He glanced at his watch. "We have two minutes." I walked towards my suitcase. I did not packed all the stuffs that I have. I only pack those that I'm going to need. As much as I wanted to bring all the stuffs in this room, I also considered the number of hands I have.
"What are you doing?" he asked.
"These are my stuffs. I'm only taking those that I can not leave behind," I told him. He scanned my suitcase and I awkwardly smile at him.
"That's quite a lot actually," he noticed. I bit my lip in embarrassment. He sat on my bed and I sit beside him. "Just so you know," he started. I looked at him and our eyes met. He smiles sweetly and hold my free hand.
"You're my mate." My lips parted and I wasn't able to hide my rosy cheeks from him. Why is he so blunt?
"I did not really like that guy," he told me. His soft expression hardens. My eyebrows furrowed. What guy? Oh! It must be Travis.
"He is just my friend," I told him. I mentally slapped myself. Why am I explaining to him? It's not like we are in a relationship or something.
He held my hand tightly but softly and slowly walked towards my closet.
It is an antique closet that I found in the curb a year ago. It was beautiful and I thought it would be such a waste to throw such a piece.
"Are you ready?" he asked.
I carefully nodded. I can feel the warmness of his hand. I feel safe and sound in his grip. It's like the warmth that I have been looking for. It's peculiar to feel this but I feel complete whenever I'm near him. He's like a missing piece of my soul and I can't even believe I'm thinking about this cheesy stuffs right now.
Am I that into him?
He lifted his free hand and carefully opened the closet. I closed my eyes.
When I open my eyes in the count of three. I'll be able to see a new world before me.
I should feel anxious and worried but I surprisingly feel contented about the thought of being back to the world I truly belong. I guess...
I'm not normal after all.
I opened my eyes and my face automatically falls when I see nothing but the rest of my clothes hanging in my closet. I glanced at Damon and he looks pretty calm. I glanced at my watch and it's already 11:11 p.m.
We're supposed to be there by now.
"Damon?" I whispered. I frowned at him. I was so excited for nothing.
He bashed my clothes and I squealed when a strong light flashed in my eyes. I closed my overwhelmed eyes.
"Let's go?" I heard Damon said. I slowly opened my eyes and I saw a purple portal linked at the back of my closet. It was glowing brightly like the milky way galaxy. It's very pretty!
He wasn't lying.
Oh my...
I gulped and nodded slowly. "Don't be scared. I'll protect you," he mumbled. I looked at him and our eyes met. His words touched my heart. I genuinely smiled at him.
I released a deep sighed and reluctantly take a step forward. He looked at me and I smiled at him. I closed my eyes as we entered the portal.
Next thing I felt is a cold breeze brushing through my skin. "Open your eyes," I heard him whispered. I slowly opened my eyes and my lips parted when I saw the place.
Puffy clouds welcomed my eyes. We are in a somewhere high place and I could see the other floating islands from here. We're standing in one of it actually. It's like a city on clouds. We're literally floating!
Birds are chirping everywhere and the loud noise of the crowd is suiting.
A person with a half horse body walked passed us and my mouth hanged open. I scanned the place and there are a lot of people in here.
"They're Vortans," he speaks while looking at them. "We're Vortans," he muttered.
My face frowns when his grip tightens. Ouch?
I saw a red-haired guy walking towards us. He looks handsome too but his facial features screams bad vibe.
He was smirking at Damon and I could feel his uncomfortableness as that red-haired guy walked towards us. "What's up chicken," he said. My eyes widened because of what he called him.
I was expecting him to smashed that red-haired guy's face on the floor but he just grabbed me and walked away. "He's a total smug!" I told him.
"I know," he replies.
"You're not going to do anything about it?"
"Let's stay out of trouble."
"Hey! You chickening again?" I heard the red-haired guy blurted. His companions burst into laughter and my feet automatically stop from following Damon.
He turns to look at me and I frowned at him.
I can't just let them belittle him like that.
I yanked my hand off of him and turned to look at this red-haired guy. He stopped laughing when he saw me glaring at him. I closed my fist and raised it in the air.
"What are you doing..." Damon whispers but I didn't care.
I waited for something to came out of my hand. I'm already in Vortaxia and I think I have the ability to throw him somewhere just by gesturing my hand.
"What in a bloody hell do you think you're doing, huh?" the red-haired guy taunted. I frustratingly looked at my pale hand.
I guess I do not have a power.
I took my middle finger out of my fist and gave them a dirty finger. They all look at it with a confused expression.
You stupid Vortans... I have more insults that you Vortan bullies don't know.
I rolled my eyes and grab my amused Damon.
