Chapter 63

2120words
(Kylian's POV)

"What the fuck was that?" I exasperatedly shouted as I pushed Stella's hand away from my arms.

I was clenching my jaws and menacingly glaring at her. My chest was also moving fast as my breathing became fast and shallow.

I couldn't believe that she kissed me! How dare she?

"I was just…" she tried to speak, but my sight had long turned bloody red.

All my patience was thrown out of the window as of this moment.

She stepped forward, attempting to touch and calm me down, but that angered me even more.

Without remorse or consideration that she was a woman, I pushed her on the ground with such great force that I heard her whimpering as soon as the impact hit her.

"And that dress! How dare you wear the same one as I bought for Della? Why the hell did you kiss me? You're a manipulating bitch!" I pointed at her nose as I leaned down, devouring her with the power radiating in me.

I am, after all, an Alpha. If she's playing a game, I'm not one to be messed with.

She was shivering as she cowered back from me, but after what she did, I found no reason to be merciful to her.

"I, Kylian Jarvis, banned you from Dark Moon Pack," I officially stated before adding, "You're no longer welcome in here. Leave!"

"Wait…"

"Leave before I kill you!" At this point, I was already shaking. My wolf was as angry as I am right now. If a war wouldn't break loose if I were to hurt the daughter of the Lock Heart Pack's alpha, I probably wouldn't restrain myself.

After saying that, I turned and attempted to leave.

Before I could do so, I felt her holding tightly in my wrists.

"I… I have my fated mate…" her voice quivered, but it was her words that made me halt.

"I know that it will hurt him, but I still kissed you anyway. I did it so I can help you get Della back. I meant no other things," she explained as I felt her stand up while still holding onto me.

I could hear a hint of pain in her voice.

Walking around me, she looked deeply into my eyes. Her eyes were shining with the glint of tears she was probably holding back.

I felt her hand on my arm as she gently spoke to me, "It's all for you so you can get her back. I did it, so she'll be crazy jealous. Only when she feels that will her competitiveness and possessiveness arise. When that happens, she'll get back to you."

Hearing her explanation while looking into her eyes, which seemed filled with sincerity, I gradually calmed down.

Once my breathing eased, I let out a sigh. I looked at her and said, "Alright, I understand."

"You can stay. But right now, I have to go and explain it to Della. I can't let her misunderstand me again."

I didn't want Della to misunderstand me that much. It might push her further from me.

Since I wasn’t asking for permission from her or anything, I immediately turned away to leave.

“Wait!” She held onto my wrist again.

Fine, I could forgive her, seeing as her reason made sense, but it didn’t change the fact that I was still irritated by what happened.

“What is it again this time?”

Instead of answering me with her words, I saw her pull out a document from her bag and handed it over to me with a raised eyebrow as if to say that I should look at it for myself.

Confused and curious, I accepted it and opened the document envelope. I read the front page of the document that happened to be an agreement contract, “Lock Heart Pack and Dark Moon Pack Aided Alliance Agreement.”

“What is this about?” I asked her.

“That’s the agreement which my father and yours have talked about. My Dad asked me to bring that here so you can sign it officially,” she answered.

“I support you and keep helping you in getting Della back since I got here, but that agreement is something my Dad wants me to do here. You should sign it tonight,” she added.

Opening the document, I read more about it. Apparently, it was a more detailed treaty. Before, our packs were just allies by nature as our families were friends and stood side by side with each other in every fight we faced, but now, it’s more official and weight-bearing.

My eyebrows furrowed with a mix of irritation. “This…”

As if seeing the changes in my emotion, Stella spoke, “My father told me that he and your father had talked about this agreement beforehand. All that’s left is for you to sign it.”

Every turn of the page that I do, the more skeptical I become.

In the agreement, we were to train together and help each other in many aspects, but that would also mean that we’d have to share some of our secret strategies and training routines.

It was not something I could just sign because someone said so.

Giving back the document to Stella, I shook my head. “I won’t sign that. At least not without overseeing it properly. Right now, I have better things to do. I still have to see…”

I was about to tell her that I needed to see Della when the phone in my pocket rang violently.

Taking it, I saw my father’s name on the screen.

“Hello, Dad. Why…” I wasn’t even able to finish my words when my father already intervened.

“You are an alpha now…”

I close my eyes in an attempt to calm myself down. There he goes again.

“Of course I know, Dad,” I intervened with concealed irritation.

“Good! Then act like one! As an alpha, pack affairs always go first. This agreement with Lock Heart Pack is very important. You must sign it tonight,” he ordered as if forgetting that I’m the alpha now and not him.

He was always like that… He never changed. Since I was a youngster, my father had always been strict with me. He expected too much and set a high standard for an alpha – for me ... .A standard I couldn’t seem to reach until now. A standard that caused me to be beaten upon at every mistake and stubbornness.

I looked in the direction where Della’s room was located, and my heart throbbed with anxiousness.

I tightly held on my phone, almost crushing it between my hands.

‘She’s probably crying now,’ I thought to myself. The image of her crying in pain and dwelling in misery made my heart bleed. I wanted to comfort her… but how? I felt so hopeless.

“Kylian…” I heard Stella call out to me.

Her call pulled me out of a daze, and that's when I heard my father’s voice over the phone again. “If you fail to sign it tonight, then be careful. The life of your little bitch of an omega might be jeopardized!” With that, he hung up the phone. Successfully pulling me out of hesitation.

I was shaking so badly.

How dare he threaten me with Della’s life?!

Fuck!

I still remember how angry he got when he found out that Della rejected me. He was that controlling. He trained me to be a warrior… No, more like a machine. He wanted me to be the best alpha there was, to the point that he reared me to be emotionless.

I looked at Stella to see no surprise or confusion in her eyes.

Damn her! Obviously, she planned this! She didn’t want me to go to Della and comfort her, much less tell her everything!

I know that she was doing all this to help me, but that didn’t mean that I couldn’t get irritated with her for what she was doing.

Menacingly looking at her, I harshly grabbed the document I gave back to her and walked off.

If she’s the only one at my oath, I would’ve run to Della minutes ago. But no… My Dad used Della as a threat, and I knew that it wasn’t anywhere empty.

I heard Stella’s footsteps as she hurriedly ran after me.

“Let’s go! The sooner this ends, the better.”

Time passed by, and before we knew it, beams of sun rays were already shining through the French windows of the conference room we were in.

I stood up from his chair and stretched up. I raised my arms over my head and bent from side to side, letting my body relax from the long sitting position. My bones cracked in relaxation, and relief filled my stiff muscles.

After many revisions and long negotiations about the terms of the agreement, Stella and I were finally able to finish and sign the papers. But that took us until dawn.

“Finally!” I said with rejoicing and relief.

“Here it is. Take it,” I told Stella while handling her papers.

After accepting it, she said, “Thanks.”

Though I pushed hard to keep the negotiation fast, it still took far too long than I imagined.

As smart as she seemed, Stella seemed to be uncharacteristically naïve and stupid last night that it took us forever to discuss things smoothly.

“Hey, about…” Stella took a step closer to me with an innocent face. I knew what she was doing. She wanted to stop me, but that won’t happen anymore.

“Bye,” I hastily said, giving her no time to react or stop me.

I turned around and left the room in a hurry, going straight to where Della was staying.

Standing outside of her room, I stayed downstairs on her porch, which was just a few steps from the door.

“Della! This is me, Kylian. Are you awake? Please listen to me. Let me explain,” I started, trying to feel her presence.

I held onto the railing of the stairs and tiptoed, trying to take a glimpse inside the room to see if she was just on the other side of the room. But it was in vain.

Taking a deep breath, I quickly pulled my phone from my pocket and quickly dialed her number with shaking hands. It took a few rings before she answered.

“Thank you for answering.” I heaved a sigh of relief.

“Are you listening?” I asked, but she didn’t reply. Fortunately, I could hear her faint breathing. That’s enough for me.

“I know you’re in there. Look, if you don’t want to talk, just listen to me,” I said.

After a pause, I added, “Stella and I… It’s not what you think it is…”

“Shit…” I couldn’t help but curse while I stared at my phone with a black screen. She hung up on me even before I could explain properly.

Dejectedly, I sat down on the stairs and looked away from her place.

Running my hands over my hair, I couldn’t help but let out a sigh of frustration.

“Della… Can’t you even find time to listen to me?” I whispered.

I felt agitated and aggrieved by how she could easily hang up on me whenever she was angry. She never let me explain, nor did she take the time to listen to my side of the story.

Since she wouldn’t listen to me, wouldn’t answer my calls, and definitely wouldn’t open the door for me, then I would just have to wait out here until she left the room. Sooner or later, she’ll have to get out no matter how stubborn she would want to me.

I fisted my hands as I restrained myself from venting all the anger I was feeling right now. I haven’t slept yet, and I rushed my work just so I could talk to her, but she… She didn’t seem to care enough to give me a bit of her time.

Feeling headache and heartache rushing through me, I silently tried to blackout everything.

“Alpha! Finally, I found you!”

I raised my head to see Henry running out of breath while looking alarmed.

Raising my eyebrow, I asked, “What is it?”

“Why aren’t you answering my mind links? I’ve been trying to contact you for ages!”

Standing up, I leaned on the railings and looked at him nonchalantly. “Now, don’t be too dramatic, Henry. I just need some alone time.”

Irritably, I asked, “What do you want from me?”

He took his time to catch his breath before reporting what shocked me to a great extent. “Albert is at the border! He’s trying to get in as ordered by Prince Lycan.”

“What?” Now, that was something that jolted every inch in me.
