Chapter 106

“Oh, heaven…” I said blissfully as I opened my eyes.
It had been several days since the fight I had with the omegas, and I could proudly say that it was all worth it.
For all those days until now, Diana and I have been living in great peace. Nancy nor anyone of the omegas didn’t dare to disturb us anymore with anything.
In fact, they would keep their distance. It was almost paradise. Having such peace in this pack was probably the greatest gift I could get from them.
I took my pretty time quite well and didn’t stand up yet. I just enjoyed the comfort of my bed.
After a few minutes, a knock on the door came in.
Knowing that it would be no one but Diana, I just hummed in reply to let her in.
“Ms. Della, I made breakfast for you. It’ll be good for your health,” she excitedly said as she set up a portable table in front of me.
She placed a plate of veggie scramble eggs, a glass of milk, and a saucer of sliced oranges.
Sitting up, I smiled. “Thank you.”
I started eating the eggs and was about to drink when I suddenly stopped. I stared at it for a while as a sadness filled my eyes.
Grabbing the glass, I swallowed a knot formed in my throat as I tried to force myself to drink it.
Probably not being discreet enough, Diana saw through me. “Is something wrong, Ms. Della?”
Worry filled her eyes as she sat beside me.
I frown. I knew how much effort she was putting on serving me, which was why I didn’t want to disappoint her.
However, I just couldn’t withstand it anymore.
Shifting my gaze from the floor to Diana, I said, “I want some coffee…”
Using my puppy eyes, I continued, “Please? It’s been days and… I just really want it.”
Diana immediately stood up, and hope rose upon me, thinking that she’ll give in to me. However, when she placed her hands on her hips, I instantly knew I was wrong.
Shaking her head, she firmly said, “No, you can’t have that. It’s bad for you and the pup.”
I raised my right hand’s index finger and clasped my left hand around my close fingers, begging, “Please? Just this once.”
“You’ll have to kill me first. I won’t give you something that will be bad for you. I’ll rather die,” she uttered with determination.
“Please finish this,” she added, pushing the food in front of me. Afterwards, she turned around and left, saying that she’ll be back later.
I could only sigh. I really do appreciate all her work so the least I could do was follow her advice despite the dismay I was feeling. After all, I knew that it’s for my sake.
Once finished with the meal, and after Diana took the dishes away, I was once again left alone.
As was my usual routine the past few days, I leaned my back on the headboard with my legs spread on the bed. Using my phone, I opened my email. For the past few days, I’ve been helping in the matters at Wakeland.
Through email or text messages, Albert and I communicate.
With Albert in there, I had nothing to worry about. We’ll mostly just make updates with each other because he’s handling things so well. Sometimes, I’ll also leave some comments and suggestions that should be done.
Just in time, I got another email. It’s from Albert.
Sender: Albert
Subject: Wakeland Update
Hi, Della. How’s things going? Currently, we are facing some problems here in Wakeland, but it’s nothing I couldn’t handle. The rogues are getting better at making sneak attacks, and their leader isn’t one to be taken lightly either. It’s Drake, remember him? The one we talked about before?
I already issued a wanted notice about him with his picture on the poster, and it’s benign spread in a large perimeter. I attached the picture in this email for you to see.
Regards,
Albert
I clicked on the attached JPEG file, and narrowed my eyes.
It’s the first time I saw his picture. With all honesty, I couldn’t deny the fact that he’s handsome, only if his heart would be as good, then everything would have been better.
He had a square shaped face, sharp jaws, thick eyebrows, and a tall nose. His eyes were so captivating with its color of light hazel. But what’s significant about his appearance besides his handsomeness was that scar on his forehead.
It was hidden under the small hairs spread on the side of his forehead due to his messy kind of hair style. Though it was hidden, I could see the small end of his scar.
He looked like a standard baddy, and I couldn’t help but became worried.
Would being wanted anger him further and lead to more serious consequences?
‘I need to talk to Albert.’
I sat up properly, and scrolled through my phonebook.
After finding Albert’s contact, I dialed it. It rang, but no one answered.
I frowned and did it again, but I still got the same result.
My eyebrows furrowed in confusion as I looked at the screen of my phone with worry and disbelief.
Albert always answered my calls. If ever he couldn’t he would send me a text of notice that he couldn’t answer it as soon as the dial tone ends.
It was weird.
Suddenly, what happened the past few days flushed into my mind.
Albert and I would always contact each other via email or text, but never a call.
Each time, I’ll get a reply. He always updated me of the situation and assured me how everything was going well, but he would be busy at the same time.
He would even add photos for proof.
It made everything look like an elaborate lie.
Couldn’t overlook the worry I was feeling, I dialed Troy’s number. He’s the head of security of the Kingdom so he’s the one who accompanied Albert on Wakeland along with other warriors.
Thanks to the Moon Goddess, he answered quickly.
“Princess,” he greeted.
“Greetings. How’s everything in there?” I asked.
I heard a sigh, before he replied, “Currently, the Wakeland is in a very serious situation, Princess. Drake is a rogue and a leader we cannot underestimate. But thanks to Sir. Albert’s skill and capablity, the crisis here has been brought under control.”
I could hear the admiration in his voice. Being the head of the kingdom’s security, that would be a great honor.
Smiling, I replied with pride, “I never doubted him.”
More than that, I now realized how serious the situation in Wakeland was after hearing Toy’s words.
I wanted to ask about Albert, but I suddenly remember Albert’s words.
“Trust me..”
I trust him, and believe in his abilities without any doubts so I believe he could handle it as he said.
I calmed down and said goodbye to Troy.
After I hung up the phone, the door opened again, and came Diana with a basket full of clothes.
“Ms. Della, it’s weird. Three of your clothes were missing.” She placed the basket in front of me so I could look into it.
Going through all the clothes, I found that all the missing clothes were all those which Kylian had given me.
Those were designer clothes made with the best fabrics that were smooth to skin, and designed by famous fashion designers.
The colors were also vibrant and complementing to my skin tone. I could say that it was well thought of when given to me.
Remembering those clothes, fragments of my past happy memories with Kylian back when Flora was still not in our lives flushed before me.
We were so happy back then, like a real couple who would be admired by many. But then again, changes were inevitable.
With those memories intact in those clothes, I couldn't help but feel a bit sad, but I could only sigh.
After all, I think that would be for the best. I should’ve thrown all of it away anyway since we’ll get divorce soon.
“Forget it,” I told Diana and gave the basket back.
“But…”
I shrugged. “It’s fine. Maybe one of the omegas took a liking to it and took it.”
“But those are expensive!” she reasoned out. “We need to–”
Before she could finish her words, the door was forced open, making both of us gasped in surprise.
A warrior strode in. He was probably the one who wicked the door open.
He fiercely looked at me. “Sir. Luke wanted to see you.”
My heart skipped a bit as nervousness rose in me.
What could Luke possibly want now? I wondered.
When the warrior saw that I was still frozen on my feet, he let out an impatient sigh and gave me a push.
“Hurry up! What are you waiting for?”
