Della’s POV

Once I placed down the phone, I sat in front of my computer, ready to search for more information about how the ships work and how to navigate the sea.

I was scrolling through some articles when Diana went into the house with a transparent box. Inside was a vanilla cake, as I assumed, designed with a few edible pearls and florals. But what’s intriguing was there was a small cut on it.

Diana irritably slammed the box down on the table and scoffed.

I let go of the computer mouse, turned a bit from my chair, and looked up at her with interest. “Where did that come from?”

“Huh!” Diana finally looked at me. She’s like a volcano that’s about to explode.

One… Two… Three…

“That pretentious bitch of an omega gave us that cake!” And there she went, exploding, just as I expected and waited to see.

I remained still, listening to Diana as she narrated things while venting her frustration.

“The nerve she has! How thick-skinned can she be? After she seduces Sir. Albert abused and spread rumors about you. She got the nerve to send you a cake? A cake?”

Her eyes were opening wide, and her nostrils were flaring. She’s like a dragon roaring fire right now.

Letting out a small laugh, I tried to calm her down. Holding her hand, I pulled her to sit on the chair beside me and said, “Calm down. We can just throw it out. After all, it might be poisoned. Best not to trust her.”

Just when I thought that my words may calm her down, I think I’ve said something to make her flare even more.

She slammed her hand on the table. “That’s another thing! See that bite? That bitch took a fork and tasted it herself to prove that it’s not poisonous. What does she even want by giving us that?”

I shook my head. Since the beginning, Nancy had been a little weird, doing this and that, which was a bit concerning. I didn’t pay attention to it, but when she dared to put a drug in Albert’s drink, it was best not to eat or drink anything from her.

Patting Diana’s shoulder, I grabbed the cake with my other hand and gave it to her again to hold. “Now, calm down. She’s not worth the anger. Just throw this out.”

Diana looked at me for a while before sighing in defeat and calming down. “Alright.”

She picked up the box of cake and threw it in the trash bin. But she wasn’t done yet. She took the broom and flipped it. Using its handle, she stabbed the cake until it was ruined.

I laughed so hard at that. Instead of working, I ended up lying on my bed, browsing some new interesting topics on the internet, or watching a few videos to relax. Once bored, I would momentarily go outside, near the forest, admiring nature. Such activity also relaxed and nurtured my wolf.

A few days had passed. The days went by peacefully, just doing my daily routine.

Discreetly, I paid extra attention to the events at the Dark Moon Pack. Every morning, I’ll take time to jog or walk, enabling me to observe the transactions among the pack and between the Dark Moon Pack and Crimson Pack.

The first batch of medicines arrived ten days ago. Surprisingly, a new laboratory was being built near the border, and at a fast phase at that. Kylian indeed took great measures to check the products from the Crimson pack.

What’s more, I saw a couple of professional personnel who were experts in different aspects of pharma and medicines. They were all well-trained and knowledgeable that it would be impossible for substandard drugs to pass the border and enter the pack.

It couldn’t be denied. Kylian did a remarkable job.

However, he underestimated the Crimson Pack if he thought resolving this would be that easy.

Seeing that he blocked their plans, they would sure to take revenge. Crimson Pack were known to be vengeful and notorious. They weren’t lawful nor feared punishments. In fact, their actions and principles almost made them close to what a rogue would be.

A rumor about the fight between the Crimpson Pack and a small pack from the north was circulating around a few years ago. Only those in the small town of the north were aware of it.

The rumored pack declined the offer of Crimson Pack and blocked their paths in distributing more drugs to their members. Crimson Pack went mad. As revenge, they lured some of the young werewolves from the pack and used them as bait to lure the others into taking their addictive drugs.

Once they're addicted to it, they’ll free them, making the entire pack vulnerable.

It was a horrible thing. When Troy gave me that report, I was devastated. What did they want? To end our species? Or was it just plain greed for power and money? I guess Time will tell.

I touched my pocket where my phone was, hoping it would ring each day and notify me of Troy’s new report. Could I wait for Troy to get evidence about Luke taking bribes as soon as possible?

Only then could we overturn the voting result?

A knock on the door brought me back to reality.

Standing from my seat in front of the computer, I walked toward the door. Diana was outside buying ingredients for lunch, so I was alone.

Opening the door, I was almost struck back.

In front of me stood a man who was looking at the floor, and slowly looked up as I opened the door.

He was holding a bouquet of flowers with baby breaths, tulips, and roses that were well arranged together. But more than that, what took my breath away was those deep eyes of him, seemingly staring down at my soul.

Oh, and that sweet smile showing his teeth… almost made my legs go weak.

Kylian’s standing with his weight leaning on his left side. He looked so damn confident and shy at the same time as he raised one of his hands and nervously held his nape, greeting, “Hi, Della.”

After not seeing him for many days, his refreshing and charming look made my stoned heart beat so fast again.

‘Calm down, Della! What are you thinking?’ I scolded myself and patted my chest in my mind, trying to calm my wild heart.

‘Don’t swoon over him! You're divorcing him, remember? A clean break is what you want with him and not an on-and-off flame!’

Crossing my arms over my chest and leaning my side on the door frame, I scoffed, “Why are you here?”

I narrowed my eyes, seeing how he tightened his hold on the bouquet, before clearing his throat, standing more upright, and holding his head high. “Ralph will be coming this afternoon.”

He was looking at my eyes but his eyes would give quick glance at my lips before looking back at my eyes. What a flirt! Don’t swoon, Della!

‘Remember… Divorce! Divorce! You’ll divorce him!’

Since I already knew about it, there wasn’t a sense of surprise in me anymore.

“Here, take this. I especially prepared it for you.” He gave me the flowers which I acted lazily to accept.

Leaning my head on the door frame out of ‘boredom’, I asked, “Anything else?”

“I’ll have someone escort him here once he arrives. Since he’s an omega valued at the kingdom, inviting him to another pack is very hard. But since you need him, I tried my best. I’m glad it went well!”

He smiled even brighter, as a sense of pride enveloped him.

I wanted to scoff.

Ralph came out of his own decision, and not because of Kylian’s interference. Still, he had to take the credit for it.

But, I decided not to expose him. Smiling, I took the flowers closer to my nose and smelled it. It had a beautiful scent. It was sweet and relaxing at the same time.

Raising the flowers a bit, I said, “Thank you… For this and for ‘inviting’ Ralph.”

“Anything for you.” He walked backward until he was on the porch’s post railing. He leaned on it.

As if remembering something, his eyebrows furrowed together. “You what? Something’s strange.”

“What is?”

“Stella had been coming to me daily, bothering me about Ralph’s arrival. It’s as if Ralph was a ticking bomb, which she didn’t want to come.”

Hearing that, I was thrown in a good mood.

An urge to laugh came to me. If Kylian hadn’t been here, I would have shown my joy.

Stella probably realized that I wouldn’t change my mind, so she went to bother Kylian instead.. It's a stupid act, she’s only making herself more suspicious.

Unfortunately for her, it’s too late. Ralph’s already coming.

“But…”  Kylian’s face showed a hint of panic as his expression turned serious.

He approached me and held my hand, looking deep into my eyes, showing his sincerity, “I don’t care about Setlla. Even if she threatens me with the Dark Moon Pack and Lock Heart Pack bond, I won’t change my mind for her.”

He took a step closer, touching our bodies almost and our faces only two inches apart.

With his breath fanning my lips, he  whispered in a feathery gentleness, “Because nothing and no one is more important than you.”

My heart warmth at that statement considering knowing how important the agreement between the Dark Moon Pack and Lock Heart Pack.

Adding the fact that he was so close to me, warming my cold heart, it took every last bit of ounce in me not to be swayed. Although, my heart was hard to control as it almost popped out from my chest with its fast, strong, and loud heartbeat.

His words and look right now remind me of the first time I met him.

He looked so dashing with his gray hoodie paired with shorts and some sneakers. He had that silly smile plastered on his face as he carried himself with confidence and a cute hint of arrogance. Nonetheless, he’s filled with sincerity… like he looks right now.

Raising his hand, he used his index finger to slide my loose hair toward the back of my head, letting his fingers touch my face in the process. He did that all while still staring at me.

Fuck! Was he trying to melt me?

Leaning closer, his lips almost touching my ears with his cheek just a few centimeters away from mine. He whispered, “Can you reward me?”

With shallow breaths and wide eyes, I was finally able to push him in shock, but it only separated us a few inches. “What reward?!”

As soon as that came out from my lips, I felt his arm snaked around my waist and his other hand pulling my nape close to him. In an instant, his lips touched mine.
