Chapter 62

My mentality still can not believe that we managed to make Fiscio acceptour offer. Not just that. Whou would have thought that Fiscio is actually as 'she'. I would have used the pronoun 'he' for who knows how long it she did not show us her true form.
It must have been hard for her to be called he and his. That sucks.
Anyway, Damon and I are currently headed back to the castle. It is really enchanting here. Imagine, we entered a huge door that led us to Sayana River. It's like a freaking portal you all.
We're not taking the portal by the way. Fiscio mentioned a cave and I only know one cave in Spheria. The dangerous place of all. "Do not you think we should gear up first?" Damon asked. He has a nervous look on his face. Not for himself but for me. He knows about the cave. Apparently, it is a famous place.
Tons of Vortans that entered that cave never made it out. If you are fortunate enough, you will be alive for a few days and die from a shock. We do not know what we will see inside and I am honestly terrified about that too. But fear has no room in my life for now.
Our life will be put to risk if we do not do something. We are the only ones who can save ourselves.
"We have the gears already, Damon. Stop being a grandpa will you?" I slurred. He hissed.
"Vortans literally died in there. Are you not afraid?"
I sighed deeply and turn my head to look at him. Silly guy.
"Of course, I am. We do not know what is inside that cave and that is enough to scare me. It terrifies me but that does not mean I will stop right here," I told him honestly. His expression softens. I know that he gets my point. I reached for his face. "Do me a favor and stop worrying yourself. We will get through this together. We will win this battle." I smiled in a pesuasive manner.
He planted a soft kiss in my forehead.
"Your bravery fears me the most. How can you be this brave, hmm?" he mumbles.
I smiled at what he said. He is right. I was never this brave. I used to be the girl who would let people belittle and shame her in public. I used to be the girl who would let his foster family says bad thing about her.
I became so brave. And that is because I have a reason to be one. I have to fight.
"I am just afraid that something bad will happen to you." I immediately cut him off with a quick kiss on the lips.
"Shut up," I told him.
I smiled sweetly and let him embrace my small body. So this is what it feels like? To have someone care about you, worry about you and be afraid of loosing you. What a nice feeling to have. I am so lucky to have him.
"Should we really be doing this in front of the cave itself?" I joked. He chuckled sexily in my next. A few more sniffs and he finally let go of me. I smiled. "We can do this. You and me."
Damon stares at me from head to toe. "Are you sure you will wear that?" he asked.
I looked at myself. I'm still wearing the dress. Oh yeah. Almost forget about that. Who fights in a dress?
I grabbed the magic towel in my bag. One word from me and it transformed itself to a cubicle. I grabbed the clothes we hung dry in the tree earlier.
"Dressed." My changing did not take so much time. Vortaxia makes things more easier and convenient fo me. "Hey!" I said. Damon looked at me with his almond green eyes. How handsome.
"You look good," he compliments. I just shook my head. I better die beautiful people.
He intertwined our hands. There is a hint of nervousness in his voice no matter how hard he try to hide it from me. I can feel it. I can sense it though his ice cold hand which never happened before.
I am still surprised that I can touch him. I can still remember the first time I laid my hands on his body. He was so freaking hot that it felt like a touch a butt of a heating pan. He learned to control his body temperature and steaming from Diante.
I hope he learns to be more scared of Loosing this battle more than loosing me.
This is not the real battle yet. We are not even in the starting point yet.
I can already see the darkness of the cave. Although there are some rocks that are place to the entrance to prevent Chosens from going inside, I can still that some are really hard headed. There is this small hole where a Chosen can fit. I am sure than a lot have tried that small entrance already.
"Are we going inside using that hole?" I asked him and pointed the hole I just saw. He followed my gaze just to see a resulting frown.
"That is too dangerous," he contradicted. I want to laugh but now is not that time. I mean, we are about to fight someone inside if there is someone inside but he is still thinking about the danger of using that small hole as the entrance.
"Give me the rope," I told him. He looked at me with confused eyes. Base from his expression, he does not like my idea. But who cares? "Time is running. We only have one day. You have to remember that," I reminded. His jaw clenched.
I helped him attached the hook to the rope. We are going to hook this to the top and we will see if we can climb up. This cave is pretty huge anyways. It is about twenty feet tall and the hole is on the top right corner.
It is filled with rocks but I do not think we can trust our weights on them. They looked fragile. They seemed like they have been sitting there for centuries. Some are already pulverizing.
I let Damon do the job for me. He told me to step back and I did. He positioned himself and starts to circle the hook in his hand. With full force and power, he throw it to the top and I smiled when it hooked successfully.
He pulled it strongly to test its durability and it was a good shot. He looked at me.
"I will go first."
I frowned.
"I am lighter than you. I should climb first," I insisted and snatched the rope from him. I was about to tie it in my waist when he hugged me tightly.
"Argh! Fuck this quest. I can not stop worrying. I never liked this idea. Why does it have to happen to us. There are millions of Chosens, Vortans. Why us?" he vented out as he snuggle in my neck. I smiled.
I heaved a deep sigh and turned my body to look at him.
"Because we can. Because we will."
