Chapter 187

After listening to Fae’s words, my breathing became heavy, and my heart trembled with unimaginable pain.
At that moment, a strange scene flashed through my mind. I saw Albert stood in the middle of the reef with a loose jacket and a gray T-shirt.
Suddenly someone pierced his heart with a crude spear from behind, and blood flowed down the sharp spear tip.
He turned around with difficulty, tore apart the attacker's chest with his claws, and slowly fell to the ground under the gaze of everyone. Under the gaze of me.
With his blood-stained Adam's apple slid slightly, he struggled to spit out a sentence.
"Don't tell Della..."
“Albert...” I murmured, my heart skipping fast with pain invading my thoughts.
Why can I imagine such a vivid picture out of air as if I have seen it with my own eyes?
I covered my heart and gasped for air.
Obviously Trisha also felt the pain since she moaned and yelled, "Don't think about it anymore! Our hearts hurt so much that we almost can't breathe. This will affect the puppy."
I totally agreed with her. Yes, I couldn’t think about it anymore.I was carrying Kylian’spuppy anyway. I can no longer use such imaginary images to interfere with my decision.
But my eyes welled up with tears.
I couldn’t imagine how selflessly in love Albert was with me, even thinking of me until the brink of death, and how, even in his afterlife, he was willing to spend it watching over me.
And he’s all willing to do that without any assurance that I could reciprocate his love.
With all that, I couldn’t even think of any words to retort. I was just there, frozen still in my place, as I took the time to process it all.
“Hey! Stop fidgeting! What is it?” she asked, pulling me out of my daze.
After blinking a couple of times, I sighed and held my belly. “I’m pregnant, Fae.”
“What? You are what?” she shouted, standing up in utter shock.
“Fae! My gosh!” I shouted in a low voice and held her wrist, pulling her back to her seat. “Lower your voice, will you? We’re in a public place.”
Then, I pointed around where other customers couldn’t help but look at us.
She frantically nodded after gesturing an apology to the other customers. “What did you just say?” she asked, couldn’t believe her own ears.
“I’m pregnant, and it’s Kylian’s.” I finally manage to admit it.
With her jaw dropped, I continued, “So now I hope you understand why Albert and I are impossible to ever happen.”
She froze in there for a couple of minutes before her breathing became normal.
“Oh, Della…” she sighed in realization and leaned in to engulf me in a tight and warm embrace. “As regrettable as the situation is, I will support all of your decisions.”
“Like you can do anything more,” I joked, which she mimicked.
After a few more minutes of chat and a few drinks, we finally decided to part ways.
As soon as I entered back to the hospital, gloom once again loomed over me. Looking around, I found no other secluded area than the emergency fire exit.
Gloomed with the pain and uncertainties of my life, I entered it and sat down on the stairs. Finally, all the tears welled up in my eyes, and all the sorrow built up in my chest uncontrollably streamed out of me.
Tears flew down my cheeks like a rainy storm. This time, I didn’t bother hiding it.
“Trisha… Was I really being mean to Albert?” I solemnly asked Trisha.
“Trisha?” I called out when seconds passed without her reply.
“It’s not your fault. Don’t take it to heart. We have a pup, and you’re just doing what’s right.”
That made my heart skip a beat. With a bitter smile, I choked, “But that’s just it. It’s not just about our pup. I love him. I love him so much!”
Knowing that there were no more things to say, Trisha and I let the silence surround us until we calmed down. Shortly after, my phone pinged.
Looking at the screen, it’s a message from Albert. “Della, I have something to do. I won’t be able to attend your party.”
Once again, my heart bled in pain and guilt. He’s a huge part of Wakeland’s success, yet he won’t attend it, and I knew that it was because of me.
My hands tightened on my phone as I wept in pain while staring at his message. I wished I could do more to ease the pain and suffering I brought to Albert, but no… I’m useless.
And I knew that being close to him right now would just bring him even more pain. The best thing to do was the most hurtful thing, and that’s to keep a distance between us.

For the past few days, I’ve been having a hard time eating and sleeping as my guilty conscience started to eat my sanity.
If it weren’t for Diana, who always pays good attention to me and endlessly reminds me to eat for my pup, I wouldn’t be as healthy as I am now.
“I’ve sent more boxes on your way. And also… I’ve said to Albert what you wanted me to say.” Jackson texted me.
After days of thinking, I’ve decided to free Albert. I told Jackson that he should make Albert leave Wakeland already. I couldn’t handle him being there anymore on my behalf, risking his life, when there was nothing I could do for him in return.
Also, I think the new uncle was getting more excited before for weeks now, I’ve been receiving baby products from Jackson.
He started doing that as soon as he got the news of my pregnancy.
I’m also glad to see his excitement for his furniture, nephew, or niece. It seemed like his love for my child wasn’t affected by his prejudice against Kylian.
I couldn't help but wonder how Jackson would test Kylian. But I thought no matter what method he would use, Kylian could pass.
Standing up from the bed, I went outside to see Diana already arranging Jackson’s gifts.
“Look, Ms. Della. Prince Jackson sent more again,” she said with a small laugh as I did.
I sat on the sofa while she continued doing her work.
“What are you doing, Ms. Della? Do you need anything?” she asked with concern, momentarily stopping her work.
I shook my head and cheekily said, “Nope! Just looking for newborn clothes online.”
Diana laughed. “Guess it’s not only Prince Jackson’s who was excited.”
After a while, Diana came at me again and reported, “Ms. Della, Alpha Kylian is here.”
As soon as I heard that, I put my things away and waited for Kylian to come in. Up until now, he had been unaware of what would happen at the party, and I wanted to keep it a secret and a surprise.
Unexpectedly, Kylian walked in with Henry towing after him.
I subconsciously smiled as I swooned at Kylian’s appearance. He was standing tall with his handsome face and muscular body. He wore khaki pants paired with a white tucked-in rolled-up polo, making him so captivating and hot that my heart went wild.
“How’s my most beloved woman?” Kylian enthusiastically greeted me as he strode toward me and engulfed me in a loving embrace.
With my head on his shoulder and hands wrapped around his waist, I asked in a muffled tone, “Is the pack’s matter settled?”
After giving me a tender kiss on my forehead, he leaned away just a little bit to look me in the eyes. “Luke will soon be kicked out of the pack, and he’ll lose all his assets and title, making him a rogue. With all the evidence at hand, all his accomplices - even the elders, will be severely punished.”
I nodded, not showing any excessive emotions, as I knew it also pained him. Hence, I embraced him more tightly to give him comfort.
With his head above mine, he suddenly said, “Babe, I want you to meet someone.”
Forrowing my brows, I asked in confusion, “Who?”
With a swift kiss on my lips, he smirked and said, “Gianna.”
Gianna? The woman who looked the same as me, but had Flora’s personality?
Why did Kylian suddenly ask me to see her?
I looked at Kylian suspiciously, but he looked in a good mood, smirking like a teenager who had prepared a surprise and was waiting for praise...
