Chapter 74

"Scared? Why would you be scared of her?" I asked. He pouted his lips and looked away.
A line formed in between my brows. Steve is scared if Freeda. I know that the common traits of male Chosens are submissive to their female parsens but isn't this way too much? No Chosen should be scared of their own parsen. There's something fishy going on.
"Nevermind. Forget it. We just don't talk that much and it kind of saddens me to be honest," he said and smiled. No! You can't move away from the topic. I must satisfy the questions bombarding my mind first.
"You should tell her," I blurted. He looks at me confusedly. It looks like he wasn't expecting me to tail his statement and continue with this topic. "I mean... I'm a girl too. I know what it feels like to be far away from your parsen." I smiled sweetly. He heaved a deep sigh.
"Damon and I fight over small things all the time. It's like as if we're paired to fight over again and again." I chuckled.
"How do you guys make up?" he asked.
"Well he does the yielding. If he sense that something is up, he'll confront me right away and fix it. That's what I like about him," I said in a small voice. I mean it. We do fight all the time and he's the one who put efforts into making us okay.
"He does?"
"Yeah. People think that men have the most highest pride but they're wrong. It's a different story when you're in a relationship." I chuckled. His lips pouted worse.
"So I should be the one doing the talking to her, huh?" he snorted. I nodded my head. He exhales deeply. He obviously doesn't like the idea of being the one to reach out first but it's the only way they'll be okay.
"Why are you stressing so much about it? Is it hard to tame her?" I started my interrogation. He looked at me and nodded.
"She is a pain in the ass. I can't even tell is she's a Chosen or the other race. She just doesn't show that much emotions and compare to other female Chosens, she seems pretty cold. Like really cold. She reminds me of Wizardus." He sighed.
Pain crosses his eyes. I nodded slowly. I'm carefully digesting every information he's giving me. I can use this against her. My suspicion of where she came from is meeting his statements. I can make her talk with these. Maybe.
"You should go and talk to her. Maybe she wants more attntion from you," I said like as if I really know what I'm telling to him. The truth is I know nothing and that's why I'm here. I need his help.
"Yeah. I think I have to go now," he said. My brows arched.
"Already? But you haven't finish your food yet," I said while looking at his barely touched plate. He smiled sheepishly and glanced at my back.
"I'm sure you'll thank me once you see the guy walking down the hall," he responded. I turned my head to look at entrance and my lips parted when I saw Damon.
"You shoul-" I snapped. He's already gone. I didn't even noticed him leaving.
"What are you doing in here all alone?" he asked sweetly and kissed my lips. I glanced around. I'll tell him what happened once we get out of here.

Time sure flies fast. I grabbed him back to our chambers. He was asking me tons of questions but I made him shut by looking at him meaningfully.
"I talked to Steve," I confessed. His eyes turned small in an instant.
"You talked to who?" he blurted. I haven't say anthing stupid yet and he's already mad. But he needs to hear me out first. "Why would you talk to him? Look baby, I know that I told you that Spheria offerss friendly battle that will not change the fact that we hurt each other during the fight. Who knows if he's still mad to you. What did he say?!" He checked my body like as if he's trying to find any bruise or any signs that could prove Steve hurt me but of course, there will be none. Because he didn't.
"Steve didn't hurt me. He actually helped me. He helped us," I said. His lips twitched.
"Help? What do you mean?" His face is all crumpled right now.
I pulled a chair and made him sit first before proceeding to my story.
"He's not close with Freeda too and he noticed red flags and weird things about her. He can be our witness," I told him and smiled. He heaves a sigh and hold my hand.
"We can't trust him. He can be acting all innocent and try to gain your trust to know about our plans."
I smirked.
"Then let's play along."

A day have passed. God Hlaford was kind enough to give us a day break. It was enough for me. I'm not going to lie. What happened back in the forbidden cave still scares me. I still can't stop thinking about how I managed t leave that cave with Damon's impostor and leave my real parsen behind.
I hate to admit this but I'm sort of weak in witchcraft. I can't let this be my weakness and their strength. I know that there's some sort of skill that I can enhance to stop these pecliar events from happening.
It is a rainy day. The sky is so gloomy and it makes me sleepy. We're currently headed to God Hlaford's office. Damon opened the huge door for us and we were greeted by the Gods and Goddesses of Spheria Kingdom. We bow our heads.
"Blessed," Hlaford mumbled.
Damon and I sat on the round table where everyone is gathered. My brows twitched when I saw a map like tool on the table. This is the map of Spheria. There are little flags everywhere and what's cool about this thing is tht it moves. There are clouds and birds.
"What you see in front of you is Mapheus," he started. "He knows every place in Vortaxia. Even the rarest and the most peculiar things are found by him so a common seashell like thiZs," He raised the clue that Fiscio gave us. "will not be that hard to find."
I smiled. This is much easier than what I imagined. How can I forget the magic and powers here in Vortaxia. Oh! Of course, they have tools for that. Thanks to Mapheus.
"But unfortunately, we failed to see this seashell in our world."
The next thing he said wiped the smile on his face. What?
I looked at Damon and he looks surprised too. What does that supposed to mean? Did Fiscio give us nothing?
"Professor Nux had extended Mapheus' radar capabality and this seashell was found," he continued. I sighed in relief. I thought we did all those challenge for nothing. "But it wasn't found not here but in the human world."
My eyes grew big.
"I'm sorry but where?" I asked again.
"You heard me just right my child. The culprit hides in the world of humans," he responded. Chills crawled down my spine. It can't be.
"Does that mean we will go back to the human world?" Damon asked the question in my head. I looked at God
Hlaford. I can see in his eyes that he doesn't want to send us back to the human world but he has no choice.
"Yes."
That one answer from him is still bombarding my mind. Diante told us that a lot of Vortans who commited felony are hiding in the human world to avoid the punishment of being an ivaw. I don't even know. I might have met one of them in the past without me knowing.
"When did he say we'll leave?" I asked. He looked at me and smiled.
"Tomorrow. Diante will escort us to the portal."
I heaved a deep sigh.
Fine. I missed my life back in the human world anyway.
