Chapter 50
1110words
Am I dead? I can still feel the warmth of my surroundings though. Is this what's it like when we're dead. Like we're experiencing sleep paralysis. You can see and feel your surroundings but you can't move—Oh! Wait. I can move my finger.
I tried moving my pinky toe too and my lips wiggled when it did moved.
I opened my eyes just to close it again because of the strong light coming out of the window. I squinted my eyes to see Damon's head sleeping peacefully beside me.
Where am I?
Are we both dead? That's tragic, man.
I winced when Damon's eyes opens. His eyes widened when he saw me awake.
"Baby!" he called and hold my hand. "What do you feel? Are you alright? Does anything hurts? I'll call the medic," he said nervously but I grabbed his hand to stop him. He turned to look at me. He looks happy and worried at the same time. My poor man.
"I am okay. Just stay here with me," I told him weakly. My body hurts so freaking bad but that's better than actually dying. I thought I was dead like for real.
"What do you feel?" he asked. I looked at his worried eyes and smiled.
"I'm okay. You don't need to worry," I mumbled. He reached for my hand and bring it to his right cheek. "Where are we?" I asked and looked around. Base from the room's ambiance, I can tell that we're still in Dragonia kingdom.
"This is the clinic. There were people in here earlier but I asked them to leave," he answers. A soft hand touched my heart. That's sweet.
But... What actually happened? I know that I'm supposed to be dead by now. Playing a hero role isn't really my thing and I still can't believe to this minute that I actually throw myself at that petrificus to protect him. Am I that in love with him?
"Hlaford saved you. He used my orb to cleanse your crystal." He smiles like as if he read what's on my mind. I sighed in relief. I knew that he wouldn't abandoned us. I could feel his presence on the battlefield.
"What about Selda and Draco?" I asked. His smile faded.
"You won't believe what they told me." My brows arched. What? What did they tell you?!
Damon didn't waste a second and spill the tea to me. I almost barfed myself to sleep in too much surprise. What the hell? So that's why Greg is a jerk to him all along. He wasn't his real father! And that's why he's been pushing Draco to me because he wanted him to be the last pure dragon.
It's not like he'd turn as one if he becomes my parsen anyway.
"That's wicked," I commented. He chuckled and hold my hand. "I'm glad you're safe," I whispered. His eyes sparkled and I could tell just by looking at him that he wants to cry from what I said.
"Why did you do that?" he cried. I smiled genuinely and reached for his face.
"You would have done the same so shut up." I laughed.
"I am the guy, baby. Do you even have the slightest idea of how scared I was? I thought I'd loose you. I thought you'd leave me. You turned rock in my arms and that's still terrifying me till to this second. Promise me that you won't do that again," he orders. I pursed my lips and stare at his crying face. He looks so scared.
"Promise me baby," he begs.
I heaved a sigh.
"I promise."
He closed the gap in our faces and I moaned when I felt his lips on mine. He pulled his face away from me and kisses my forehead.
"I love you," he whispers.
"I love you too."
He smiled sweetly and grab a glass of water in the table beside me. "Before the gods left, they told me something," he confessed. I accepted the water and give him a questioning look.
"What?" I asked.
"They put us on a mission."
"A mission?"
My forehead creased. What does he mean?
"Hlaford will talk to us about it once we get back in Spheria. We'll leave as soon as you feel better." He took a small powder and mix it in my water. The glass turned green. Eww!
"I am better," I lied after seeing the medicine.
"No, you're not baby. Please drink it. That will lessen your body pain," he mumbles. I gulped my disgust away and drink the glass. I scowled from the bitter taste. Disgusting!
He chuckled amusedly and took the glass. I rolled my eyes. I hate getting sick. This taste so freaking bad. Can't they do magic and make that taste sweet, at least?
"You didn't tell me that you've seen my mom already," he said in sweet voice. I gazed at him puzzled. His mother? I saw his mother already? Why do I not know that?
"She came here earlier. She wanted to warn us about my father—I mean, my uhhh Greg's plan when you saw her running to us," he stuttered. I smiled at him. It's okay to call him by his name. He's a liar after all and he was never a father to him anyway.
"That was her. She looked just like you and I thought it was weird. How can you not tell that she is your mom?" I asked. He smiles.
"I could but I stopped myself. She was always so kind to me and I didn't want to give myself false hopes. I envied Draco because of her. I wanted her to be my real mom but I knew that I couldn't label as her one because I thought she was Draco's mother," he tells. My lips curved into a smile. I could see the happiness in his eyes. He's so happy to have her as his real parent.
That made me want to meet her so bad.
"The first thing I did was hug her the first time I see her as my mom. She cried, baby. And I've never felt so happy." His eyes watered again. My man's so sentimental today. Is that what he gets for being the last pure dragon in Vortaxia?
"Should we call her?" I asked. He looked at me bemusedly. "I want to meet my future mom." The two corners of his lips lifted.
"Yes, baby. She is your mom." He smiles. He wiggled his brows playfully and squeeze my hands.
"Should we give her a grandson now?" he asked playfully. My eyes widened.
"Shut up!"
