Chapter 171

I ran as fast as I could to the point wherein the wind that blew on my face had already messed up a few strands on my hair.
As I reached the forest, I couldn’t help but silently thank that I wore sneakers at the event instead of heels. Pushing away the branches and twigs along the way, I finally reached the inspection house at the front of the border.
Tiptoeing, I reached the top of the fence and pulled myself up, successfully climbing it. Sitting on the top, I opened my eyes and saw the back window open.
It was small and located at the top of the house, so no one was paying attention to it. Luckily, I saw that it wasn’t locked. I jumped over the window and opened it slowly to prevent any noise that could alert the Crimson Pack.
I was holding tightly on the side with my foot resting on the small edges of the wall. Looking closely, I found all the laboratory personnel squatting on the ground with their hands on the back of their heads.
Both their feet and wrists were tied, making any kind of escape impossible.
“Those fucking guars just won’t budge!” One of the members of the Crimson Pack came in, looking frustrated.
“What? Do they really want us to kill these fools?” the other one replied as he slapped the head of the nearest man in him.
“I’ll deal with those! Come with me,” the man confidently and arrogantly instructed everyone as he called a few of his men to go with him.
It looked like he’d negotiated more fiercely with the border guards.
But because of that, only five of them were left inside to guard the hostages.
‘That’s good. Lesser people I need to deal with,’ I thought, feeling a bit of a sense of relief.
“Relief? Are you kidding me? Look carefully! Those are not just five men; they are giving young, muscular warriors! And… They’re strong and obviously well-trained!” Trisha exclaimed.
I stared at those five men and nonchalantly replied to Trisha, “You’re right. They do well-trained. Don’t they?”
“My goddess, Della! For your pup’s sake, don’t be impulsive!” she scolded further.
I sighed at that.
I could handle them so easily, even if there were more than five. But because of my pregnancy… Trisha was right. I needed to be more careful.
Be cautious… Don’t be impulsive…
Like a mantra, I kept repeating those words in my head while I scrutinized the situation in more detail.
My eyes then fell on a fat man who was sitting on one of the swivel chairs.
He was wearing a blue uniform and the buttons were almost about to pop. He was leisurely drinking his coffee, just letting the rest worry about everything.
“Is he the leader?” I whispered with narrowed eyes.
He probably had a high rank in the Crimson Pack seeing as how pampered he was being treated.
‘Wait… He seems familiar…’ I thought and tried to recall where I had seen him.
It quickly crossed my mind that I had read the report on the Crimson pack, the one Troy had sent.
The picture of this fat man is on the page of Crimson pack leadership team.
Right! I remembered him.
He’s Arnold Morgan, and he’s the second-in-command of the Crimson Pack.
With a smirk plastered on my lips, I confidently said to Trisha, “Looks like I don’t need to deal with five people to begin with.”
“What? Wa—”
Before Trisha could finish her protest, I already let go and jumped down. I bended my knee to lessen the impact on the ground before I stood up properly.
Arnold was shocked and let go of his coffee which spilled on the table. Not giving him time to recover from shock, I used my feet to kick his ankle.
With his weight, it didn’t take much effort for him to lose his balance, making him kneel on the ground.
He tried to fight; it was a piece of cake for me. I held him down by putting pressure on his left shoulder with my left hand while my right hand was at his neck with my nails elongated.
“One wrong move, and I’ll slit his throat,” I menacingly said as I threw deadly stares at the other four men who showed their fangs.
Two of them tried to take a step forward, so I immediately pushed my nails closer to Arnold’s neck which scratched his skin a bit.
I felt him trembling, making me smirk. What a coward! Was this really the second-in-command of a known ruthless pack?
“Follow her words! Don’t make unnecessary movements!” he ordered his men as he clenched his jaws.
“You better know what you are doing young girl, Crimson Pack is nothing a pack to be messed with,” he threatened.
“Yeah? And so is the Dark Moon Pack.” After saying that, I tightened my hold on him even further, making him moan in pain.
Looking at his men, I pointed at all the laboratory personnels and ordered them, “Let them go.”
They stared at Arnold, asking for permission.
“Do it,” he immediately said, obviously afraid that I’d lose my patience and kill him.
Once they were all free, I pointed at the small window at the back. “You guys see that? One after another quietly crawl there and climb the wall to escape.”
They all nodded their heads as they looked at me with gratitude. Many of them would even mouth their thanks and I’d only give a small smile. After all, it’s no time to rejoice yet.
After a few minutes, they all have successfully escaped, giving me a bit of a sense of relief.
I was about to follow them and throw Arnold, when the door suddenly opened and all those outside came in.
“What the…” the arrogant man earlier cursed. And immediately after realizing the situation their boss was in, they all shifted and surrounded me.
Damn! There’s too many of them!
There’s about fifteen of them or more. I couldn’t possibly be able to deal with so many of them right now while I’m pregnant.
Besides, they were all trained, ruthless warriors. They didn’t have ethics and principles. They were at most like killing machines without conscience with them.
My heart beat faster as I started becoming nervous.
Taking my shock and state of nervousness, Arnold used his back to push me away. Out of my grasp, he hastily stood up and ran toward his men, completely leaving me at their mercy without a hostage.
“Kill her! She freed all the hostages!” he shouted, instructing his men as he pointed a finger at me.
Fuck! I’m so doomed.
That’s the only thing I could say as I looked at the men who were already surrounding me. They pulled their knives out, ready to attack me.
With gritted teeth, I ran to the side and jumped, shifting into my huge wolf.
