Golden's POV

"Damon?" I called for how many times already. Where the hell is he? He can't be dead, right? He's a powerful dragon. He can't just die like that! We are not even starting yet.

"Damon!"

No this can't be real. He should be alive. He should be here!

"Damon! Give me a sign that you're here please," I almost begged but all I receive is the dead silence of the cave. I glanced at the mirrors again. They reflect me no more. My brows furrowed when I noticed something fishy about the mirrors.

Wait... Is that a crack?

Among all the mirrors that are facing me right now, this is the only one that has crack on it. I blew a sigh. I'm hopeless. Even the slightest detail in this cave gives me false hope. I successfully won over that mimicking opponent of ours but I lost Damon.

Where is he? I won't leave this place. Not until I see him. I can't help but be filled with melancholia. Losing him is my greatest fear. He was replaced by an enemy the moment I turned my back at him earlier. It happened so fast and I didn't even noticed it.

This is my fault.

My ears twitched when I heard small banging sounds. It sounded like someone's trying to break in.

"Damon?" was my first instinct. It could be him but I still hold my sword. It could be anyone as well. "Speak!" I ordered but I heard nothing. I'm still hearing the loud banging.

Where the... Wait. The mirror!

I glanced at the mirror I saw earlier and the crack got bigger. Hell no! Is that another enemy?

It keeps on banging the glass.

Okay... I just need to shatter that glass. It's not that hard. I just need to know what's inside of it. It could be my parsen. Please help me God Gaviel.

I walked to the contained mirror slowly. The more step I take, the louder my heart beats.

The thought if being attacked again scares me but losing my only man scares me the most. I don't think I can leave this place without him. There's just no way I would leave him behind here.

Just a few more steps and I'm almost there.

My grip in the sword tightened. Looks like I'm about to break some things here people. Let's assume that this is all part of the plan. I lifted my weapon and exerted all my strength to break the reflective glass.

"Harghh!" I yelled as I closed my eyes to hit the mirror. My feet automatically moved away when the pieces of glass starts to fly everywhere.

I opened my eyes to see Damon looking at me with his weak expression. He smiled at me and stepped out of the mirror.

Oh my god.

He was really there!

"B—Baby," he stutters. My eyes landed on his bleeding fists. He punched the mirrors. The back side of the glass must have been so tough for him to hurt himself like that.

"Are you alright?" I asked worriedly. I scooted to him immediately. My hands touched his red hands. "You shouldn't have done that!" I scolded but he just smiled again like he's enjoying my worried state.

"You were so cool. I was watching you from inside."

I glared at him. He has the time to say that now, huh?

"Shut up," I blurted.

"That made me hesitate to fight with you now. You seemed to be more stronger than me." He wiggled his brows. I squeezed his wounded fists violently.

"Oww! Baby that hurts," he protested. I just rolled my eyes and make him sit to the other side of the well. I need to aid him first.

"We still need to figure out how we will take that bloody red well out of here," I started while putting herbs in his wounded fists. "The hole we used to enter this place is too small. And do you think it's possible to take the well out of its place?" I asked.

"Are you sure that Fiscio wanted the well?" he asked. My lips pouted. She mentioned something red, right? Bloody red to be specific.

"The well is the only red thing in this cave. Even if you used your mouth to breathe fire, all you'll see are mirrors. They reflect nothing but it isn't red. Even Grustova is not red." I pouted. He looks at me with his confused green eyes. "I thought you were watching me? Grustova's the enemy I've slain." I rolled my eyes.

"Oh. She has the audacity to introduce herself to you?" he commented amusedly. I just shrugged my shoulders. She even told me that it was nice to meet me. Little did she know, I was the one who will end her merciless murders.

"Speaking of... Do you think she's actually dead?" I asked him. He stopped.

I'm already wrapping his fists with some bandages when he froze like an ice. I lifted my head to look at him. He seems astounded.

"Where is she?" he asked.

I pursed my lips.

"Inside the well?" I answered hesitantly. His eyes turned small. I watched him look at me in horror. What? What did I do? I mean I was just trying to save myself? She would have killed me if I didn't do it to her, right?

He smiled.

"She is not dead. Grustova spared us. She liked your determination," he contradicted. A line formed in between my eyebrows. How did he say so?

"How do you know?"

"She's a Justub, baby. She's not dead nor alive. She's somewhere in between. Grustova's main role in this cave is to be its caretaker," he explained. How does he know those things?

"The mirrors in this place are dangerous. They don't just reflect appearances, they also reflect your skeletons in the closet. It makes Vortans fight and doubt their credibility. It's a thing in this cave and that's why Grustova's trying to protect Vortans from it."

What?

"But she killed the Vortans who tried to come here," I told him confusedly. Why is he suddenly defending the creature who almost killed me?

"Those are for a show. She didn't want them to come here and so she put on a show. She made people believe that Vortans who came here never made it out alive." He smiled. What?

"Where are you getting all that?" I asked. I tied his bandages gently. He is confusing me. Are we on the same page?

"When I was inside the mirror, scenes started flashing. I was able to see her story. She was cursed."

Cursed?

"By whom?" I asked. He looks at me with his glowing green eyes. He withdraw his hand at me and stands up.

"Let's take this well out of here, shall we?" he says. I looked at him confusedly.

"Uhh... Okay."
