della’s pup is my pup… I don’t care who the biological father is. As long as it’s hers.” Albert stared back at Jackson with determination.

Jackson was stunned. He blocked Albert because he was worried that Albert would hurt my pup, since it’s not Albert’s. But he didn't expect Albert to say such words.

Neither did I.

My heart stopped beating while Trisha froze in my mind. We were both completely stunned by Albert’s words. “His love is unconditional…”

I cried even harder at that, left speechless. Seeing and hearing Albert… Kylian’s love I thought was so deep before, couldn’t even be compared to Albert’s love for me. No… it’s not even as half as deep as his.

But I gave everything for Kylian. How stupid I am.

Jackson took a little while, as if seeing if Albert was speaking the truth because he nodded and smiled with approval. “I knew I was right about you. You are the most suitable man for Della.”

The second Jackson stepped aside, Albert didn’t waste time and rushed as fast as he could to the hospital.

When we reached the parking lot of the hospital, and the emergency room was getting near my sight as the scent of alcohol started to become stronger, Trisha said something that broke my heart.

“Della… our pup… he’s starting to fade away… I can feel it.”

“No! Please...Albert. We are losing it...” I shouted in pain as I struggled in Albert’s arms, who ran even faster after feeling my movements.

I burst into tears in his warm arms. The thought of losing my pup felt like a thousand needles were sticking into my heart.

It’s my puppy, my child. I love it more than anything or anyone. With Kylian or not, I’ll never give up on it. I was even so excited about my pup’s arrival that I already chose the best supplies for her or him. My room was filled with various clothes and even a stroller!

But today, I not only lost the happiness I thought was about to come, but was also losing my dear child...

“I need a doctor here! Please look at her!” Albert shouted as soon as he placed me on one of the gurney. His eyebrows frowned, and his alpha aura filled the entire hospital because of his anxiety.

Nurses and doctors ran to my aid.

“Please, my baby, don’t leave me. Please… I love you so much…” I silently said to my pup as I held my stomach.

“How is she? How’s the baby?” Albert asked in panic while he held my hand and urgently looked at the doctor who was examining me.

I was so thankful right now that he was here. Because even when he wasn’t the real father of my child, he was here by my side as if it were his.

The doctor removed his stethoscope from my stomach and shook his head helplessly. “It’s best for pregnant women to be severely emotionally stressed during the early stage of pregnancy. Judging from Princess Della’s situation, the baby cannot be saved unless some miracle happens.”

Miracle…

When I heard the word “miracle,” Lucas’s words came to mind. “Carry this necklace I gave you with you. It can save the person you love most…”

That’s now… This was the moment I needed a miracle.

With that in mind, I pulled out the necklace from my neck and held the pendant. On the embossed part of the moon, I held it tight and prayed for a miracle to happen.

“That’s…”

The moon opened, and a small blue pill came into everyone’s view.
