Della’s POV

The next day morning, Fae said goodbye to me at the gate of Dark Moon.

“Will you be really okay here? It’s another month of suffering,” Fae said.

She only came here to send new things and the new maid to me, and it’s time for her to leave.

I gave her a smile, and joked, “Oh, don’t be so dramatic. You talk as if you’re leaving me in hell itself.”

“Aren’t I?” She rolled her eyes, making me laugh even more.

She’s a really good friend, just could be so dramatic sometimes.

Fae walked forward and engulfed me in a warm embrace. “Don’t worry, I’ll tell Jackson about it, and try my best to have him accept your decision.”

“You’re really the best,” I whispered, embracing her tighter.

If there’s one person whom I knew to always get my back, it would be her.

“Take care, okay?” I told her as I waved my hand after she entered the car that fetched her.

Once the car she was in was fully out of my sight, I turned back around.

When I arrived at the guest house, I saw Albert sitting on the sofa in the living room.

As soon as he saw me walk in, he stood up. Only then did I see his bags on the side.

His things were already packed.

Wasn't what he said yesterday out of anger?

I questionably looked at him. “You’re really leaving?”

He nodded. “Yes, I’ll leave the Dark Moon Pack.”

“Why? So soon? Are you alright already? Can you walk–” I asked one after another with worry, but he interjected.

“Remember Drake?” he asked.

I nodded. “Yes, the rogue leader that’s causing chaos in Wakeland.”

“Yes, he and his rogue pack are now attacking violently and more and more frequently. I need to go to Wakeland as fast as possible to suppress further damage. Besides, I guess you don't need me anymore now.”

My eyes widened. I thought there was something in his words.

“What do you mean? I always need you. And if that’s the case, Wakeland is in a dangerous situation now,” I stated.

Considering the situation, it just got more dangerous now. Albert was the alpha heir of their pack, having him go there to suppress such chaos would be a huge risk and not something he should take.

“Don’t go. Just send more men. You’re the heir of your pack. You can’t just–”

He stopped my words, “No, I must do it. I need to go.”

“But…”

Albert strided toward me. His eyes were filled with determination as if nothing more in this world could make him change his mind.

“Please, Della. Give me your order as the princess of the Lycan Kingdom. I swear, I will solve this issue in three months.”

I.. What should I do?

What if he got injured in that fight… or worse? I wouldn’t be able to handle that.

Suddenly, I was reminded of what happened earlier, and my conversation with Fae. I seemed to understand the hidden meaning of his words.

“Oh no...Albert,” I intently looked at him. “Tell me the truth, are you leaving and risking going to the Wakeland because of the prophecy you heard me and Fae are talking about?”

Was Fae right? Did he really me more than a friend I thought we were?

If that’s not the case, then I was seeing no other reason why he would go to Wakeland and risk his life. He must not go there at all because by the sound of it, Drake was a dangerous man and shouldn’t be taken easily.

“Do you love me?” I asked him, staring into his eyes, my chest rising and falling with my nervous breathing.

I was kind of afraid to hear his answer. What if he says yes?

However, Albert smirked, and shook his head in denial. “No, it’s not about that. Not at all.”

“Then why? Why risk yourself?” I asked again, with a lace of doubt.

I wouldn’t be able to handle it if he were to get hurt because of me.

I have to know the reason.

“Della, you are a good friend of mine. I always wished that you would meet your fated mate who would give you a happy life that you deserve…” he added, answering my question, “And I, will always be your friend and advisor. Whenever you need me, I'll be there.”

Seeing the worry in my eyes, he continued, “So it’s my job to slove the problem. You hired me, remember? You have nothing to be worried about, Della. I’ll make sure that I will be safe. What do you think? Maybe I’ll meet my fated mate there as well.”

He let out a smile just like before. I finally felt relieved.

I punched him in the shoulder and smiled as well. "You must protect yourself well. Don't make me have to find a new advisor again."

Surprised, Albert suddenly took a step forward, held my head, and kissed my forehead. It was just a brief moment and could even be perceived as a friendly gesture. But I was a little stunned.

“See you…”

That’s all he said before he grabbed his bags and walked out of the door without a second glance at me.

I couldn’t help but feel helpless while looking at his retreating back. No matter what I said, I knew that he would still go to Wakeland.

Worry filled my heart as guilt overwhelmed me at the same time.

Once Albert’s figure disappeared from my sight, I became even more determined.

Too many people had been hurt and too many things had been left unattended.

“I need that divorce to happen as soon as possible,” I determinedly said.

Once Kylian signs the divorce paper, I would follow Albert to Wakeland and help him. After all, it was my responsibility to begin with and not his.

I should be the one carrying all that burden on my shoulder.

After closing the door, sleepiness suddenly came over me.

Seeing Fae and Albert both leave at the same time and not to mention the rollercoaster ride-like happening these past few days, my body finally felt my exhaustion.

I returned to my room, and minutes later, I heard a knock.

“Come in.”

Diana came inside with a tray filled with meals.

She placed the tray on the bedside table and a smile instantly formed on my lips.

She prepared my favorite dishes including fried chicken and many more. I was about to hold one when I suddenly felt nauseated.

Looking away from the food, I sadly looked at Diana and said, “I feel sleepy. I want to sleep. Maybe later, I’ll eat.”

“But, Ms. Della, you have only been awake for a short time. You already slept for so long. Are you going to sleep again?” She asked with worry.

I could hear her, but my eyelids already felt so heavy. I tried to keep my eyes open to listen to her, but terribly failed.

When I woke up again, I saw Diana at the bedside table, frowning in concern.

“Ms. Della, are you okay?” she asked.

I nodded. “How long was I asleep?”

“A few hours.”

I nodded and sat down. I was about to leave the room when Diana hesitantly asked me, “Ms. Della. Why don’t you try this?”

I turned to look at her and what I saw her handing over me surprised me. It was a pregnancy stick…
