My face is so impossible to paint right now. I frowned as I look at the piece of seashell on his palm.
"That is the clue?" I asked with a hint of hopelessness in my voice. He smiled sheepishly. He was so excited to show it to me but how can we possibly get a clue in a seashell that looks so common. It can be found anywhere. What's so special in this seashell?
"We must go to the dining hall first. Everyone's waiting for us there now," he says and hold my hand. I pulled myself using his long strong arms. I looked around the room. Nothing changed. We're really home.
"They know?" I asked.
"Yeah. News spread like fire in here," he answers. He opens the door and let me out first. I noticed how some of the Chosens stare at us with mixed emotions on their faces. Majority of them looks proud and amazed. Some looks envious and mad. Whatever. Maybe it's just me?
"How did I get here?" I asked again. He glanced at me.
"You passed out. Fiscio was trying to test your crystal."
A line formed in between my forehead.
"Testing for what?" I asked. He smiled shortly and pulled me closer to him when a man was about to bump on me. I smiled when I felt his hand on my waist.
"She's trying to test the strength of your crystal. Remember when you almost died on Batailen?" His grip on my small waist tightens. "Hlaford used my orb to cleanse yours. Yours were stained by Freeda when she tried to put a curse on you. Fiscio was jusy trying to see if you needed her help."
I pouted my lips. Why would I need her help?
"What for?" I asked again. He turns to the main hall and chuckled. His blonde hair looks so handsome on him. How did I end up having him as my parsen?
"You're so curious today, baby. What's up with you? Are you hungry already?" he laughed. I just smiled. The Chosens are still looking at us.
"Hi Damon," a not so familiar girl greeted. My right brow raised automatically. Since when did he become so popular?
"Hello Golden," a man greeted to me. His smile faded when he saw Damon glaring at him. What's going on?
We stopped in front of a huge door. "We're here," he smiled. He opened the door for us.
The moment I stepped a foot inside, all the Chosens turned their heads to the entrance to look at us. I winced whem they all stand up and started cheering for our names.
"Woahhh!" they screamed.
Damon guided me inside and I smiled as I saw their proud faces looking at us. They seemed so proud.
On the huge platform floating above is a long table occupied by the Gods and Goddesses. Hlaford is there too. I smiled when he raised his glass.
"Listen everybody," he speaks. The little pixie dust being rained on us stopped in an instant. They looked at the highest man in our kingdom. Damon and I stopped in front of them.
"The two Vortans in front of you is the first Vortans in history to gain the sacred fish, Fiscio, true form. I'd like you all to give them a round of applause," he announced.
The dining hall literally shook because of their big hands. I chuckled softly.
So this is what fame feels like, huh?
"I call for the special table," Hlaford said making everyone gasped. I lifted my head to look at Damon.
"What is the speacial table?" I asked. He looked down on me and kissed my forehead. "Is there something magical about it?" I looked at him with big round eyes. I am so curious,
"No baby. It's just a special table for Vortans who caused an excellent celebration," he said and smiled. "We're so luckyto have this opportunity. It's rare for small Vortans like us to occupy that table." His words touch my heart. Really?
I squinted my eyes when I saw a gold table floating towards us. It's glowing like real gold. Wow!
"This is the special chair that has existed since archaic times. Several people with names have made their presence near it and Golden and Damon are deserving for this prize," Diante stated. The croed starts to cheer our name.
We didn't have to chant the spell. The table descended itself voluntarily together with its gold chairs. I smiled when I saw Bubbles. It's been long time since I last saw her.
"Hey!" I chirped. Bubbles smiled sweetly to me.
"Ivaaaaaaw!" she squaked excitedly and embrace me. I chuckled. I missed her voice. Oh my gosh.
Damon offered me a seat. I can feel their stares as I make my way to the gold chair. Damon went to his and both of our eyes grew big when colorful lights started coming out everywhere. Woah!
"Woahh! This is wicked!" I heard someone gasped in amazement. I amusedly hold my chair when the tables started ascending to the air. It felt like were being swayed by a gentle wind. This is surreal.
"Since this is a celebration. Everyone deserves to have a wonderful feast!" Diante announced. I smiled when the ivaws started flying arnd to approach their masters. Each of them have pastel trays on their hands.
"Thank you very much!" I told Bubbles as she handed me the two bright beans. I've never seen such bean before.
I voluntarily took two drops of water in each bean. In just a blink of an eye, it became a full feast. I smiled when I saw Damon's handsome face. He's not even looking at the food. He was staring at me.
"You're beautiful when you're excited," he complimented.
I smiled. I turned my head to the surreal scenarios around me. People are screaming our names. Ivaws are flying everywhere. The Gods and Goddesses looking so happy on their seperate table. There are colorful lights bringing life to the dining hall. The ceiling starts to change into a very nice looking galaxy picture.
This is what I wanted. I wanted this skind of setup. I wanted them to be happy. There are no negativities inside this hall. I can't believe that this kind of place actually exists.
"Why are they so happy?" I talked to myself unconsciously. Damon stopped eating his food and smiled.
"Because what we did is worth a celebration. We brought hope to them. They are rooting for us now," he said that made my smile fade. It didn't sound right to me. "We managed to gain Fiscio's trust. And we are now destined to find God Gaviel's missing bludgeon."
My lips parted. This doesn't sound right.
I lifted my head to the scenarios around me. People are screaming our names. Ivaws are flying everywhere. The Gods and Goddesses looking so happy on their seperate table. The colorful lights bringing life to the dining hall. The ceiling changing into a very nice looking galaxy scene.
Isn't this too much?
They're already celebrating when we barely made the mission. We're not even starting to find God Gaviel's missing bludgeon but they're already celebrating like we have made our mission already.
What is this?
"Damon?" I called. He looks at me and smiled.
"Is there something wrong?" he asked. He's still smiling at me. Why does his words and expressions don't match? This is strange.
"Am I dreaming?" I whispered to myself. They are still celebrating like they already own the world. Why is this so good to be true. They can't celebrate this much to a barely finished mission, right?
"Why do you look troubles?"
I flinched when I heard Hlaford's voice in my left ear. My eyes grew big as I moved myself away from him. When did he get so close to me?
"Don't you want this?" he mumbled and walked to Damon. He still has a huge smile plastered on his face. I looked at them with small eyes.
"Ivaaw," Bubbles said in a low voice.
My grip in the plate tightens as I saw their eyes changed into a pitch black color.
"NO!" I screamed loudly.
"Hahahaha!" the crowd laughed. Damon started laughing too. Their voice rang my ears like a nuclear bomb. I closed my ears in horror. No this is just an illusion. This is not true.
"Isn't this what you wanted, Golden?" Hlaford asked in an evil tone. My vision starts to get blurry. I looked at him with my wet eyes.
"No. What I wanted is this!" I screamed on the top of my lungs and stab my hand with a fork.
"Hahghhh!" I gasped for air.
"Baby?!" Damon blurted and come running to me. I trembled when cold wind touches my wet skin. I scanned the place. We're still in the Sayana River.
"Fucking dream," I cussed.
