Chapter 146

Kylian’s POV

I looked down at her face, whose once overlapped with Della's was now overlapping with Flroa’s image from my memory.

Instantly, I laughed sarcastically.

Now, I’m seeing every foolishness I had done before. I was so stupid! How could I not realize that Flora was merely putting an act back then?

Since yesterday, I’ve been trying my best to accept the fact that Della had officially set boundaries between us and made it as clear as day that there’s no more hope for our relationship.

But the keyword would be “try”.

Drinking, shouting, eating, watching her from afar. Name it all, I tried everything I could think of to accept the idea of her not being in my life.

But in the end, it’s all in vain.

No matter how hard I tried, my heart had its own opinion. My love for her was so deep that I felt like I’d drown to death if she wouldn’t be there to hold me afloat.

“It’s all my fault…” I thought to myself as I stared at the woman kneeling in front of me.

Looking at how fake she was, I was more reminded of Flora.

She may have a face almost similar to Della's, but her heart and character are more similar to Flora's.

If only Flora didn’t come into my life, then maybe Della and I would still be happy together. Della would never leave me like now!

Flora’s full of lies, and so was this impostor woman. They both like acting weak.

But what’s more disappointing was the fact that Flora’s my fated mate.

I scoffed in dismay. How could my fated mate be that kind of woman? A woman who knew nothing but to tell lies and scheme her way in and out. I was a fool to let her manipulate me into being indifferent towards my chosen mate, Della.

“Why? Just why did you bond me with her? Why didn’t you open my eyes sooner to see all the truth around me that I’m so blinded to see?” I asked the mood goddess in my mind.

Della and I love each other so much. But why didn’t we just be the fated mates? And when we chose each other, why did we have to end up being separated?

“No!” I said to myself with conviction.

I wouldn’t and couldn’t accept that. The last thing I’d accept was being completely separated from Della.

Looking down at Gianna with indifference in my eyes, I kicked her off from holding onto my legs with disgust.

Seeing her face only reminded me of where my biggest mistakes had started.

A pang of guilt and pain surged in my heart, remembering how I hurt Della only because I felt pity for a woman I didn’t even love. And that I’d regret for the rest of my life. And something I’d never do again.

With narrow eyes, I asked, “What’s your name?”

“G–Gianna…” she answered in a trembling voice, getting back to kneeling. This time, far from me.

She’s right, though. My father would likely kill her after she’d been caught.

Looking between Gianna and my father, who Ryan was still holding, I made up my mind.

I approached her and harshly held her tightly by her upper arm. She yelped in pain, but I didn’t care and just dragged her out of the house with me.

I did it not because I pity her but because I still needed her.

With her, I think I’d be able to dig deeper into my father’s secrets.

I heard my father's laughter as we walked out of the house. “I knew it! You couldn’t resist!” he shouted with mockery.

He must have thought that he had won. He was probably rejoicing, thinking he’d control me again and had succeeded in placing Gianna as the new Luna. Well, he could think that for as long as he wanted, but it won’t be that long because he’s dead wrong.

I’m done being his puppet!

My heart had been broken into many pieces. My ego had been stomped on so bad. And my life had come to a downfall. My world had collapsed.

And the first step for me to stand back up from my fall was to open my eyes.

I’d never respect him again, much less trust him. Not as the former alpha and not as my father.

Once we arrived back at my residence, I dropped Gianna on the floor like a bean bag and went straight to the staircase to get back to my room.

Unsurprisingly, she held my wrist.

“Wait… Let me thank you properly for saving me. Hmmm?” she seductively asked while her hand slid so gently up to my arm, and her lips reached my ears by tiptoeing.

Her breath was fanning onto my ears as she spoke, “I’ll satisfy you.”

Disgusting!

I held her hand, holding onto me, and pushed her away without mercy. Due to the force I exerted, she stumbled back and hit the side table beside the couch. She yelped in pain as the corner hit her back and looked at me with wide eyes.

“Henry!” I called out. In a matter of few seconds, he came out of the kitchen with his mouth still a bit full.

After swallowing, he asked, “Yes, Alpha?”

“Have someone change her into the uniform for the lowest level of slave omegas.” I pointed at Gianna.

Henry came forward and held her up by her arm. With a snap of his finger, an omega who just come out of cleaning the room downstairs came to us. “Greetings, Alpha Kylian and Beta Henry,” the omega said, lowering her head a bit.

“Give her some used-up clothes for slave omegas,” he instructed.

On the other hand, Gianna looked up at me with trying-hard puppy eyes. She’s trying to act pitiful again. “W-what does that mean?”

I hate it!

Not being able to hold my temper, I grabbed her by her hair and pulled her head close to mine. Sarcastically, I asked with pursed lips, “Didn’t you say earlier that you’d do anything for me? And that you’ll satisfy me?”

I nodded my head and stared at her with dark eyes. “Then, I’m only giving what you want! You’ll be cleaning the toilets like what you deserve to do.”

Letting her go with disgust, I looked at the omega and said, “Take her away. And make sure to give her special treatment.”

The omega looked at me for a while before she smirked while looking at Gianna. “I understand, Alpha.”

Understanding that she must give Gianna a hard time.

Just as she was about to be dragged away, I added, “Don’t let her anywhere near my residence.”

After that, the omega dragged Gianna away.

As soon as they vanished from our sight, Henry asked, “Why did you bring her back only to clean the toilet?”

“Luke’s a corrupt!” I said with sourness in my voice.

“What? Are you sure?” Obviously, he’s just as surprised as I was.

We always saw the worst in him, but none of us thought that he could be that worse.

Leaning on the rail of the stairs, I told him what I saw in Luke’s house. “Everything was so expensive. It’s more than what he could afford with his own money.”

“What should we do now?”

I shook my head. “I don’t have any evidence yet. As long as I keep Gianna near me, Luke will relax, thinking he’d succeed in his plan. I’ll pay less attention to Della at the same time so he won’t target her anymore.”

That way, Della would be safe as well. Things just got more serious. It’s a battle between me and Luke now. I needed her safe more than anything.

Henry nodded in understanding, but he later narrowed his eyes as if detecting something more. “You’re hitting two birds with one stone, huh?”

I smirked. Indeed, he’s my beta and best friend. He knew me too well.

Yes, that’s exactly what I was planning to do. Not only would I be able to keep Luke in check, but I’d also be able to see Della’s true feelings for me.

There’s no way I could ever believe that she’d be so heartless and had really fallen out of love with me.

“So, what’s your next plan?”
