Chapter 17

"I highly doubt that. You're the son of a billionaire. I'm here based on a scholarship programme. We're not going to the same college."
"Why would you say that?"
"Because you're rich! What rich person is going to go to some ordinary college!?"
"Okay. Where is this coming from?"
"From my thoughts. Here we are, living in the moment without thinking about the future."
"Blossom, no one knows what the future holds."
"I know that. But I also know that I don't want to put my heart on the line and get it broken because I've never had it broken before. I'm falling for you, Jevan. I've already fallen and I'm now scared because...."
He cut me off. He cut me off with a feverish kiss that turned passionately as I gave in to it. My hands went around his neck and he used that chance to pull me in even closer to him. I was certain that not even the breeze could get between us.
He made a low moan and I felt myself getting weak in the knees as the kiss deepened even more. I've never kissed a guy before and I always thought I'd be bad at it, but with Jevan, there was no wrong.
A current washed over me. He picked me up and we went back into the Range Rover. He set me on the backseats and hovered over me, the kiss yet to break.
My hands went underneath his T-shirt, feeling his smooth skin and firmness. I've watched enough movies when my mother wasn't at home.
"We should stop. If we don't...," he said, biting the bottom half of his lips. He traced my fingers over my small cup.
Wait! When did he take my top off?
I proceeded to kiss him again.
"Blossom," he whispered, "We really should stop. I don't want your first time to be in the back seat of my Rover."
"Where then?" I asked him.
"Can I tell you the picture in my head?" he asked.
"Yes."
"You. Me. Candle lights. Dessert. A very big bed with silk sheets." With every phrase, he kissed my lips.
After we've gathered ourselves, we drove back home.
"Hey, call you later?" he asked.
"It's funny how we don't even have each other's numbers. Maybe because I don't own a cell phone," I answered.
"Seriously. Here, you can have mine."
"What?" I asked as he handed me his iPhone.
"I can't take your cell phone."
"Yes, you can. I've got a new one at home I haven't even touch as yet. Here, lemme just wipe it and it can be yours."
I watched him wipe the cell phone before giving it back to me. "Good as new. Here's the charger also."
"Thank you so much," I said and we hugged. After we've kissed and I watched him drove off, I hurried inside and locked the doors and started learning about the phone.
Hours went by and I finally got sleepy and went to bed.
I woke up to a buzzing phone. I checked the messages, thinking it was from Jevan.

Baby, thank you so much 4ur kind words. They meant alot to me. I cannot wait to see you 2morrow. I love you.
Yours Forever,
Brooke.
"Brooke? Yours forever? Why would she.. Why was he talking to her? And Tomorrow? He's going to see Brooke tomorrow?" I was in shock. The phone slipped from my fingers and tears slipped from my eyes.
Jevan's POV
It has been one week since Blossom's suspension and school didn't seem the same without her, at least for me.
There was just something about her that got underneath my skin and made me feel something completely different. Something I've never felt before.
After school, I drove to Blossom's house. I knocked on the door when I got there and a sad looking Blossom opened it.
"Hi. How are you?" I asked her, studying her face.
"I'm fine." She rubbed her eyes after.
"Were you asleep? Did I wake you?"
She nodded yes.
"Is your mom here?"
She nodded no. "She already left for work."
"Oh. Well I bought over your homework and assignments. I'll get out of your hair now so you can go back to getting some rest. Okay?"
"Thanks, but there's something we have to talk about. Something that I saw. In your phone."
I narrowed my eyes. "What's that?"
She handed me the iPhone I've given her. I looked down at it and saw the text message from Brooke. I heaved a sigh.
"Okay. This isn't what it looks like. This text probably got backed-up after I wiped the phone but this conversation between Brooke and me happened when we were still a couple.
She was going through something with her parents, more so her mom, and I was only giving her words of advice so she can feel better about things. She was talking about running away or even...." I paused afterwards, remembering when Brooke was secretly harming herself.
"Tell me about you two," Blossom said, "Do you still care about her? Do you still love her?"
We were sitting on a small couch in Blossom's living room.
"Let's just say that if I see Brooke is about to get hit by a car, I believe I'll let the car hit her and then I'll call 911.
In other words, I care about her but not to the extent where I'll risk my life for hers. Those days are concluded."
"What happened between the two of you? The way Nina and Sophia described your relationship together, it sounded like you were quite the pair."
I chuckled. "Truth, we were. Brooke and I always had a crush on each other since freshman year but we didn't get serious until we were sophomores.
