Chapter 128

Della’s POV

Two days had passed.

From time to time, Kylian would be back at my door to give me flowers of various kinds. All of which were beautifully and wonderfully scented. It’s like he was pursuing me back again in a traditional manner.

However, I knew better and had learned my lessons. He just wanted to have sex with me again, but I always refused and put a distance between us like I should’ve done before.

I furrowed my eyebrows together. “This is more complicated than I thought.”

I was looking at and studying the marginal sea of Wakeland. Ralph was coming today so while waiting for him, I decided that it would be better for me to use my time wisely and start learning more about it. He's great at everything to do with the sea, maybe I can get some inspiration from him.

Before, my time was occupied with looking through the problems at Wakeland concerning the rogues, but things just got more intense. Hence, I thought there must be something wrong with the direction of my strategy.

Since Wakeland was near the sea, understanding its marginal sea would be a wise plan as it could provide us with better strategies that may bring us a greater advantage.

After I asked Troy, the security director, to provide me with information about Wakeland and its sea, he immediately sent me relevant data.

Indeed, that decision was a great one.

Through all the files and backgrounds, I learned that the rogue incidents in Wakeland weren’t as simple as they seemed to be. Drake, the Rogue King that Albert has been looking for, is not a simple villain either.

He didn’t start as a rogue before. He had been responsible for porters at the beach, and was even known in Wakeland for being kind and helpful.

But things suddenly changed two years ago-

He killed Mason, the son of Krendell, who was managing the Wakeland before.

“What could have happened?” I asked in no one particular as I read through the report. I couldn’t help but be curious, feeling that there was more to it.

It’s not just unusual. Why would an ordinary wolf with a great reputation and life suddenly go havoc? How could a kind man suddenly become a villain?

Why would he take a great risk in taking the throne of the territory’s land?

“I need to know more,” I said with conviction.

To solve the case in Wakeland, I need to be more informed. I must find out what exactly happened two years ago that drastically changed everything.

Albert had already sacrificed too much of his time and suffered a lot of grievances on her behalf just to handle the Wakeland.

As the princess, I need to do my part already and be responsible for my own tasks. After all, I’m not only the princess, but the heiress.

For whatever it costs, I must investigate this matter from top to bottom.

“Where should I start…” I was deep in my thoughts when a knock pulled me back into reality.

Diana opened the door and came in a man.

He was about 185 cm with black hair that was styled to be a bit messy but still looked clean. Staring at him, I found him quite handsome. He had these sharp notable features that could make women go crazy.

Unfortunately, his demeanor was kind of hiding it all away.

He was wearing a black reamed glass, hiding his beautiful hazelnut eyes. And his clothes were a bit of a baggy for him. With his stance and features, I could almost be sure that he had a great body but didn’t want to flaunt it.

His hand was holding the strap of his bag, almost fidgeting with nervousness. Cute!

By the way, he was looking at me in shock and admiration, I believe that he was still in start struck.

Giving him a soft and comforting smile, I stood up.

“P-princess, Della. It’s a pleasure to meet you. I’m Ralph, I heard you called for my assistance!” He looked so excited and nervous at the same time as he introduced himself.

I motioned my hand so that he could raise his head from bowing, and instructed, “You can call me Ms. Della. I hope you can help me conceal my real identity while I'm here.”

“Of course, Ms. Della. Anything for you!” he exclaimed and frantically nodded his head.

“I heard you need my expertise. You can ask me anything about machinery, and I’ll gladly share all my knowledge with you.”

Hearing his excitement and sincerity, a surge of guilt flooded my heart.

I admire his talent. It was true.

However, asking him to come was more of a grand plan to show Stella’s real face to Kylian. Seeing as he looked so kind and honest, I knew instantly that he’d get hurt and sad from knowing the truth.

‘But as painful as it is, it’s better than being in the dark,’ I thought, reminding myself of the countless times I felt like a fool.

Yes, probably, he’ll be in great pain. But time could heal that. It would be better for him to know that he was being cheated on rather than loving Stella deeper only to get hurt later on.

It’s better now than later.

Pushing the guilt and pain at the back of my heart, I let out a smile.

Motioning for him to sit, I asked, “Do you have any ideas for renovating Wakeland’s pier?”

Instantly, Diana served us refreshments and snacks.

“The pier? I…”

He was about to reply when the door was knocked open, and Luke furiously entered the room. “What did you say to Stella? You low-life bitch!”

Not even a second inside, and he’s already showering with curses.

“She’s been avoiding me recently. Tell me, what did you do?” he shouted further.

I stared at him, stunned.

What the hell was Luke doing here? And Why was he suddenly mentioning Stella? He’ll ruin everything I planned!

Frustration rose over me as I stood up and looked down at Ralph. His eyebrows were furrowed as well, looking shocked.

He blinked a couple of times before asking me, “Who is he? And… what happened to Stella?”

Ralph’s eyes were going back and forth between me and Luke.
