Chapter 98

Della’s POV

Henry looked at the door. Once Diana was out of sight, he looked back at me with judgemental eyes.

“Who’s pup are you carrying?” he angrily asked—interrogated even.

I narrowed my eyes at him as anger built up in every inch of me.

How dare he ask such a question?

Just like that, I kept looking at him, saying nothing.

Triggered by my silence, he shoots up. He raised his arm and pointed at me as he demanded in a loud and pursed tone, “Tell me the truth, Della! Who’s pup is that, huh? Because I know it’s not Alpha Kylian’s…”

He let out a smug laugh, and sarcastically asked, “Do you even know who the father is?”

That was way out of line.

My body started to shake and my chest violently rose and fell as I tried to control my wolf and the anger in me, or else he’d be dying at my hands.

With burning eyes, I glared at him. “What exactly do you mean by that, Henry?”

He smirked with immense anger. “You’re just like Flora! Both of you are fucking sluts, who know nothing but to seduce men! For all I know, that can be Prince Jackson’s or Albert’s!”

I wanted to laugh at that.

Yeah, right! For all he knew! But then again, what was there he knew about me anyway? Not even Kylian knows me enough.

Jackson was my brother while Albert was my friend. They were really just all fools who would assume the worst out of me without basis and proper investigation. Not even one of them bothered to ask me about it without malice.

Nonetheless, I didn’t care enough to explain anything. I have no obligation to explain my puppy to such an arrogant person.

What caught my attention though was about Flora. It was the first time I heard Henry directly target her with such words. He had always been gentle to her. I mean, almost all men are gentle with her.

I wonder why he would say something like that. Did they have any news about Flora?

Sluts? Did she do something?

I frowned. Looking at Henry, I nonchalantly answered him, “That’s nothing for you to worry about. Whoever the father of my pup is, you and Kylian had nothing to do with it.”

Not telling anything to Henry was my only way to ensure that Kylian would know nothing about my pregnancy. Or at least, that’s what I was hoping for.

Henry and Kylian had a great bond with each other. Without proper information and certainty, I knew that Henry would unlikely tell Kylian that I was pregnant. After all, he wouldn’t like to see Kylian hurt.

But that’s all there was… hope. A hope that he wouldn’t tell. A hope that things would go as I presumed. I hoped that no other person would know about my pregnancy until Kylian and I became officially divorced.

Henry stared at me for a while. Then his eyes went big a little bit before it came back to normal.

He must have been surprised.

By his initial reaction, he probably thought that I’d use my pregnancy to keep Kylian with me, and that’s why he came.

Well, he thought wrong. Because right now, I wouldn't want anything more but to be divorced from Kylian and end our relationship once and for all.

After thinking for a while, he said, “That would be good. For the sake of the moon goddess, if you need anything, you can ask me for help.”

I smiled and shook my head. “No, thanks. I think I can manage by myself just fine.”

Henry nodded. He was about to leave when I called out, “Henry…”

“Yes?” he asked.

I remembered how Kylian looked earlier. He looked dejected and hurt… It might be a martyr thing to feel, but I still worry for him.

“Take care of Kylian.”

Hearing that, Henry’s demeanor immediately became sharper. Angrily, he said, “That’s none of your business anymore.”

With that, he left. Leaving me once again, alone in my room.

As soon as he left, a series of notifications rang on my phone. With furrowed eyebrows, I went near the bedside table when my phone was and saw numerous notifications.

Opening it, I saw an official announcement made by the Dark Moon Pack on the interpack platform.

“Flora, the fated mate of Alpha Kylian’s of Dark Moon Pack was no longer part of our pack. This announcement was given to clarify that any business and actions created by Ms. Flora were done solely by herself, and had no connections with our pack.”

I became even more confused. First, Henry mentioned Flora with anger. Now, the pack gave out an official announcement.

Why now? Flora had been kicked out of the pack for so long already. Why did they only announced it now?

Swiping the screen, I saw various comments from different packs.

“I heard about her. Isn’t she kind? Why was she kicked out?”

“Oh my goddess! What happened?”

“She must have been kicked out because Alpha Kylian already has another Luna!”

“Did she do something wrong?”

“Alpha Kylian chose that omega she-wolf to be the Luna instead of his fated mate. Can you believe that? What a bastard.”

“Maybe she was kicked out because she did something bad! After all, she’s his fated mate. He wouldn’t risk the bond breakage just like that, would he?”

More comments were on there. It was only posted minutes ago, but there were already hundreds of comments. The news escalated everywhere so fast.

I was in the middle of thinking and looking at the news when a knock came in.

Diana peeked from the door before opening it and walking inside. “Ms. Della, you need to rest and sleep early. Please, for the sake of your pup.”

She’s right. I smiled at her and thanked her for reminding me.

Nodding, I placed my phone back on the bedside table and lay on the bed.

Diana came closer, turned off the lamp, and helped me with my blanket to tuck me in.

Afterward, she went to the door and turned off the lights. Just before closing the door, she said, “Goodnight, Ms. Della.”

“Goodnight,  Diana.”

Just before I drifted to sleep, the last thought came over me, ‘What on earth happened to Flora?’
