Chapter 107

Golden's POV

Nervous starts to crawl over me. I'm scared of what will the God of Spheria tell us. He is known from being a good God, but I am not quite sure if he still is to those who have committed such acts.

Breaking the golden rule was never a forgivable act.

We're so dead.

"V—Vestacios," I looked at him in the eyes. "God Hlaford." I put my hand on my chest and bowed. Damon did the same. It took him a few seconds before he gave us his blessing.

"Blessed," he said in a flat voice.

I raised my head and look at him. He's still wearing his expressionless face and I can't help, but think what he has on the back of his head. I'm sure he's thinking if whether he should punish us or not.

I'm a bit skeptical when he offered us a seat, but we accepted it as a sign of respect.

"You called for us?" Damon asked casually. I turned my head to look at him. The arrogance in his voice is making me want to vanish. We're at fault for Pete's sake!

Hlaford looked at him blankly. "Yes, Damon." He put his glasses on the table and massage the inner part of his brows. "I had a hard time sorting out my thoughts last night. The golden rule is called golden for a reason. It is to not just to hide our world, but to also protect it from possible harm," he explained.

I gulped and squeezed Damon's hand under the table. I'm so nervous right now. We might have saved a few before, but that doesn't give us a pass card in this situation.

"I think Golden is right," he said and glanced at me. I arched my brows confusedly. "Those patients were under hypnotism and Vortans are responsible for it. We should be the one's to get rid of the curse too." I parted my lips and sighed. I thought he'd really punish us.

"It was an obvious fact, God Hlaford. Forgive me if I say that you're lacking if you just realized it now."

My eyes grew big from his statement. I frantically pinched his fingers to stop him spouting nonsense, but he just ignored me like what he always do.

"I apologized if I disappointed you. I must have been blinded by my fear of humans invading our world," Hlaford replied. I looked at him astounded. It's not something I'm expecting him to say.

"Humans are just like us. They could be enemies and friends. It depends on how you will see and treat them," Damon responded.

Both of them have a point, but Damon is way more understanding of the situation. I criticized him from having second thoughts in helping those poor patients, but here he is now defending them. He is indeed mature already.

"So, what's the decision? Do we make a move or we just let things cool down?" he asked the God. The latter put on his glasses and smiled.

"I received a news from a trusted Chizosa. She said that humans are now planning in inventing some sort of machine that could open a parallel world," he said in a low voice. My eyes doubled in size. A machine? What kind of machine? They're taking that footage way too far. "I'm not quite certain how they did that or what is it for, but I believe that they have strong belief in our existence."

Is it all because of that footage?

"To put it bluntly, I don't think not doing anything will help. It will only make things worse. One of my sources told me that the Sanitarium's footage us just one in a thousands evidence the humans have," he added. Damon and I glanced at each other. I've always knew that humans are overly curious by nature.

But they're taking this to a different level. They're even building some sort of machine. Who knows if it will work?

"I'm not asking you to do this. It's for you to decide. I'm giving you the freedom to do what you think is right. Let me know once you already have an answer," he said genuinely and smiled. I moved out of my seat hesitantly.

We both bowed in front of him and was about to leave when he added a reminder.

"And please, don't rush your decision. The future of Vortaxia is in your hands."

We're now here on the field. It's safe to say that the condition of our Kingdom is better.

The stoned giant we saw was an illusion according to God Hlaford. I didn't understand at first, but he further said that it's a magic created by Wizarnia Kingdom. Those large insects came from Mythonia Kingdom. It's funny how they unite in making troubles in Vortaxia, but can't seem to accept the fact that we can't do anything in their race.

Is it our fault that wizardus have no powers? Their main strength is their brains. Wasn't that enough? Mythos are not monsters. How can they even called themselves like that?

Everyone is unique in their own ways. That's what they have to understand.

"You're thinking about something?" Damon asked. I looked at him. He has my sword again. Sharpening it like usual even though it's already sharp enough to cut a strand of hair. "That confusion on your face answers my question," he said amusedly.

I lifted my head to look at him. I'm looking directly in his green eyes and he doesn't even know it. He's too focus on doing his chore.

"What's your decision?" I asked in a serious voice. My question wiped the smile off his face. He released a deep sigh and put my sword down. "We can't keep doing this. Time is running."

He glanced at me. "Don't you think they planned this all along?" he muttered. I furrowed my brows in confusion. What does he mean?

"I'm not following," I replied. He combed his blonde hair back using his fingers and looked at nowhere.

"The police officer we talked to was suspicious. He had a weird emotion in his eyes. We already know the mere fact that he's not a human, but there's something more to discover."

Yeah, the signs that I saw tells us that he's not a human, but a Wizardus.

"I'm not sure if he's just a runaway like Foxxy, but the way he told is where they took Aluncina. He seemed to liked it when you got upset. I think her transfer there was planned. They hypnotized those poor patients because they know that we will not just leave them behind like that," he added. My brows furrowed. He's right.

"The knew that we'll get caught in the CCTV camera. Our footage is just one of the evidences they gave to humans. I think they're making another plan," he concluded. I looked at him. His face is telling me that we're in so much danger. How can he act like it's all nothing earlier when he's so worried inside?

"W—What do you mean?" I stuttered. He turned his head to look at me. Our eyes met again.

"They're not only buying themselves time to take whatever it is that they need from God Gaviel's bludgeon. They're also planning on baiting us on humans. It's either they'll have full control over Vortaxia of they will completely ruin it just for the sake of their selfish greediness."

That conclusion of him lead me to this can't sleep state. He's now snoring next to me and yet, I am in here thinking about the possibilities of all those things happenings.

What if he's right?

God Hlaford told us that our footage is just one of the puzzle pieces they've founded. What if they actually take their belief in the highest level and discover our world accidentally?

It could be dangerous to both humans and vortans.

We have to do something about it.

"Sleep now," he whispered in a half sleeping voice. I turned my body to face him. His eyes looks cute. They're very sleepy and puffy. "I can hear all your thoughts in my mind. Even I can't sleep."

I pouted and buried my face in his chest. He hugged me tightly. The last thing I felt was his lips kissing the top of my head before I let myself drifted off to sleep.

I hope everything will be better the next time I open my eyes in his arms.
