Chapter 152
1300words
Panic would be an understatement of what I was feeling right now.
Initially, I wanted to make Delal jealous using Gianna, but this was not what I meant when I thought and planned about it!
No, it’s far from what I imagined things would end up into.
I stood frozen, shifting my eyes between Della and Gianna.
No matter how hard I tried to explain, Della was so stubborn and wouldn’t believe any of my words. Gianna wasn’t being any helpful either because all she did was cry her eyes out. This only deepened the misunderstanding between Della and me.
‘It’s so stupid of me to even think that this would work,’ I scolded myself.
“Don’t tell me I didn’t tell you so…” My wolf mocked, and I was so tempted to smack him on the head if there was any possible way to do so.
But still, I couldn’t understand why Della wouldn’t believe me. It’s a very obvious thing. Who would be in their right mind to do such an act in public?
I couldn’t believe that she’d think we were doing something so inappropriate for her to even doubt that the water could be Gianna’s saliva.
That mere idea was enough to make me vomit out in disgust.
I bit the side of my inside cheek, thinking carefully as I stared at Della’s retreating figure.
Did I disappoint her so much in life that she could no longer listen to my explanation, much less believe it?
Sadness flashed in my eyes.
I wave my hand. “Tell her–”
My words stopped when Della suddenly smirked and uttered with conviction, “Disgusting!”
I wanted all the warriors who witnessed what really happened to tell her the truth on my behalf, but her curse and how fast she wanted to leave showed me that she didn’t want to listen anymore.
Della’s beautiful almond eyes looked straight into my eyes. It’s filled with disgust and disappointment as if all my wrongdoings had flashed before her while looking at me.
I was flustered. Immediately, I ran after her, not caring about the condition I was in. But just after a few steps, Gianna’s weak hands held my hand, stopping me.
I momentarily stopped before looking at Gianna with fury in my eyes. Pulling away my hand harshly and murderously looking at her with narrowed eyes, I asked, “How dare you, a pretentious bitch dare to touch me?”
Trembling with anger, I was continuously reminding myself that I needed her for the show I was plotting and that I should suppress my anger and not kill her.
Before I knew it, Della’s pace had already quickened, and she already vanished from my eyes.
Seeing my anger, Gianna abruptly knelt down and pitifully looked up to me with tears in her eyes. “P-please don’t be angry… Don’t punish me, I beg you. I know that I’m wrong. I’ll explain it to Luna Della. Please…”
When I didn’t reply, she went on, “I don’t care what happens to me. I swear with my life that I didn’t want to destroy your relationship with Luna Della.”
Gianna cried even harder, letting everyone see how ‘fragile’ and ‘pitiful’ she was.
But looking down into her face, all I saw was a reflection of Flora’s face. I’ve seen that expression too many times before on Flora’s, and it's the expression that caused me to hurt Della over and over again until she was pushed so far that she’d been so determined to leave me.
I’ve been fooled once, and I’ve vowed not to ever fall for that very same trick again.
Without remorse, I slapped Gianna with the back of my hand, making her fall to the ground and scream in pain. Her right cheek was covered with a red mark on my hand.
“Don’t use that trick on me. It can work for the other warriors, but never for me.” after saying that with conviction, I turned and ready to leave.
After a step though, her hand immediately grabbed the end of her trousers.
“Your pants are wet from the water. It won’t be good if you see Luna Della looking like this… I think it will be better if you remove it and let me dry it for you. I… I can help you change your pants.”
I looked at her with bewilderment.
What? Help me change my pants?
How could a she-wolf volunteer to help a man who’se not her mate change his pants? I pursed my lips.
Seeing her have the same face as Della while acting without decency made me feel sick.
“Just you wait… When the right time comes, and I no longer need you, I’ll kill you with my bare hands,” I vowed to myself while staring at her with a murderous glare.
I never wanted to kill someone this much in my life. Once I get enough evidence for Luke’s crimes, I’d make Gianna regret all of her decisions and tricks.
Looking at her coldly, I sternly uttered, “Don’t play tricks on me again. Engrave this on that thick face of yours. I’d never be seduced or deceived by you.”
Shifting my eyes to the two warriors on either side of the pillars, I commanded in an alpha voice, “Imprison her!”
The warriors immediately moved from their post and hesitantly approached Gianna.
They grabbed her in each of her arms so gently, but because she tried to struggle so much, they had no choice but to tighten their holds on her in fear that it would anger me if they didn’t obey my orders and be dismissed from their work like Joey.
“Please! No! I…” Gianna struggled and tried to break free as she begged me for mercy, but I couldn’t care less with her.
I was running out of time.
Looking at my wet pants, I messed my hair and had no choice but to run in a hurry toward Della and jump into the air, shifting into my wolf form.
As soon as my four paws landed on the ground, I roared and ran as fast as I could.
I blocked Della’s path and mindlinked her, “It’s all a misunderstanding. There are many witnesses in there, and some are even warriors. We can call them, and they can explain it properly to you. Please…”
Della crossed her arms over her chest and looked at my wolf without fear. “No need to bother them. We will both be divorced anyway, and I’d leave the pack. Even if you have sex with her in the hallway, it’s none of my business.”
Divorce… There goes that word again. Whenever I hear that, I can’t help but feel helpless.
Taking a deep breath, I said, “You won’t, Della. Don’t lie to me. As long as you’re still Dark Moon’s Luna, you won’t just idle by and let me face shame in front of the pack members.”
She could be as angry at me as she would like to show, but she’s a responsible Luna, and that’s one of the many reasons why I fell so deeply in love with her.
She just scoffed at me, showing that what I saw was right.
After she calmed down, I became more serious and said, “Let’s have dinner tomorrow night. I have something important to tell you. It’s about Luke.”
“What about him now?”
I went quiet for a while before replying, “What you said before about him… I think I believe it now.”
She was completely stunned, looking thoroughly at me as if to read me.
“Do you really believe now that Luke accepted a bribe from the Crimson Pack?” Della tilted her head and looked at me with doubt and disbelief.
Apparently, she didn't believe I would suspect Luke of guilt at all.
