Chapter 75

Golden's POV

Diante informed us about the time and weather difference in Vortaxia and the outside world. That's why we told them to escort us at night so that we'll arrive there during the day.

At first, I didn't like the idea of going back to the human world. I don't know. Maybe because I'm a nobody there and I'm someone in here? I'm nothing but an invisible waitress there. Unlike here, I'm one of the most important Vortan.

"What's on your mind?" he asked. I looked at Damon. We're currently on the field waiting for Diante to come. He will be the one to escort us.

I don't know if you can still remember this particular place in Vortaxia where we were first gathered. It looks like Dragonia kingdom because we were on top of the clouds. It was an awesome place.

That's where we're going. We'll head back there to open a portal because for some reason it's the only place where you can properly go the human world. Going back in the outsdie world is forbidden. Once you get your ass in here, there's no going back.

That's their way of protecting our world but Vortans who have commited felony used the forbidden spell to open a portal to the  human world. That's where they hide.

God Hlaford strictly forbids anyone from coming with us. It's a hard decision that he has to make. The clue that Fiscio had given us lead us to a beach resort in my hometown. Yeah. Apparently, that common seashell happens to be found on my hometown's beach.

Now I remember seeing it from one of the invitations that Tanya's friends have given me.

"Nothing," I finally answered. He just smiled despite the obvious fact that he's not satisfied with my answer.

"Don't you want to go back?" he asked again. I arched my brows and blew a sigh. It's not that I don't want to go back. It's just that it will bring me so much memories.

"No. It's not that. I'm just not in the mood to talk. We all have that day, right?" I answered. He heaved a sigh and put his palm on my thin leg.

"Something"s bothering you and you're not telling me."

I stopped.

"Remember the knot I told you?" he asked. I lifted my head to stare at his green eyes. "I can feel your emotions because of it. I know that something's up with you and it hurts me everytime you say you're okay when you're not." He faked a smile.

"It makes me feel like you don't trust me." His jaw clenched.

"You know that what you just said is not true," I said in a small voice. I didn't know that I'm making him feel this way. Hurting him was never my intention. I just didn't want to worry him. After all, I, myself, still don't know what's going on with me.

Why do I keep on dreaming about these strange dopplegangers that mimic their voices and physical appearances? Why are their eyes black and dead? What does that means?

How will I ask for his help when I don't know how to explain it?

"I'm sorry," is all I managed to say.

He smiled bitterly and touched my face. It was too late for me to realized that I'm already crying for no reason. He wiped my tears away and planted a kiss on my forehead.

"You shouldn't be sorry. I'll do my best to help you, hmm?" he whispers.

Damon put his chin on the top of my head and locked me to an embrace. This was our position for the last three minutes before I saw Diante walking from a far. I voluntarily pulled away from him.

"Are you guys ready?" Diante asked. His deep voice thundered in my ears. He's a big man. No wonder why his voice sounds like of like a thunder. "God Hlaford had blessed me already. Let's leave now, shall we?"

The God of Classife did all the talking. Diante suggested to use Cronosus and Petunia but we didn't want to disturb them. Plus I heard that they're afraid of Mythonians. I don't have an exact idea on why they hated that race but Elaine told me that unicors were once treated as slaves in Mythonia kingdom.

That's why we're currently walking our asses off.

"Are you tired?" Damon asked. He lifted me up and I grabbed his shoulders for support. It would be much easier to travel on air but since Diante has no powers to teleport and fly, we're stuck down here and doing normal walking.

"I told you so many times already that you can go on and just wait for me," Diante intruded.

Damon and I looked at each other. "No. It would be rude of us to leave a God behind." I smiled sweetly at him. This walk is nothing compared to what we're about to encounter in the future.

The darkness of the place is not really helping. Thanks to the torches we have in our hands that were lighted up by Damon, we could see the path we're taking. The rain is not a big help too. It makes everything wet and slippery. Now we're prone to slpiing off.

That's also why Damon is taking extra care of me and is supporting my every walk. Diante is big enough to shovve the trees as we walked behind him.

One Goddess advised us to leave tomorrow morning so that we can leave through a moving carpet but we politely rejected her idea. We're running out of time. We have no time for a perfect timing.

"You polite freaks. It's just us in the forest right now. And I can manage myself," he slurs. Diante landed his eyes on Damon. "Go and transform yourself into a dragon. You know where to go, right? Just wait me there."

I was about to explain but Damon's body temperature starts to rise already. I clicked my tongue and just watch him transform himself into a beautiful white dragon.

Even though it's dark, I can still see the reflection of the moon on his shiny scales.

"Arghhh!" he growled. I smiled.

He's such a beauty.

"Do you understand what he says?" Diante asked. I glanced at him and back to Damon. I pouted my lips and shake my head. Is it possible for me to understand him?

"No. Not yet," I answered uncertainly.

"Arghhh!" Damon growls again and exhaled a huge steam from his nose. He wants me to get on his back. I looked at Diante and smiled.

"We should go," I said to him and hop on Damon's back. Diante looked at us proudly. He looks like a proud father. I can't really blame him. He's the one who taught us things.

"We'll see you later," I said before Damon spread his wings and fly.

I grabbed the strap on his neck and feel the warmth of the wind on my face. I've been training with him for quite a while now and I'm getting used to the heights. My lips curved into a smile when I saw the night view of Spheria.

It's sparkly too. The housed are filled with lights just like the Cities in human world. I still can't believe that we're going back there.

"Arghh!" he growled. I grabbed the strap tightly. It's a sign that we're heading down already.

The place is dead silent when we reached the ground. Damon transformed into his normal form.

"Diante is still not here," I told him. He nodded his head and scan the place.

I can't blame him. This place is an open space and everyone can go here in any second and attack us. Although nobody knows about out mission outside Vortaxia, we're still prone to attacks since a lot of Vortans want to leave and go back to human world for who knows what reason.

"He's here," Damon whispers.

I followed where he's looking at and see Diante walking to us with something in his hand. My eyes grew big when I saw the thing in his hand clearly.

It's an unconscious wolf.

"I saw this thing hiding and watching you two. Prepare yourselves. He may not be alone."
