Chapter 113

Elaine and Gab's curiosity about every foreign objects and appliances didn't stop there. They kept asking me about the kitchen appliances.
I promised to bake with Elaine. Yeah, we have time to do that while we're still planning about how we're going to execute our plan.
"You said that this woman named Gladys Muños is a famous celebrity, right?" Gab asked. We turned our heads to look at him. He's seated on one of the barstool while watching us prepare the ingredients for the cupcake we're going to bake.
I nodded. "Yeah," I answered shortly.
"So, does that means she's idolized and believed by so many people?"
I pouted my lips. "Well, yeah. Some of her fans even buy her merch. It's a fan thing. Like memorabilia and stuff," I replied. Elaine clicked her tongue.
"It's like how you idolize the author of the book you're reading!" she said in an annoyed voice. I chuckled. They're about to bicker again. I remember her telling me about her jealous about this particular author that Gab idolizes so much. "Stupid nutshell," she murmured beside me.
I smiled as we mix the wet and dry ingredients together. I landed my on Damon. He's been quiet for some time. He's just staring on the countertop and seemed to be in deep thoughts.
I released a deep sigh.
"Can you mix this for me?" I asked Elaine. She arched her brows in agreement.
"Sure thing."
I glanced at him again. He's still staring at nowhere. I carefully walked towards him. I put my hand on his shoulder.
"Hey?" I greeted. He lifted his head to look at me. His lips curved into a smile when he saw my face. "What's so interesting about the countertop? You've been staring at it."
He chuckled. "It's nothing. I'm just wondering about stupid scenarios," he said in a low voice. His hand wraps around my waist. I smiled when he made me sit on his lap.
"What is it?" I asked curiously.
Elaine and Gab are busy bickering on the kitchen island. I wonder what's been bothering him?
"I was wondering if they'll make a move while we're here."
My smile faded.
"I just don't understand why they'll trouble our world when they're part of it. Maybe they knew that we won't just stand and let them disclosed our world and they used that to buy themselves time," he added. I looked at his worried green eyes. He's full of worry. I wish I can make him a little better.
"You're right. Maybe that's what they were thinking. But you have to unwrinkle that handsome face of yours. We're not going to stay here for long. We'll go back as soon as possible," I told him sweetly.
He looked straight in my eyes.
"I'll them the plan."
My sweet smile made his pupils expanded twice its size. I looked at the bickering couple.
They're fighting over a spatula.
"I know how to mix this. Shut up!" Elaine hissed and snatched the spatula from her parsen.
"You don't mix it like an electric mixer. You have to gently fold it using a spatula. You'll make bubbles!" Gab said.
"I said shut up before I create stars around your head!"
I sighed. "Guys?" I called, but they won't stop bickering. "Guy here us out," I said again. They're acting all deaf and just keep on bickering. I looked at Damon who's giving them a hopeless look.
"I'm starting to regret agreeing them to come with us," he mumbled.
I sighed tiredly.
"HERE US OUT!" I thundered. The two of them flinched from my sudden yelling. Gab's eyes were as big as orange and Elaine seemed to be so shocked to witness the loudness of my voice.
I was shocked myself too when I first heard my own scream.
"Damon is about to say the actual execution of our plan. So, you have to lend us your ears," I said and stared at their astounded expressions.
Gab cleared his voice awkwardly and sat on the barstool again. Elaine wipes off the batter on her face and looked at us.
"I—I'm sorry."
"I—I'm sorry."
Both of them said that in chorus. I smiled shortly to lessen the tenseness. They have to learn how to behave themselves. I'm looking forward to working with them, but it'll be impossible if they keep bickering like that.
"I think you can start," I whispered to the man beside me.
"Searching her on the web is not how we can find her. I had to used my sources to find live updates about her. The account she's using is not her real account, so don't be fooled by it when she said she's somewhere or she's doing something."
We told them about the basics already. They couldn't believe how smart humans were to invent such thing called technology.
"She has paparazzis and I've managed to come in contact with one. He said that Gladys' schedule is not followed. He promised to send me her real schedule."
I looked at him dubiously. He's been doing that? When?
"We'll find the perfect time to catch her doing stupid stuffs on the bar where Golden used to work. You'll have to be patient and always ready. Is that clear?" he asked.
Gab and Elaine glanced at each other before nodding their heads obediently.
I went back to baking with Elaine. We had fun putting different toppings and icings on the cupcake. Everyone was excited to eat it except for Damon who's still in the process of sorting out plans in his mind.
I carefully put a cupcake on small plate.
"Baby," I called.
He looked at me. "Yes?" he asked curiously. I raised the plate and put it in front of him. "What's this?"
"It's a cupcake. You should try it. You will like it."
I took time designing it. I'm the most creative living thing in the world, but I'm trying.
"I'm good, baby." He smiled
My smile vanished when he suddenly stands up and enter the bathroom. I frustratingly diverted my eyes to the door he went in. It took me so much time and effort to make it.
How can he be that heartless?

We shared the cupcakes together. I decided to make them hot chocolate for all their efforts.
I'm glad that Tanya is not here.
I'm sorry about her chocolate drink. Hehe.
"Has Damon received the message from his so-called-source?" Elaine asked. I gazed at Damon. He's seated on the living room and staring at nowhere again.
He's been like that ever since he received God Hlaford's advice. I wanted to talk to him, but I'm afraid he'll reject me again like what he did earlier.
I still can't get over with the things he did to me. He rejected the cupcake I exerted so much effort on.
Tch!
"He's been like that for some time," Gab said while looking at him. His eyes formed a thin like when he looked at me. "Is he okay? Don't you think he needs to rest?" he asked.
I stared at him directly in the eyes. He see someone's thoughts by looking at their eyes. Is he reading me now?
"I don't have to read your mind to know what you're thinking. I've trained myself to filter what I'm seeing in others' eyes. I'm not reading your mind, Golden."
My cheeks turned pink. I didn't want him to think about it that way, but he's right anyway. I just can't help, but think if he's reading my mind or not.
It's not like I'll know when he's doing so.
"Stop staring on their eyes to stop them from thinking that you're reading their minds. You can't expect then to believe you when you're acting sketchy," Elaine said to him. She rolled her eyes and stuff her face with cupcakes.
I smiled reluctantly. They're getting better in reading body languages. I hope they'll learn how to behave themselves too.
"Do we do the plan in the morning?" she asked. I looked at Damon.
He told me about doing the plan at midnight, but he suddenly changed his mind saying it's too dangerous. I really don't understand him sometimes.
"Should I talk to him?" Gab asked me. He must have noticed me staring at Damon for quite a long time.
I shook my head and smiled.
"Nah, I'll talk to him."
He was about to walk to the living room when we heard a sound of a calling ringtone. I glanced at the phone in front of Damon.
His source is finally calling him.
