"I am not under their spell," he firmly said. My jaw clenched.
"Yes, you are! The more you deny it, the more it becomes obvious," I tantrumed. I know I'm right. I can see it in his eyes. He's obviously under that mermaid's spell.
He frustratingly threaded his fingers through his hair. "Baby? Why do you keep insisting that I am?" There's a hint of frustration in his voice.
"Because you're denying it!" I yelled back. His face darkened.
"Should I just say that I am even though I'm not just for you to stop?" He gives me an are-you-kidding-me look but I ignored him. I crossed my arms and looked away.
My face falls when I saw the same mermaid watching us from a far. She smiled devilishly at me and flashed her chest. Geez. I didn't know that whores exist in here as well. The difference is that they're fishes.
I gasped softly when I felt his hands on my waist. "I don't think I'm the one's under their spell. I think it is you," he whispers. My forehead creased.
I turned to look at his green eyes. "What do you mean?" I asked. I know by now that my face looks confused and puzzled. I'm aware about the mermaids' powers and the spells they give to Vortans but from what I know, they mostly prey on handsome young men not girls.
"They can control minds. Once you look at them, they'll have a temporary control in your mind. They can give you illusions. Give you mindless thoughts like what you're thinking right now. I told you already that I'm not under their spell. What they trying to do now is to make us fight," he explains patiently.
My mind became blank. Oh no... This is bad. He's right. I don't even know why I'm getting so worked up about it. This isn't supposed to be serious. But I'm enlarging the problem.
I wrapped my hands around him. "I-I'm sorry!" I chirped.
"It's okay, baby. I understand. I've seen mermaids before and I'm already aware of their capabalities," he whispered. He brushed my hair using his big hands.
We're still here on Sayana River. Elaine and Gabby were aware knew that we were having a lover's quarrel so they decided to give us some privacy and feed the unicorns.
I thought I already knew the twists and turns here in Vortaxia. I guess no?
We had fun in the river. They wanted to swim but the mermaids are enough reason to scare them off.
"Are you tired?" Damon asked. I rested my head on his broad shoulder and smiled.
"Yes, but it's worth it."
We exhaustedly came back to our chambers. It's dark already and the halls are all black. I smiled when I felt his hand on my waist.
"We should change," he whispers naughtily. I jokingly hit him but went inside the bathroom anyway.

We had a long and tiring night. If it weren't for Bubbles we would have missed our class with Diante.
"So where you went?" I asked the God. He looked at me with his tired brown eyes.
"I'm going to tell you a secret and I want you to keep it," he said seriously. I pouted my lips and nodded slowly. Is this a very serious discussion?
"The Gods are trying their best to make Fiscio speak," he confessed. My lips sparted. Fiscio? The juggen fish? The one who gives advices on Gods and Goddesses?
"Why?" I asked.
"We believe that Fiscio knows something. The juggen fish can help us find God Gaviel's bludgeon," he asnwered. Determination is noticeable in his voice. His expression turned exhausted. "But we have given Fiscio everything. Almost every gifts we could find to please it just wouldn't speak." He heaves a sigh.
So that's what they've been doing?
"Can we help?" I asked. He lifted his head to look at me and smiled.
"I would have consulted you already is yes. But apparently, the fish doesn't want anything."
I pouted my lips and nodded. "Let me know if we can do anything. We're more than willing to help, Diante," I told him genuinely. He gave me a warm smile.
"I almost forgot about this... Batailen will come soon." He smiled.
"Batailen?" I repeated. I looked at him confusedly. What is that?
"It's a friendly battle." My eyes grew big. Oh no. I immediately look at my parsen who's currenly flying in his dragon form. His albino scales are reflecting the rays of the sun. He looks astonishing.
"But we do not have powers!" I blurted. He chuckled.
"I know. But it's a friendly battle. Nobody's going to kill anyone."
"But still..."
He gave me a comforting smile. "It'll be okay, Golden. But I'm afraid that both of you will have to do two batailens." What? Two batailens? I don't even think we can handle one batailen and now he's telling me that we'll need two?
"What do you mean?" I asked. Eyesare full of curiosity and nervousness. Look I don't really like the idea of battles and seeing how the gifts of others? It's just quite unfair.
"Both of you are from different kingdoms. You're from Shperia and Damon's from Dragonia. Both kingdoms praccatice Batailen. Are you getting my point?"
What? But... Argh... I hate this.
"You guys look serious."
I looked to my side and there's my sexy parsen walking like a model towards us. I gave him a small smile. I handed him he towel. "Thanks baby," he whispers.
"Diante was speaking to me about this Batailen thing. Apparently, we have to do some friendly fight on both Dragonia and Spheria kingdom," I told him. I was expecting a violent reaction from but he failed me by smilng widely.
"That's cool. When will we be doing that?" he asked. I frowned at him. What the...
"You look excited," I slurred. He arched his brows.
"Why? Is there something wrong about that?" he asked. I gave him a sarcastic smile. "I mean we're ready. You trained and I trained."
I didn't respond to him. He's such a jerk.
"Baby why?" he asked.
"I do not have power. Unlike you who can transform yourself into a dragon, I am powerless. How can I protect you?" I told him.
"You don't have to protect me. I'll protect you," he answers. I rolled my eyes. He's really good on saying nonsense. Don't he realize what others are capable of? They could literally iced me or burned us. He's... Argh!
"I better go young man. You look like you have to exert tons of effort," Diante joked and left.
"Baby?" he called.
"Shut up!"
