Henry broke in my room without my invitation. He stood there, staring at me haughtily, without even bowing to me.
I raised an eyebrow as my eyes observed him from head to toe. He had this arrogance radiating all over him, but the one thing I saw most was how red his face was.
He was raging with anger. And based on his clenched fist, he was trying to suppress his emotions from showing.
Obviously, he’s doing a bad job in controlling it as its so evident in his face.
“Let’s talk,” Henry uttered, taking an opressing step toward me.
Not that it affected me, but Diana immediately stood between us and gave henry a murderous glare.
With her arms open, trying to protect me and block Henry’s path, she said with quivering voice, “What do you want? Leave this instant!”
I could hear Diana’s fast beating heart. With how much anger was radiating on Henry, it’s not a surprise how much affected Diana was. Afer all, Henry was a Beta, and she’s just an omega.
I stared at the back of her head, feeling touched. Though she wasn’t strong and powerful, she never think twice to use her own body to protect me and block all the threats coming my way.
She’s scared… but she chose to be courageous. Her loyalty was something I could never find to anyone else. She’s a real gem.
“I said leave!” Diana raised her voice, but subconsciously backed away near me when Henry took another step.
He was just staring deeply at her with narrowed eyes, but his cleccnhed jaw and heavy steps was enough to intimidate Diana.
Diana… but not me.
‘He wants to talk, then so be it.’
I gently placed my hand on Diana’s trembling shoulder, and pulled her to face me. With a reassuring smile, I instructed, “It’s fine, you can step aside.” Shifting my eyes on Henry with a dominating stare, I continued, “I wanted to have a good chat with him anyway.”
“But…” She looked at me with eyes filled with worry. She looked down on my belly, hinting me about my pregnancy. Of course Diana knew Henry was incapable of hurting me. But she was still very nervous because of my puppy.
I smiled. She’s really a worrier. She knew how fragile and precious my child for so she was so worried about our well being.
Discreetly, I placed my palm on my belly. “It’s fine, really.” I said while looking in her eyes, to show her that I was really fine and that I could handle it.
Being pregnant and the heir myself, I knew that Diana was worried about my safety, but its also the exact reason why I shouldn’t bow down to anyone.
As the future ruler of the kingdom, I should become stronger and face all the difficulties coming at my way with a spine and a held head high. So did my puppy.
“I’ll handle it. I’ll protect it…”
After we stared for a while, Diana gave in and nodded before she left.
“Huh!” Henry mocking scoffed. “Your so protective of that bastard when you don’t even know who’s its father!”
Hearing him insulting my child was my bottom line that he shouldn’t have crossed.
Instantly, my nails prolonged and in a blink of an eyes, I crossed the gap between us and strangled his neck.
With pursed lips, I warned, “Don’t you dare insult my child ever again.”
My voice was laced with dominance and authority of a princess. My anger forbid me to hide this time.
When he coughed, I let go harshly, making him almost fall to the ground.
As if nothing happened, I retracted my nails, sat on the chair, and leaned back with ease. “Why did you come to me?”
He looked at me with surprised which he immediately concealed. After standing properly, he stood in front of me… and behave more politely.
“Now, wasn’t that so hard?” I thought sarcastically.
It’s annoying how most people would need threatening before acting with respect.
With anger glinting in his eyes,he asked, “What on earth did you say to Alpha Kylian? What is it that he fell into such depression?”
Depression? My heart tingled. Is Kylian having a bad time now?
“How’s he doing?” I asked subconsciously before I even thought of anything.
“Agh! Why even ask? It’s none of your business!” I scolded myself as soon as I realized it. We already broke up so I shouldn’t be paying anymore attention to him.
But because Henry opened the topic, I couldn’t help but remember how Kylian looked yesterday. He’s a powerful alpha, but he looked so dejected and broken when he left in an unsteady steps under the rain.
Just the image of him looking like that brought pang in my heart.
Looking up, I once again saw Henry’s judgeful eyes.
Taking a deep breath, I explained, “I...just asked for the pack. As Alpha, Kylian’s role is the most important to sustain the safety of the pack especially when things are getting dangerous like now. I only said it to wake him up.”
“You’re really a scheming omega!” He sneered. “Stop pretending to care about the pack, alright? You’re just a selfish bitch! If you really cared about the pack, you wouldn’t have hurt Alpha Kylian like that.”
He glared at me and placed both his hands on the table, leaning closer to me a little bit. “When he got back yesterday, he was sent to the hospital because his stomach is bleeding! His wolf was almost out of control, and all members living in packhouse became uneasy because of it. Kylian never lost control of himself. When his father insulted, belittle, and punish him, he still able to control himself but you…”
He gritted his teeth and said no more.
Me, on the other hand, was stunned. I never expected that my words yesterday would cause a huge impact on Kylian.
But still… its or the better. Sooner or later, he would need to realized that everything already ended between us. So why delay it?
I looked at Henry without fear. “I made it clear to him that we are completely over. Isn’t that what you want as well?”
Henry was dumbfounded. Probably because he didn’t expect that Kylian would loss control merely because of that, and so did I.
He looked at me for a while, maybe seeing if I was lying or not. In the end, he sighed in defeat.
Looking at him, lost in his own thought, I just stayed there and waited.
After a while, he jolted back to reality and asked something I never thought I’d hear from him. “Please stay with Alpha Kylian!”
“What?!” I was so shocked that I uttered that without thinking.
It’s Henry! The one who always pressured me to stay away from Kylian. The one who always insulted and judge me for Kylian. And no… he’s asking me to stay with him? Did I hear it wrong?
I thought it was just my imagination.
But then, he repeated with more conviction, “Please! I beg you, stay by Alpha Kylian’s side!”
