Chapter 69

I have no plans of telling you guys what happened to Grustova. I found myself waiting outside. Damon was so mad that he literally blew the rocks that were blocking the entrance. He should have done that the first time we went there.
I've never seen him so mad before.
"I didn't like the idea of her copying me just to steal you," he huffed. We're already on our way to Sayana River. If it weren't for this flying plate, Damon would have literally burned her to death already. She gave us this so Damon would spare her.
This is a flying object that can help us get to our destination more quickly.
"How did you do that?" I asked. I saw him look at me using my peripheral vision. I lifted my head and our eyes met. His pupils dilated. This guy is so in love with me.
"Do what baby?"
"How did you talked to me. I heard your voice. You were inside my head," I told him. He smiled. He raised his big hand just to cupped my face.
"Diante told me about this knot. It basically gives us a connection. It's somewhat unexplainable. Parsens just happened to communicate with each other. It's a thing in Vortaxia after mating," he explains. A line formed in between my brows. Did he just say the word 'mating'?
"Mating? Excuse me?" I blurted. His eyes grew big from the sudden realization.
Oh yes asshole. You're dead.
"You told him what happened to us!" I screamed on the top of our lungs. He almost fell.
"Yah! I didn't tell him. He knew already!" he defended himself but I'm too freaking embarassed about the thought of him telling that to a God. Geez! I'm about to kill this fucking guy.
"And you admitted! Argh! I hate you! Asshole! Asshole!" I yelled and started hitting him. His freaking laugh made me more frantic. Oh he's happy? Really? "You think that's funny!"
"We wouldn't have survived that quest if that didn't happened!" he answered. I closed my fist. This freaking guy. Argh!

We reached the Sayana River. It's almost midnight. My anger had subsided already but I'm always ready to use that against him if I have a chance. He's already taking care of our stuffs.
I tried to touch the water using the tip of my toe.
"It's freezing cold," I commented. He glanced at me.
"The bean must have expired already. Consume this," he said and handed me the bean he gave me yesterday. The one that gives us body to adapt to water. I accepted it and put it inside my mouth in one sitting. He ate one too. He put the bag on his body and walked to me.
The gift is inside that bag.
"Are you ready?" he asked.
"Aren't we supposed to wait for a moment for the magic bean to take effect?" He smiled.
"It's automatic. Shall we?" he asked again. I nodded and I closed my eyes as we both fell in the cold water. I can still feel the freezing temperature of the water but the difference now is that it doesn't affect me much. I tried to inhale underwater and it worked.
I'm a fish again.
"She must be down below here again," he said and looked at the black clam below us. We dived into the deepness of the water again. Thanks to the magic bean, we are able to reflect the light from the moon and see clearly underwater.
"Her fish form is not here," I said as I glance around to look around the water. Where did she go? Argh! I'm not nito hide and seek right now seriously.
"We have to find her baby," he told me. My eyes formed a thin line. It's so late. We don't have time for this.
"Whatever. Let's just find her before we run out of time," I said and lead the way.
We swim for hours. All the possible places underwater that she could be staying at were all empty. Tons of fhishes have crossed my tired face already but no Fiscio in sight.
Is this another challenge?
"Should we go look for Linda and ask for help?" I asked him. He looked at me and smiled.
"Oh yeah. I almost forget about her. The little friend we made here. Haha! The one you were jealous of," he snickers. Oh really? You have the time to fool around.
"Whatever. How can we summon her though?" I asked. Time is ticking.
"Mermaids are usually on rocks watching the stars at this time. Should we go back to the surface and look for her?" he asked. I nodded. He held my hand tightly and started swimming upward.
I wiped my face the moment I lifted my head above the water. Damon's hand is tightly intertwined to mine. He's so afraid to lose me. Well... The last time we tried looking for Fiscio I ended up being seduced by a mermaid. So that explains everything. The reason why it was always me who gets under the spell.
Linda is into girls. That was unexpected.
"Can you see her?" he asked. I glanced around just to see an empty rock.
"No. I don't think she's here," I responded. There's a hint of hopeless in my voice. "How do we summon her?" I talked to myself. Enough for Damon to hear. He turned his head to look at me.
"I actually know a way," he said and smiled meaningfully. Oh no. I'm not liking this.
"You knew? Then why you didn't do it when we were looking for Fiscio?" I taunted. He chuckled.
"It only works when you're friends with mermaids," he explained. I rolled my eyes. "Are you interested or not?" He chuckled. Whatever.
"Spill," I said blankly.
He enthusiastically turned his body to me and smiled like a dog.
"The thing is you have to communicate with them using their way," he said. My face crumpled. I remember him emphasizing me that he's a dragon and not a fish. Well I'm a Chosen not a fish too.
"I don't speak fish language," I told him. He laughed softly and kissed the tip of my nose.
"You're funny," he commented. I just rolled my eyes again. "The thing is you have to sing for them," he said and give me his killer smile.
Sing?
I smiled sweetly.
"Sing?" I asked. His pupils dilated.
"Yes bebe," he agreed.
"You think I can sing!" I raised my voice and pinch his hard abs.
"Ow! Yah! I heard you singing in the bathroom," he justifies. "And beside baby time is running. We have to do this or we'll lose this quest."
His statement my cheeks red. He's right. I have to do this or all our efforts will be put to waste.
"Whatever," I said and start swimming to the rock. I sat there like a mermaid and clear my voice.
So what should I sing?
