Chapter 118

I sat at the booth designated for me.
The chair was indeed consistent with Luna's identity. Its backrest was high, inlaid with pearls, and was set right next to the Alpha’s booth.
In the past, I was so longed to sit in this chair, sit next to Kylian, and feel what it would be like to truly be Kylina's wife.
But now, even though I am sitting here, I no longer have any expectations in my heart.
I looked back at Kylian, who was sitting upright next to me. He had an almost perfect profile, and he was the man I had been crazy about.
But the love wave in my heart has subsided.
I took a deep breath and reminded myself of why I came here today-
For Dark Moon Pack.
“Good day, werewolves!” The host on the stage spoke to start. He was recruited from far packs to ensure voting fairness.
With his starting words, everyone remained silent and placed the attention toward him.
“I am Dominus Archilles, and I’ll host and facilitate the Dark Moon Pack’s voting meeting for supplier.”
I leaned back on the seat and listened further.
“For the past few weeks, series of screening had been made for today’s meeting.” He clicked a small button he was holding and a presentation appeared, showing a report of suppliers’ update yearly.
“And currently, we have two candidates for the position, which were the Silver Bow Pack and Crimson Pack.”
He changed the slide, showing both pack’s emblem.
“The Silver Bow Pack specialized in herbal medicine and had been known to provide stable supply, was highly recognized by Alpha Kylian. On the other hand, the Crimson Pack was recommended by your pack’s respectable former Alpha-Alpha Luke.”
He said as he bowed to Kylian and Luke to show his respect.
Then Dominus flicked his finger and two of his men came in to hand out ballots and pen while the other lifted the cloth covering the ballot box.
“Thank you,” he said to those two as they left.
There was already a whisper of discussion in the crowd. I gulped in nervous and clenched my fists.
After a short pause, Dominus continued, “In front of you are the ballots. Kindly write the name of your chosen supplier within five minutes. Afterwards, you can drop your votes in the box.”
He raised both his hands as a signal, saying, “The voting may begin.”
“Wait!” I announced before everyone could write anything.
Everyone looked at me with judgemental eyes. I took a deep breath and stood up.
“What the hell are you doing?” Luke growled at me, his eyes filled with disbelief and anger.
I looked at him with calm eyes before shifting my eyes to everyone.
It's time to finish what I came here for today.
I cleared my throat and spoke in Luna's voice, “According to pack low, committee members are obliged to fully understand all the information about the candidate supplies before making a decision. With that being said, I’d like to introduce further things about the two packs to everyone with further details.”
I said while ensuring to look directly at everyone’s eyes. My voice echoed in the Hall.
Henry, who was standing at the side, immediately went closer to me and whispered in a furious tone.
“Are you crazy? No one done this for several years! Stop making things complicated. Everyone just votes in and puts it in the ballots, ending the vote. Why the hell are you trying to break rules?”
The anxiousness in his voice was overflowing.
After noticing the determination in my expression, Henry looked at Kylian as if asking for support.
I followed Henry’s gaze and looked at Kylian’s direction. He was also looking at me, like all members in the Hall.
But his eyes bare no judgement. Rather, I saw admiration and support. My heart skipped a beat.
Kylian gave me a gentle smile and shifted his eyes toward Henry who was still standing beside me with tension. He patted Henry’s shoulder, and nodded as if to say that he had nothing to worry about.
Then, he looked deep into me, saying, “I believe you with everything in me. You can do it, Della.”
I stared at him for a long time, looking if I could see any hint of regret or lies, but I didn’t. He seemed so… genuine.
Henry shrugged and got off my way with pursed lips. “You’ll definitely regret it, Alpha.”
I heard Henry loud and clear, but at this moment, Kylian’s words already filled me.
I stepped down from my seat and climbed to the central stage one step after another. With every step I took, I could hear the buzz around me.
“How rude can she be? Who is she anyway?”
“An overrated Luna. She’s a mere lowly omega.”
“Huh! What does she know then?’
“Why is she even here? This ignorant bitch disrupted the rhythm of our voting!”
“She shouldn’t be. I heard she wanted a divorce. She’s just a humiliation to Alpha Kylian.”
Someone laughed, saying, “Let her be, I want to see how she’ll make a joke out of herself. For a lowly omega, she sure is arrogant.”
I bit the inside of my cheek and clenched my hands into a fist. I turned around and looked at them, meeting their judgemental eyes.
Omega… How long would that title be used against me.
But that’s not their faults. They didn't know I’m the heiress of the Kingdom. If it weren't for the future of Dark Moon, I would never be here to bear these insults.
This is all for them, my members.
Luke's seat was right across from me. He laughed out loud, echoing into the entire venue and grabbing everyone’s attention.
He looked at me with disdain, his chin held high. “Do you really think you have a say here? You should even be grateful that I allowed you to be in here.”
“Don’t you have any decency left to be discreet and sit docile rather than trying to seize this opportunity to make something of yourself? Let me tell you, you’ll only make a fool out of yourself!”
I shut off at that.
Everyone was pointing finger at me and laughing before I could even say anything significant. No, I haven’t even started anything yet, and there they were, trying to make me look like I was the fool one.
Suddenly, it felt like cat cut my tongue.
All I wanted was to spoke up on behalf of the Silver Bow Pack, and try my best to get at least half of the committees’ vote on their side.
Unfortunately, more than half of the people on the committee had something to do with Luke. They had a strong bond with Luke as he was the former alpha. So they probably voted for the Crimson Pack just because of Luke.
Once the Crimson Pack take charge of the medication supply, they would surely add Red Azaleas that would instantly make the pack members addicted into it. What I fear more was the safety of the pups.
Surely, it would bring a devastating blow in the pack.
Suffering and death would fill the pack. Not to mention the countless misery they would face from the increase need of the addictive drugs, to prevent the pack members from going totally crazy.
But at present, I have no evidence that Luke accepted bribes, so I could only tell the elders the true face of the Crimson Pack to the best of my ability. I could only put hope in their conscience and and prey it could let them make the right choice.
All eyes were on me. And my heart was beating fast. Subconsciously, I looked at Kylian, who was staring at me with his gentle eyes.
"You can do it, Della." That’s what he just said.
"Yes, I can do it." I told myself.
With my head held high, I stood at the center with Dominus, and grabbed my phone out of my pocket.
I typed a bit on it, and in a few seconds, everyone’s phone pinged with notification.
