When I closed my eyes under the shower, I still saw the image of Kylian rushing up to kiss me that day.
I was afraid that he would invade my life and hure me again, but he still appeared in my mind.
I lowered the water temperature a bit, the cold water helped me calm down.
As I went out of the bathroom in my pajamas ang a towel over my head, I heard my phone ringing at the top of my bedside table. Walking nearer, I saw that it's from Fae.
Smiling, I sat on my bed, threw my towel beside me, and answered the call.
"Hey, Fae."
"Della! So… spill the tea. What happened? How are you in there? Are they good to you? If those fucking bitches dare to…" She started ranting, asking questions one after. She shifted so fast from a gossiper into a worried friend.
Pulling my towel, I laid it on top of my pillow and laid down. With phone on my ear, I stared at the ceiling and replied, "Chill out now, Fae. How can I reply when you keep speaking?"
"Oh, yes! My bad, your turn."
"Well, thank you." With that sarcastic remark, we ended the jokes.
With a deep breath, I shared the news to her. "Kylian… He… He, uh, he locked up Margot because of me."
"He did?" Shock was evident in her voice.
Nodding as if she could see me, I added, "Yes, and what's more, he also arrested his mother after he heard us fighting and that she free Margot from prison."
"Okay, now that's something."
"It is, isn't it? And he...kissed me..."
Hearing my words, her voice became full of alarm, "Oh, no, no, no. Not again, darling."
"What?"
"You're not getting moved by him again, are you?" she asked which made my heart beat skip a beat for a second.
"No, of course not. And why–" I immediately retorted.
"Get your facts right, Della. Margot did an unforgivable sin! She should have been arrested and executed after what she did… not merely being imprisoned."
Right… Of course, she's right…
I was left speechless at that. It's not that he's doing something for me. It was the right thing to do in the very first place.
As if hearing the that I was bothered through my silence, she changed the subject. "Right, before I forget, you know he's very worried about you right?"
"Hmmm?" I feign ignorance. I mean, who else could she mean aside from Albert, right?
"Albert! Don't use that pretense on me. It won't work. He's been anxious since you left."
I replied, not wanting the conversation to go on about that. "Have you gone home yet though? Or have you stayed a while to you know… get punish by the Lycan Prince?"
"Della!"
I laughed out loud, imagining how much her face could be turning red right now.
"No such thing happened!"
"Oh! But something is, right?"
I heard her scream in defeat on the other end of the call and knew that I won.
"Stop it! We're talking about you and not me. Fine, don't change the topic! ...I called today to tell you about Flora. That woman infuriates me! I heard Flora's back in the Moon Howlers Pack. The alpha of Moon Howlers Pack already have a Luna, how dare she get entangled with him! She's doing what she did to you again! You know what? She doesn't care about matebond at all, she's a slut!"
"Fae…" I couldn't even interrupt her as she kept going.
"She uses that innocent face of her which everyone is so foolish to be deceived! If I were them, I will–"
Taking a deep breath, I spoke loudly to interrupt her, "Fae! Geez! Chill out for the love of moon goddess!"
When she finally stopped her rant, I added, "I don't care about her or how she's doing right now. I even don't want to hear her name. Now, even if she's like that or whatever she's doing, it's best that we don't talk ill behind anyone's back. Okay?"
That's what I told her, but for some reason, there's that troubling feeling surging over me and my wolf that made our heart beat fast.
Kylian… For some reason, I had a hunch that her end goal was Kylian. Knowing her, she's just probably getting entangled with the alpha of Moon Howlers Pack so she could ask him for help to get Kylian back.
"Della, you still there? They deserve my words. But don't worry, I'll try not to do it again."
Still lost in thoughts, I bid my goodbye and turned off the call.
If she was to come back again… I knew for sure that Kylian won't be able to resist her again. After all, she's his fated mate. They could happily live together again and abandon me to the side.
Just the thought of what I was going through again made me feel like I was going to die.
No, I can't let this happen again. I can't watch them get back together and watch them fall in love, I can't.
But...I had no position to stop them because we were getting divorced.
"We're getting divorce…" I whisphered as realized my current relationship with Kylian. My heart began to throb so hard that I had to put my hand on my chest to comfort myself.
Yes, Della.
No matter how things develop between them, it has nothing to do with you. You won't get hurt because of them anymore.
I took a deep breath to relax. Since we're bound to end our relationship, it would be best for me to tell him Flora's whereabouts.
Feeling uneasy, I swiped through my phone.
After a few minutes of hesitation, I finally clicked Kylian's phone number and called him.
"Della?"
I was shocked. It only rang once and he instantly answered the call, as if he's waiting for it.
Before, when Flora had came back, he wouldn't even answer my calls anymore. And if he would, I would end up hearing his after sex rough breaths which numerously piereced thorugh my hearts.
Could he really had changed? Or was it just for a show?
"Della! You called!" The excitement on his voice couldn't go unnoticed.
"Have you decided to stay with me? To be with me?" he continued, but I kept silent. How should I reply to him?
I couldn't help but be cautious on my every words and actions around him. I didn't know why, it probably had been my habit already after years of being with him.
Cautiously, I asked, "Can I.. talk with you?"
"I.. uh… Y-yes! Of course! Anytime you want… I mean… Yes, we can talk. When do you want to meet me?"
I could hear his nervousness over the line, but I play ignorant and simply answered his question. "How about tomorrow since it's already late?"
"Tomorrow it is then. I'll wait for you."
With that, I ended the call.
With all the talking I did, I held my hair and felt that it's already dry and no need to blow dry it.
But my heart is still flustered by Flora's news and my appointment tomorrow. I threw the towel aside, rolled on the bed for an unknown amount of time, and finally fell asleep.
Then suddenly, I heard a voice and snapped open my eyes. I found myself lying in the gardon.
What happened?
"Kylian!" The voice rang again.
I saw a woman shouted with excitement as she jump into Kylian's arms and embraced him with excitement.
Both their faces held that joyful smiles and rejoicing eyes. Everyone around them was apploading as the two lovers reunited from each other.
"You're finally back, I love you…" Kylian said to the woman…
Who could that be? How dare she hug Kylian?
I felt anger filling my chest. I tried to shout and call over him, but it was all in vain. There seemed to be that wall of glass before me and them, separating us. I stood on the sideline, watching the show unfold before me.
"Flora…" Finally he continued and that's when I finally clearly see the face of the woman he was holding.
It was Flora, his fated mate.
I should have known better.
Tears streamed down my cheeks, and that's when he finally looked at me and when the glass that separated us had broken to pieces.
"Kylian…" I whispered in sorrow.
"Della, now that she's back, I no longer need you. Leave!" he shouted as he threw a paper to my face which fall to the ground.
With shaking legs, I leaned down and picked up the paper only to see that it's the divorce paper… A divorce paper that's now finally signed by him.
"You! How dare–" I screamed, loud enough to wake myself.
I sprang up to my bed, covered with sweats all over my body and tears dripping from my eyes and onto my cheeks.
My heart was beating incredibly fast and loud as the aggravation I felt from that dream surfaced over me.
With a trembling hands, I picked up my phone on the bedside table and saw a message from Kylian. "I'll be waiting for you at the garden."
I looked at the phone screen and texted back: OK.
Flora will be back soon. In Kylina's heart, I will never be as good as his fated mate.
Kylian and I can no longer be stuck here. I will end it once and for all.
