Chapter 10: Crazy Marriage

That very hard day finally arrived—the day that Ramona was actually going to marry Hunter, even though her heart was broken and full of hatred. Inside the room decorated with magnificent wedding decorations, Ramona sat on a chair while surrounded by several makeup women who were applying her makeup. However, even though her outward appearance looked perfect, there was no happiness on her face. His eyes looked puffy, clearly indicating that he had been crying for hours, enduring such deep pain.

Ramona stared at herself in the mirror, her face that was once full of hope now looked blank, moody, and full of despair. Her neatly tied hair, beautiful wedding dress, and beautiful makeup all felt wasted. Every inch of his body seemed to endure unspeakable pain. He felt as if he was going to be trapped in a life he didn't want, trapped in the clutches of the Hunter who was so terrifying.

The tears that fell from her eyes faded her makeup even more, and Ramona could no longer hold back her sobs. He squeezed his chest, trying to breathe, but the tightness was getting worse. She really needed her mother here, to accompany her, to provide the comfort she had been longing for. However, his mother was not here. And I don't know what will happen to her after this marriage.

One of the makeup women, who seemed to have seen how heavy Ramona's feelings were, softly said, "Miss, please smile even though this may be very painful and sad for you," the woman's voice was soft but full of worry. "Your makeup can be lost if you keep crying. Your eyes are already swollen." The woman paused for a moment, looked at Ramona's face with empathy, and then continued, "Perhaps obeying Mr. Hunter's orders will save you from death. He is like an accomplice of God who can end someone's life at any time."

Those words made Ramona's heart even heavier. The makeup wasn't wrong—Hunter was like that. Every time he remembered how inhuman Hunter was, how there was no compassion in his eyes, he felt more and more small and helpless. However, Ramona tried to control her breathing, trying to calm herself even though she knew that today was the day that would change her life forever. She didn't know if this marriage would save her or end it all.

With each passing second, Ramona feels more and more entangled in a net that she cannot escape. However, he knew—no matter what happened today, he had to stay on his feet, he had to keep going even though his heart was shattered.

Ramona wiped away her tears in a hurry, trying to hold back the sobs that were still left in her throat. She stared at herself in the reflection of the mirror with a blank stare, her face full of makeup now filled with tears and tears. The mirror, which was supposed to reflect the image of a beautiful and happy bride, showed a wounded and broken woman. However, even though her heart felt empty, Ramona tried to take a deep breath, as if gathering the remnants of the power that was within her.

"Right," he muttered softly to himself, trying to calm his chaotic mind. "It would be a loss if I continued to be sad. I have to find a way to be free from this hellish marriage." Ramona's voice was hoarse, but the determination within her began to burn again. He couldn't continue to slump, he couldn't just give up on the fate that Hunter had determined.

His hand moved slowly to his enlarged belly, feeling a small pulse that reminded him of the life he was struggling with. "And I also have to protect my child," he added in a trembling voice, reminding himself of the promise he had made to the baby—that he would do anything to give him a better life.

Ramona looked at her stomach with hope and determination. Although the world feels like it's fighting back, even though Hunter is increasingly locking her in a life she hates, Ramona knows that she can't give up. The child in her womb is the main reason she has to survive. He must protect the baby from all the evils that come with this marriage.

With one more deep breath, Ramona tried to calm herself, determined not to let herself drown in grief. He knew the marriage wouldn't be easy, but he also knew that he would fight at all costs to get out of Hunter's clutches and build a decent life for himself and his child.

Ramona stood slowly from the front of the dressing table, her eyes looking back at herself in the mirror with mixed feelings. The makeup was still perfect, but behind that appearance, there was a deep sadness. He knew that today would change everything—and even though he couldn't avoid this marriage, he decided not to let Hunter win completely.

With a determination that grew stronger, Ramona tidied up her elegant dress, then stepped towards the door. He knew the consequences of his choice—the marriage he was forced to live in would affect his life forever. However, he also knew that he would not kill his fetus. That little life was a part of him, and he would protect it with all his soul.

Ramona promised in her heart that she would accept this fate, but that didn't mean she would give up on Hunter. Not! Hunter had to feel the consequences of everything he had done to her. Ramona will continue to pursue and confront him—as a form of revenge, as a form of resistance to the man who has made his life feel like hell. No one will stop him. He wouldn't let Hunter touch his body, his child, or his mother. Everything that was precious to him would be protected, even if it had to be in an unimaginable way.

As Ramona turned from the door, she was surprised to see the door wide open, displaying the figure of Jeseline standing with a flat face, as if unaffected by the heavy atmosphere around them. Jeseline just stood still, giving a subtle signal to the makeup artist to leave the two of them.

The dresser quickly left, making room for Ramona and Jeseline, who were now just standing facing each other. Ramona's heart fluttered, but she tried to stay calm. He knew that this meeting would be painful, but he was ready for whatever came his way.

"Previously I hadn't thanked you, thank you for trying to help me escape even though in the end I was caught again by Hunter," Ramona said innocently.

Jeseline immediately approached and held both of Ramona's hands.

"This time I will come back to help you to be free from this crazy marriage!" said Jeseline convincingly, which Jeseline's words produced a sparkle in Ramona's eyes.
